Hands down, best jewelry experience of my life and I'm not foreign to jewelry or retail in any capacity. Trustworthy and honest! Long review but worth it if you care about your jewelry. In researching local jewelers I stumbled across RK&Co via google & yelp and they had awesome reviews. I work in digital media and have for years so I kinda knew what to look for etc. in doing my research. I was a bit nervous given my ring was not purchased here but in a different state and no other jeweler had touched my rings other than to clean them. However, I had two diamonds that had fallen out and needed them replaced. NOTE: this has happened multiple times (5 to be exact) with my [designer] engagement ring. And to be clear, it did not come from a mass jewelry retailer. 5 s and here's why: 1) Knowledge & Understanding: I was greeted by two of the nicest, honest, & professional individuals I've met in retail in a very long time. He examined the ring and said well we can replace the diamonds but I'm concerned about the prongs. I explained the backstory of my engagement ring & said I had a feeling this day was coming. At that point, I'm standing in front of two strangers & made a gutsy request, which was 'can you remove the diamonds on the band & rebuild my ring'. He looked at it, brought it up on the big screen tv, explained the process & said absolutely doable. 2) Common human courtesy (something most retailers forget is the key ingredient to growth & retention): The next day I received a call explaining there would be a delay & apologized profusely about the inconvenience as I was a new customer & he wanted to make me fully aware of the situation. This is the type of service and care retailers do not do anymore. I completely understood, life happens. I'm a realist. 3) Honesty / Integrity: I received another phone call checking in to see if I wanted to bring the ring back in for the repair but I was in downtown Atlanta & told them there was no way I could make it there before they close. I explained that I definitely wanted to but I was way too far to make it there in time. We also chatted on this drive & I mentioned my husband's concern about a new jeweler reconstruction my ring. At that point he flat out said, if there are any concerns I don't want to do it because you need to feel comfortable. Shocked, I said WHAT? At that point I realized my first instinct was spot on - they care & take pride in their work & their reputation means everything to them. I assured him I was comfortable and they even waited on me to arrive after hours!!! 4) Genuinely Care: If the above doesn't explain this then let me break it down. They didn't even know me, but cared enough about my business they called to keep me informed, called to check on my status, stayed late to accommodate my schedule, and best part (left out above) we had great conversations with every visit. As my husband and I prepare for a move to Florida, one of our to-do's was to get all of our watch batteries replaced (and we have a lot of watches). Just had maintenance and reconditioning done here on two Rolexes. One was 20-years old and the other 30. They now look and run like new. The service charge was about half of what I was quoted by the Rolex dealer where I purchased them. I also sold them some scrap gold and silver. I was very pleased with the high price Reza offered me. Prior good reviews are all correct - thanks fellow Yelpers! I needed an heirloom family ring approximately 100 years old resized. Totally paranoid about leaving it at some big chain jeweler for a couple of weeks. I wanted a small local place that felt trustworthy. Reza and his staff are wonderful. I immediately felt comfortable. He spent a lot of time trying to get my ring perfectly sized so it would fit well, not twist around, and not fall off. They have a person who does the actual work on site one day a week, and I was able to drop off my ring in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. It fit absolutely perfectly, and I think Reza may have been even more delighted than me to see that (and I was pretty darn delighted). Clearly a sign of somebody with a passion for their craft. This is a very nice jeweler. He primarily carries what I call "lady pieces" . It's a little conservative for my taste but quite nice. I like big bold pieces so there was nothing to hold my interest. On the other hand, I do appreciate having someone close who can provide complete repairs on fine jewelry. They are very nice to work with and are very efficient. I work near this jewelry store and had used them a year or so ago to replace a battery in my watch. It involves sending the watch offsite for a week because it has to be pressurized. I brought it in again two weeks ago for another battery replacement and a week later they called me and I picked it up. Two days later the watch band fell apart while I was sitting at my desk at work. I brought it back to them and they said they would try to fix it for me. Reza called me to ask if I had any links for the band because he was unable to fix it. He asked if he could remove another link but this would have made the band too small. I told him I could not find any extras. He said he would do his best. Carol called me the other day to say the watch was ready. I went by there today and they said they were able to find a link and fix it. I immediately felt attitude from the woman who brought the watch out to me after they buzzed me in the locked door. She insisted that I provide the yellow claim slip (although she had already brought the watch out before I even got up to the counter) and said if I couldn't find it she would charge me $1. When I noticed that the link they used was not a match to the rest of the watch band, she said "it's fixed, it's wearable" and instantly laid into me, in front of a customer in the store, accusing me of breaking the watch and wanting them to fix it for free. I reminded her that they had sent my watch out and it was gone for a week, and Reza had never waivered about taking responsibility for this when I brought it in, but this woman had made up her mind that I was trying to get something for nothing, even though I told her that while I was ok with the repair, I didn't appreciate her accusatory attitude towards me! She went on to loudly talk negatively about me to Reza and the customer in the store while I was walking out - my blood was boiling at this point- and I told her I would not be coming back to the store for any reason and that I would be posting a review on social media. Her response was "good!" and some other nasty comments. I had no issue with them at all until this woman showed her true colors to me in front of a customer. It was unprofessional, rude and completely uncalled for. I know this store has good reviews and I have done limited business with them, but the way this woman dealt with me, when I was nothing but nice about the situation, made me sick to my stomach and completely outraged. I know they are a local small business and I support that, but I will not be bullied by someone I have paid for a service! Or anyone for that matter! This was a $950 watch that cost me $35 to replace the battery. Whether I spent $35 or $3500 I should still be treated with respect, not malice and condescension. I should have gotten a clue when I read the sign that was taped to the inside of the locked door that said that no hats, hoodies or sunglasses were allowed in the store! Profiling? Really? read more
