Food is okay - nothing spectacular unfortunately. My husband and I shared fajitas, which were decent. Priced appropriately for the portion we received, which was enough for 2. Salsa seemed jarred, and chips store bought. Nothing wrong with either, but I would've expected something different I guess! I've had so many fantastic homemade chips and salsa that it's just surprising to run into a place that doesn't do that. Drinks also were not really great, but still bearable. Overall I think the food was pretty forgettable, and I don't know if I'll find myself coming back anytime soon. Boy we had a time last night! My BF and I came here on a Saturday night around 10:30pm. Upon arrival you're met by security which do a quick search and let you in. Inside there was no seating available and barely and standing room. It was a vibe! People dancing, eating and enjoying themselves. So we opted to sit outside. Our waiter came over shortly there after to give us menus. For my cocktail I went with the Mezcalita. I'm a Casamigos / Mezcal girlie so I was super excited to see a drink with both. It was GOOD! Stuck with it for the rest of the night. Great Smokey drink for the ppl that are into that. My BF had the Margarita Suci (mix of sangria & margarita). That drink was STRONG.... You've been warned. For my meal I had the Salmon Vallarta which was very good. Salmon was covered in a mango sauce and on a bed of mango slices. Loved it! To the right of us was a friendly older couple having a great time. Dancing, singing, totally enjoying life. Watching them just have a great time was really a joy. Riviera Maya is a great vibe! Our first night here in Stamford CT we stopped in for dinner. My fiancé had the steak fajitas which I tried - Delicious despite being on a very very hot sizzling plate the steak was juicy and so good. It came with rice, beans, and pico de gallo. The empanadas are wrapped in puff pastry I assume they keep them frozen and then reheated through a microwave. One of the worst experiences ever! Saturday evening 15 of my closest friends joined me at Riviera Maya for my Birthday. One of the managers Juan, whom I spoke to earlier in the week, said it was great, being your party "here". I called Friday to give him a estimate headcount and he set it the next day. He was never seen again except giving my guest attitude. The server was rude, horrible and was just wanted to be there to quickly make her money, never offered or brought waters to the table. She flat out told me that she cannot do separate checks, to tell my guest to figure it on who will pay. I was starting a check for my guest for food and drinks, she went ahead and started started checks per table too. Adding auto gratuity to every check including mine. Walked in during happy hour, but they unfortunately don't have any happy hour specials. I was seated immediately as it wasn't busy. The staff is friendly and atmosphere was clean, colorful and upbeat. The chips were warm and crispy and salsa was balanced. I drank the pomegranate mojito and it was refreshing but I feel like it could have used a little more mint. The octopus appetizer was tender and the fresh squeeze of lemon perfected the dish. Crunchy bell peppers and saluted spinach was a nice accompaniment with the octopus. The steak fajitas was beautifully presented on a sizzling plate and smelled delightful. We ordered guacamole, which is prepared table side to your liking. It's fantastic! A must have! They have the best veggie fajitas anywhere! The beef taco is delicious but come on how hard is it to make a taco. The guacamole is very good and I love how they make it fresh at your table.
