    a red and white sign

I've been coming to this iconic pizza joint since I was a kid. Absolutely AMAZING. Stellar pizza. GREAT location amongst beautiful historic buildings- all architectural gems. The classic unchanged neon sign hanging outside is to me as important as the Eiffel Tower. I remember sitting inside as a kid in front of the mural and the owner would throw paper plates like frisbees to each one of us. Did I mention the pizza is stellar?!? Yum. Get some.

For a pizza joint, the bacon cheeseburger and fries was well executed (except for the small strip of undercooked bacon)

I made a large carryout order at Roadhouse Pizza while visiting family in Ripon, so this review is focuses more on the food than the dining environment or the level of service. While the food quality had its high points and low points, portion sizes were generous and we fed our group of eight for less than $50. Since this is a pizza joint, let's talk 'za. If you enjoy a crispy crust, you definitely appreciate the crunchy cracker-thin crust served at Roadhouse. Despite an overly generous dose of tomato sauce, the crust in the interior of the pie maintained its crunch. The crust did not provide much flavor - it could have benefitted from a little more browning. The dull, thick tomato sauce slathered on the pizza overwhelmed the thin crust and toppings - there needs to be better balance between the sauce, crust and toppings. The sauce lacked an element of brightness, tasting more like heavily season tomato paste than fresh tomatoes. Roadhouse was a little stingy with the quantity of toppings with this order, with a light application of cheese and sausage. Unlike the sauce, the sausage needed a heavier hand with the seasoning. The cheese quality was above average from a flavor and stinginess standpoint. Though far from perfect, Roadhouse still provides the best pizza in town. Roadhouse is more than just pizza - they offer a full menu of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches. My sister-in-law enjoyed her juicy bacon cheeseburger on a lightly toasted bun. The only negative was the limp, thinly cut slice of bacon - a thick slice of crispy bacon would have made this burger truly special. The quality of my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was disappointing with a slab of American cheese between a couple slices of grocery-store white bread. This is the heart of America's Dairyland; the kitchen can do better than this uninspired effort. The fried appetizers were typical freezer to fryer fare, but were well prepared. The mozzarella sticks had the right batter to cheese ratio and the broccoli bites, a breaded concoction of cheese whiz and broccoli, brought on a wave of nostalgia for my mom's broccoli casserole. Other than an error on my brother's grinder sandwich (it came with mushrooms instead of bacon he wanted), the ordering process went smoothly and our order was waiting for us when we arrived to pick it up. Despite the occasional misstep with their food quality, Roadhouse still offers a good value to its customers.

Radiccio parmesan pizza with parsnip, balsamic and goat cheese

For a small town pizza joint this place had some interesting and out of the ordinary topping choices. We tried the Radiccio parmesan pizza that included parsnip (I did say out of the ordinary) and caramelized shallots. The crust was very crisp, which I really like. There was also balsamic in the pizza. Overall good flavor but the parmesan could have been more thinly shaved and the balsamic was a bit heavy. Drinks seemed crazy cheap and the bartender was on the ball with service. The atmosphere as casual, clean and I'm sure we will be back.

Salmon, fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. Yum!

To get out of the rain last week, I stopped in the Roadhouse for dinner. I was waited on promptly. Dinner, salmon was very good. Picture says it all.

Hands on, best pizza I have ever had. Pizza sauce has a distinctive taste, a little spice, but not too much.

Great food in a great environment. I'd definitely recommend if you're new to the area and looking for a good place to grab some pizza.

We ordered two kids pizzas, grilled veggies panini and a personal pizza. All were delicious but the portions are on the smaller side as my 6 and 8 yr old gobbled up all the pizza and wanted more! Pizza is wood fired thin crust with a nice charred flavor. The beer was excellent as well. Overall, highly recommend it for a family dinner!

Excitement filled me as i aloud said "yasss can chat you up! Hello my 381st brewery!" I was warmly welcomed by friendly & knowledgable beertender Mikey. Staff Stephanie was nearby too. Mikey built me a flight. After making my way partially through the flight & beery chat, Mikey poured me a sample of Charlotte's Revenge Scotch Ale. Mmmmm so good!!! Of my flight, none of the six would i not order again but the Maibock was my victor!! Watch out for My Sophia....she is sly @ an easy drinking 9%. Mikey poured me a blue eyed blonde while telling me it was named for the owners wife. Boom....a few minutes later Mikey "thats the blue eyed blonde behind you". They had a brick oven but we didn't even discuss food. Mikey said they just celebrated 10 years last week, March 4th. They were originally right across the street as Mikey rattled off the store names where they were. Time got away from me so i didnt look @ merch. Thats my second visits task. I really like the tap room!! Spacious, lots of natural light, the exposed brick wall, the kitchen right there and a really big bar. The brew house just outside the tap room. I like the Wisconsin shaped flight paddles. When looking @ my flight list i asked the order? Mikey pointed out there is a tiny "map" on the sheet! I appreciated that w all the rising prices Knuth still offers a reasonable flight of $2 pours! I asked Mikey how to pronounce Knuth? Then forgot to ask its definition or how the owner came up w the name? Knuth checks all the boxes! Delicious beer, fantastic staff, comfortable digs, easy parking & just an all around good vibe! Thanks Mikey & Knuth for providing such a delicious & great experience; looking forward to my next visit, cheers!

We had been camping nearby, & wanted pizza. Never expected much, when you blindly pick a place, but…read morethey will deliver. That's a plus!! It was delicious! I'm originally from the Milwaukee area. They do know how to make pizza there. Then you move out of Milwaukee, to a small city in the country. People tell you where the great restaurants are. I'm really not sure what they are comparing their choices to. So we ordered a pizza, from the place that everyone raved about in town by us. It smelled really good, started to eat it, I would have rather ate the cardboard box that it came in. The crust was disgusting! The sauce had no flavor, neither did the Italian sausage. That was the first & last place we tried pizza in this area. Back to "Thee Upper Crust Pizzeria", Pardeeville, WI. I cannot Bragg enough about their Pizza. It's the best I have ever tasted! The smell when you walked in made me want to try everything on the menu! Then the pizza! We like thin crust. It was Amazing! The sauce was the best I ever tasted! Just the right amount of spices and the flavor was incredible! Italian sausage, was perfect! They actually use the cheese from our small city. That is really good cheese. Just everything that we have tried there, has been amazing! I have to admit though, I cannot go there & not order their pizza! Anything else we have wanted to try, we take it to go. They package up everything very well. The service is very fast, waiters & waitresses are very polite. We have even had the owner stop by our table to make sure everything was great, & asked if there was anything that he could get for us. Very pleasant people. We actually go there quite often, the food is just that good. From our home, to "thee Upper Crust Pizzeria" takes us 1hour & 38 minutes. That is one way! So it's a drive, but so worth the trip! They do not let you give more than a 5 star rating here, which sucks! This place should have double the stars! And, now I want their pizza...

Added the fries, but not my favorite. Looks like they use soy oil. We did not care for the baked ziti. Meat sauce had lots of spicy ground sausage. Too spicy for me. Don't care for their red sauce either. And pasta noodles were over cooked. Would definitely get the beef sandwich again. Nice size portion.
