The Godfather hoagie was delivered by angels from heaven! My wife enjoyed her hoagie as well (fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, roasted peppers). They use Liscio rolls, the best jn the area. Good selection of refrigerated/frozen soups, entrees. The wedding soup was very good, but the chili was uninspiring. I'm confused. Everyone was raving about how good Ro-lynn is. Uuuumm not so much. We ordered a hot roast beef which had barely any taste of cheese and the beef was so tasteless and dry. Yuk. Also I ordered the God Father (large) which had the least amount of beef I have ever had in a sandwich. Very disappointed. I'll stick to Wayside. read more

Every few months I take a trek down to Ro-Lynn deli to get some Godfather Hoagies, chicken cutlet sandwiches, TRULY aged SHARP provolone like none I can find ANYWHERE up in Bucks or Montgomery county and any number of other absolutely delicious, flavorful meals they are offering. If anyone should be known for having the "Best Hoagie in Philly - AND surrounding areas" it's Ro-Lynn deli. The owners take incredible pride in their work - and they pay attention to their recipes, offer generous portions that are often double the size you find at any other deli. RoLynn Deli is my FAVORITE place to get hoagies, cheese steaks, meatballs, imported cheeses... cento Hot peppers (I'm a picky pickled pepper eater), antipasto and macaroni salads. Damn. Man does not live on pizza alone - there are times that call for hoagies. I learned this lesson as a small lad growing up in Northern New Jersey. We called them submarine sandwiches or subs for short. Cold cuts sliced fresh, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, spices and oil - all stuffed inside a fresh Italian roll - this was a thing of magic. Just walking in the door of Long Johns in Morristown - my childhood sub shop - to take in the aroma of what went on there was enough to instantly get me salivating. Fast forward to today. I've been living in the Philly area a very long time - so much so that I call this area home. Hoagie shops (yea - they aren't subs anymore around here) exist in many forms - pizza shops, local chains, sandwich shops. One of my favorite places to grab a hoagie is a good Italian deli. An Italian deli like Ro-Lynn. I mean, they have COLD CUT CENTER in their name for freaks sake. It's a cold cut center. A meat slicing factory. I got the ITALIAN SPECIAL - genoa salami, capicola, pepper ham and provolone cheese (subbed sharp). Lettuce, tomato, onion, salt, pepper, oregano, peppers included at your request(got me all). I ordered their homemade hots and oil. They use Liscio rolls - an excellent choice. The hoagie was packed with meat - well worth $10 for a 12 inch hoagie. And it was delicious- easily one of the best you will find in DELCO. I also grabbed two slices of their homemade lasagna for dinner tonight and a small container of escarole soup which is defrosting in the fridge. I've driven by here too often. I'm glad I finally stopped in to see what I was missing. They might say you never forget your first sub but Ro Lynns takes hoagies to a level of perfection I never knew existed as a kid growing up. And now that I found it, I will be back - maybe even later today. read more

Another Yelper emailed me and asked me to try this place. I would not have known about it had it not been pointed out that way. For years we had loyally made a great trek to LaSpada's just over the Parkside border, literally 0.3 mi down the street (Edgemont Ave) from Ro Lynn. My family had gone to LaSpada's for 3 generations, and my husband and I would drive ~45-50 mins roundtrip to get LaSpada's, weekly. Unfortunately, the owner there changed management and the whole place went downhill. We were desperate to try to find a better alternative, but still compared things to what LaSpada's used to be for us. Ro Lynn's 12" hoagie is $12, while LaSpada's is $8 (after a recent price hike at LaSpada's). Ro Lynn's hoagie is more packed, but is it $4 more packed? No. Was the Ro Lynn sandwich worth $12? No. Also, Ro Lynn's flavors are not as good to us. They were good sandwiches, but they weren't like "Philly Hoagies" for our taste. I don't know, there is something about a good Philly sandwich where the masters (DiNic's, John's Roast Pork, Sonny's, etc.) put some kind of magic Philly love into them and they TASTE like Philly. Philly is not churning out couture foods done to perfection, but Philly CAN churn out an amazing sandwich done to sandwich perfection; that is what Philly is good at. Ro Lynn's hoagies tasted like good sandwiches you can get in NY, but I wouldn't go to NY to get the best sandwich I ever ate, I would go to Philly. What I am trying to say is, there was no magic for us at Ro Lynn, no Philly kind of taste. Even their hyped "Godfather" hoagie just wasn't up to the hype for us. I don't know if it's the roll, or the meats, or the lack of messy mayo, but something wasn't right. The Yelper who asked us to try Ro Lynn actually email me months ago, and the only reason we were willing to try Ro Lynn is because LaSpada's is now somewhere we will not go. They recently turned over all the staff, who is now pretty rude, untrained, and uncaring about the product. The food quality is suffering. Not only is quality slacking, but management has taken shortcuts, making the sandwiches lighter, while raising the price, Boo! That said, $12 for a Ro Lynn hoagie is just way too high for takeout in the area. Too bad Major Wing Lee market is so far away. They offer 11" hoagies for $4 each -- YES, $4 EACH! (And Major's hoagies taste like a lot more Philly love than Ro Lynn's do too.) read more

The prices are up there, but the food is totally worth it. I have never had a bad sandwich or deli product from them. Omg amazing!!! Just had the "godfather". Absolutely awesome!! Fresh meats and cheese sliced in front of you for your sandwich. Perfect amount of meats on it as well. All on a super fresh roll. Considering myself a new customer now. For too long have been fooled by sandwiches made on pre-frozen rolls with barely any meat, almost a empty roll on all sandwiches, at the Cocco's up the street. I grew up in the area and found Ro-Lynn when I worked in an office on the Widener University campus in high school. This was my daily lunch spot, and 15+ years later they're still going strong (I still know the guys in the shop when I come in, they're doing something right to keep people that long!). The Godfather (and it's newish [been on the menu like 7 years now], spicier cousin the DiCoppa) are unbelievable. I can't tell you how many Eagles tailgates I've converted to Ro-Lynn lovers, and I found out recently that the Eagles themselves are fans - apparently Jeff Stoutland (O-line coach) is a regular customer and had spread the gospel to the high holy church of Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field). If you want a hoagie, just make the trip from the city to Ro-Lynn. "Godfather, with lettuce, tomato, onions, hot [peppers]." Mission accomplished. read more

As soon as you walk in the door you know you've come to a real Italian deli. Take a deep breath there is no better smell anywhere. No matter what sandwich you order you can't go wrong. And those homemade cookies don't leave without buying some. I've never had any of their other homemade foods but I can only imagine that they are just as good if not better than the sandwiches that are made. They don't skimp on anything at this place. One of my co-workers always brags about Ro-Lynn's Deli and how great their Hoagies are. So I had to check them out. If you read some of my previous reviews you know that I'm a Hoagie lover and connoisseur *(self proclaimed)* and I seek out the best whenever informed. Ro-Lynn uDeli is located in Brookhaven, Delaware county and I was in Media for an event one Saturday which is close by. Ro-Lynn's is in a strip mall and upon entering I was reminded of South Philly, but in a kindler, gentler way. The aromas of cheeses and meats perfumed the air and hung from the ceiling like sparkling ornaments. I think the discribtion of Deli is a little off, this is a full blown, grown-up Italian market. Along with the meats and cheeses there are breads, pastas, oils and olives, sauces and everything attributed to old country Italian cooking. But I was there for a Hoagie, so let's get it on. I was greeted by a nice guy who asked me what I would like to order. I chose off the menu a "Godfather" Hoagie and a Chicken Cutlet Hoagie. The Godfather had prosciutto, soppresatta, dry capicola, peppered ham and sharp provolone cheese on a Licios's roll, of course with the usual lettuce tomato and onions The Chicken Cutlet Hoagie had a perfectly crisp, breaded chicken breast with sharp provolone lettuce tomato and onions along with some tasty Italian style hot peppers. Both sandwiches were equally delicious, fresh and filling. Except for a minor flaw (in my eyes) of trading the onions to Bermuda and the lettuce to romaine, it was very good eating. My wife loved The Godfather. Very, very expensive. Fresh mozzarella and the pancetta are second rate but in this neighborhood, better than nothing. Lots of fresh cold cuts and Italian sausages. Bread is sparse and what they have is too costly to even consider. Still it is worth it and I will always get my Italian there. read more

I have been going here since I was a kid !! Over 30 years ! Anything I ever got here delicious!! Whenever I got roast beef we would go to Riddle Ale house !!!
