I scheduled a pickup but no longer needed their services so I called to cancel. There was no carrier assigned to transport my car and I specifically spoke to the lady on the phone and she also said there would be no charge. They still charged me $135 for cancellation. Luckily my police man friend's uncle has a car transporting business and can see when carriers have been assigned and when they haven't. This will not end in their favor. What a scam these people are. They will be sorry they lied and took my money. **PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE** They damaged my car and refused to take responsibility even though I paid for insurance. They are dishonest and unethical. I would give them a 0 if I could. I had a horrible experience and would hate for anyone else to have the same experience I had. 1. They are extremely unreliable when it comes to pick up and drop off times and dates. They called me the day my car was supposed to be picked up and told me they weren't going to be able to do it for another week, which was extremely difficult to arrange while I was moving. I understand that the original date is an estimate; however, they could have let me know sooner than the day of, which I only found out by calling them multiple times. 2. My car arrived with multiple oil spots bigger than the palm of my hand destroying the paint on the hood of my car, which will cost me over $600 to repair. I had paid an extra $95 for insurance; however, they refused to cover the costs. Apparently in the contract for insurance it states that oil spills are not covered; however, this isn't obvious at all. And also I was told oil spills are quite common, so why aren't they doing anything to try to avoid this from happening and then refusing to cover it. 3. They are extremely unresponsive. I called multiple times to only receive a voicemail. I eventually stopped leaving voicemails because I never received responses. They also claimed to have sent me information through email that I never received.Last, after speaking with a very unhelpful representative, I asked to speak with a supervisor or file a complaint and she refused showing how little they cared about me as a customer. To avoid this from happening again they should require employees to notify customers that oil leaks happen and they should ship cars with covers saving time and money when damage occurs which I was told is often. I was never once notified that oils leaks happen and was never notified that they aren't covered and I was never notified that there was an option to deliver my car in a higher location on the truck to avoid leaks. They keep making excuses for their terrible service and no one will even call me or allow me to file a complaint. They really don't care about their customers, and just care about making money without taking any responsibility for their actions or their service. Please do not use this service until they address these issues and resolve them. read more

I filled out a request for quote and used it in comparison to other vendors while shopping around. I booked the quote and they ran out the clock before calling me so that I had no other choices to go another route. Then they told me they were sorry and due to their own computer problems that they needed to charge me another nearly $1000 because the original quote was a mistake. They showed up to pick up the truck a day later than scheduled after confirming with a phone call they later sent me an email to "reconfirm" again and I had no choice again but to accept the later date. My truck was scheduled to arrive yesterday and it's still not here. I don't know when it will arrive. I suppose I should just be happy it hasn't fallen off the carrier or been cut up for scrap. I wish I would have read the other reviews and saved myself from paying an extra thousand dollars for 2 days of lost work, a waste of money for starting my insurance premium, countless useless reply's from online chat support, and absolutely no clue when my vehicle will arrive. I would highly recommend that if you are considering using them to transport your vehicle that you also consider just pushing it into the nearest lake and then move on with your life. I booked the shipping for my car online from the quote given a week in advance . 5 days later I get an email notification that a carrier has been assigned. A few minutes I get a call from Chris at Roadrunner dispatch telling there has been a price increase I did not agree at first but it was only $46. I get the information for the assigned carrier. The payment is paid. I call the carrier company to verify pick and delivery. And they inform me that the order was cancelled. I did not receive any notification from Roadrunner. I had to contact Roadrunner to get the information. They do not answer the phone so after being on hold and auto disconnects I had to contact them through text online support. No apology just excuses and I was informed that if I cancel my refund will take 5-7 days. So I call the next day which is day 6 the day before scheduled pick same process no answer. I have to contact online support again to ask some one to contact. I finally get in contact with so one and he is very rude and over talks me when I don't except the new carrier term of basically cash or money order on delivery when I have already been charged but expected me to pay again and wait 5-7 days for my original payment to be refunded. The biggest problem I had with them was the fact that the delivery was not done on time, something which I had stressed particularly during booking. The car arrived 2 days later. It seems they do not have trucks of their own, a separate mover actually delivered the car and on calling the call center of roadrunner, they never had any info. There is a place in their website called tracking and that one read ready for pick up even after the car delivery. Finally I called up the other company whose bill was given to me during pick up that I came to know about the whereabouts of my car. read more

I scheduled to have my car shipped from Washington State to Charleston, SC. I called them up the first week of June, paid for the shipment and was told I would be contacted a few days before the scheduled pick up date. My pickup date was to be June 23. Ok, so far so good. Three days before pickup I had not heard a word and called them up and waited for quite a while for a real person to talk to. "Oh, we will call you with a pick up time, don't worry, we're working on it." I'm a patient guy so I waited until the day of pickup and was told they couldn't do anything until the 1st of July. Uh...no, that won't work. On the day they were supposed to pick up the car I got a call and said they would pick it up the next day but it would be $300 over what I paid. Ok, I'm over a barrel and had to accept that. The car was picked up at a shopping center nearby because the truck couldn't get on my street, no problem, I can accept that. The car arrived in Charleston at 11pm and my daughter had to wait in a parking lot for the car to arrive. There was no inspection and she was handed the keys. She drove it home and called me to say it was very loud. Well the car is a muscle car and I passed it off as inexperience with it. When I arrived in Charleston I noticed that there was damage to the exhaust system hence the loud noise. I had the system repaired since I had to drive the car and then contacted Roadrunner twice, once by phone (never do that, they never answer) and then by email. I was told that since I didn't have pictures I couldn't prove the damage was done in transport. I would never recommend this company and am now out $300 for repair, $300 extra for shipping and the quoted cost of shipping. Call this a bad experience. read more

I would run as far away from this company because they're going to say yes to everything until they get your money and then they're not going to live up to any part of the agreement and they're going to do whatever they want to do. Booked with roadrunner to transport my vehicle from Ohio to Washington (major cities on both ends) a full 8 weeks before my anticipated pickup date. During the booking process the sales representative indicated to me that booking early would ensure that my vehicle would be picked up in my needed time window. There was essentially no communication as we approached the designated pickup date, and when you call to confirm, you get stuck on hold before the machine finally kicking you off due to "high call volume." Then you have no choice other than their "online support" which gives generic responses like "your case is marked urgent" and that they cannot guarantee pickup on any particular date, which is different than what you are told when you make the booking. Ultimately, my vehicle was still not picked up a full 6 days after the pickup date, forcing me to cancel and make alternate arrangements. Cannot recommend against them more strongly. My experience has been very similar to that of many others here...would recommend going elsewhere. read more

Roadrunner gave me a shipping confirmation and pick-up date of June 30th. It's now July 10th, we have moved a few time zones away, and my car is still sitting in front of my empty house in metro Detroit. We've contacted Roadrunner many times, and when they actually reply to you (don't even bother with the online chat, I've tried twice - they leave a green 'online now' icon up 24/7, but no one is ever there, they just switch the picture to another generic white woman every 15 minutes to make it look like they have live agents who are actually available), they basically shrug and say you should have expected this because they're a brokerage, which is information you have to seek out yourself; no one bothers to inform you that Roadrunner doesn't have any trucks themselves or any leverage with the actually transport companies when they're harassing you to book with them. The fact that they actually had no clue when they're picking up or delivering our vehicle wasn't mentioned at any point. They'll just email you every single day after you start your quote until you book it, then they really try hard to avoid speaking to you ever again. The one time my spouse got a human on the phone to speak to him, she said "Maybe another week, not more than two weeks". Super helpful. I guess we're stuck just twiddling our thumbs, car-less and hoping no one breaks into our vehicle back in Michigan until Roadrunner SOMEHOW finds a car transport that works out of Detroit, you know, the auto capital of the world. Do you think they'll help me out if the car THEY left sitting alone for weeks is vandalized or ticketed? 100% would NEVER recommend, never use again, will spend some time writing bad reviews, because this company has TERRIBLE performance and customer service. This company is screwing me. The quoted $695, then raised it to $820 at the end of the signup form for non-operational vehicle even though I always said non-operational on the phone. I talked them into $795 non-operational but was then told $920 when scheduling the pickup of the car. Now they want $135 to cancel the transaction even though they refused to honor the agreed rate. To be honest, I never write reviews, and am not a negative person, but this company is so terrible that I felt something needed to be said. I called Road Runners two months before I planned to have my car shipped across the country. I had a very friendly employee give me details, confirm my car pick up and drop off, and give me a confirmation number. For two months I did not hear again from the company. Two days before my scheduled car pick up date, I called to confirm that someone would come to pick up my car. I was told that my car had not yet been assigned a carrier, but was reassured that my car would be picked up and delivered on time. The day before my car was scheduled to be picked up, still no "carrier" assigned to my car. The day of the scheduled pick up I called to confirm that there would be a carrier and that my car would be picked up. I received a "high call volume" message 3 times with no response. I messaged the company online and was told that they were working on finding a carrier for my car. Hours go by with endless effort trying to reach the company and have my car picked up with the end result being a carrier not being assigned and that nobody was coming to transport my vehicle. This caused me immense amounts of stress, cancelation of flights, having to completely rearrange my travel plans, and having to contact my employer that I would be arriving to my new job and home at a different date than anticipated. PLEASE do not trust this company, and if you're in a position like me where you have scheduled someone to get your vehicle and they never show up, make sure to cancel your confirmation with them or they will charge your credit card even though they're the ones that bailed on you. I wish I had read reviews too, like everyone else mentioned! Just like others wrote, they are great when they want your business to book your shipment, but then they are unreachable after that even when the truck never arrives to pick up the car! When they told me the truck would arrive on a specific day it never did. It wasn't until a full week later that the carrier was assigned for my car. I called every day and often was only able to leave a message. When someone actually did pick up they continued to assure me that the truck would be arriving soon, despite multiple promised pick ups and no shows. And no apologies were given any of those days to say "sorry the truck has not arrived." I spoke with Ralph, Adaly, and Ryan all of whom were no help. (The driver they contracted out however was great, but the drivers work for different companies that Road Runner books with.) I would definitely look elsewhere. I spoke with a guy named Christian. I explained that I had been waiting on my car for two weeks and the previous company didn't seem to care. He was very convincing that he understood and assured me Road Runner would not let me down. My car was to be picked up on Thursday. Then Friday, Then Sat. They have a great system. You can live chat with someone and they will tell you your car is marked urgent, or priority. I really wanted to speak with Christian and they told me he only makes the reservation and has nothing to do with the booking. I added a 500.00 bonus to the driver that delivered my car and they still couldn't get it shipped. Another company told me that no driver would take it because it was so big it took up two spaces and they could make more on two smaller vehicles instead of one large one. Good to know. Why didn't they tell me that in the beginning. I would have paid more. I wasn't trying to get one over. So I hired another transporter and paid more but my car was on its way three hours later. I am sorry they wouldn't let me speak to Christian. Perhaps he could have convinced me to stay because he really was a smooth talker. Too bad the rest of the company couldn't deliver. I wonder if United Auto Transports are hiring. He should give them a call. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not book through this company!!!!! I went through the process of booking a cross country shipment of my tesla X several months ago. The gentleman who booked my car transport seemed nice and knowledgeable. He followed through with me the first couple of days after the booking to make sure we had purchased additional insurance etc. That was the last I heard from this company. Our schedule pick up day, today, came and went without a single phone call or email from Road Runner. Not only did they not show up, when I called them to inquire about their whereabouts, they seem to have no clue what I was talking about - despite having a booking confirmation number. The woman on the phone seemed aggravated and annoyed. She was the first person I was able to get in touch with after making five phone call attempts. It is now memorial day weekend, a few days before I am expected to move across country, and my car is stuck here in New York. I am now scrambling to get myself a car shipment company that can accommodate me. I am sure I will end up having to pay double the price at this point. Stay away from this company. Your service following taking the order is atrocious. I booked this transport on May 3, 2018 for pick up today June 28, 2018. Within the past two weeks I have attempted to contact your customer service department numerous time to confirm pick up. With the exception of one time I have always received voice mails asking me to leave a message and my call would be returned, which I did each time, though I never received a call back. Finally earlier this week, after having to call the sales department verses the customer service line I reached a real person. I was informed that I would be contacted once a drive had been dispatched. Once again no update. Since yesterday morning, the day before the schedule pickup, I have called and had to leave five messages for someone to call me. I even spoke with two people in sales, one of which transferred me to the customer service line, only to be placed into an answering machine queue and another that said he would transfer me to a a manager and surprise surprise I ended up in the same answering machine queue. Only about an hour ago did I finally hear from customer service to state that the transport had still not been dispatched and you could not tell me when it would be. Your company should be ashamed of itself for promoting top rated customer service. What a JOKE. I fly to Maine this evening and due to your total lack of customer support and response I am canceling this order and going with a company that takes their profession seriously. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Go to a company that does not contract out the work. You basically pay these people to book a car transport for you and nothing else. This is why you should never use this company to have anything transported. I booked my transport 2 weeks in advance, it was a smooth booking process, I got a confirmation email right away and then nothing. So much nothing that I got concerned a week before my car was supposed to get picked up and I called the only number they give you to contact for customer support and was told I would be notified 72 hrs in advance of a "carrier being assigned" (that is their term for contracting some random company to do the actual transporting while they play phone tag with you and apparently never contact that assigned contract company again.) It should have been my first red flag, but I persisted, trusting that RoadRunner Auto Transport would do what they were paid to do. (They charge in advance, not after the job is done BTW, but I will get to that later.) I was sent an email about 48 hrs before the scheduled pick up of my vehicle, stating in the email headline "ACTION NEEDED." Naturally, I needed to confirm this, so, I called the provided number I was told to call in the email, a number with a New York area code. There was no answer. I called again. No Answer. I called again and left a message. No Answer. NO callback. NOTHING. I ended up calling 10 times throughout the course of the day trying to confirm that yes, I need this car picked up on this specific date. No Answer, No call back from the company. The car is supposed to be picked up on a Thursday. By this point, I still have received no confirmation that this has even been confirmed with the carrier because, well, I never heard back when my "action was needed" Nothing from either company. NOT A WORD. I get a call early Thursday morning, it was the truck driver, literally speaking to me in Spanish, I managed to make out a few words and heard him say he will be there around 1'o'clock. He showed up at 4:30pm and made me drive to an abandoned lot to pick up my car because he didn't want to take his truck into my apartment complex. Already, my door-to-door service was not exactly door-to-door. It was whatever the truck driver wanted to do apparently, nevermind what I, the customer, actually paid for. My estimated date of delivery was a week from the pick-up date. I thought, oh good, it will be there in roughly a week and will be smooth. WRONG!!! I got my first call from RoadKings Transport LLC (The company that RoadRunner Auto Transport booked to transport my car) and spoke to (well, if you can call it speaking) a woman supposedly named Ladia, who was the dispatcher from what I was told. I received a call from her that informed me that my car had arrived 3 days early. When I told her that I was not in town to sign for the car because we would not be arriving until the next day she said she must speak to the driver and said she would call me back. SHE DID NOT CALL ME BACK! I am on the road myself, trying to get to my destination while calling Ladia from RoadKings Transport LLC the entire way. I left 3 messages that day after she said she would call me back and never did. I woke up to a missed call from her at 630am! (the company is based in Florida, and clearly could care less about timezones and customer satisfaction, let alone common courtesy.) After not hearing back, I called RoadRunner Auto Transport and informed them that the driver had arrived very ahead of the estimated time frame, so early that I am not even there yet. I was told they would call the contract company (RoadKings Transport LLC) and inform them when I would arrive. (I spoke with RoadRunner Auto Transport because Ladia would not answer my calls or return calls after leaving several messages asking what has happened with my car. Neither Company called me back that day. Yes, that's right, neither company who I paid a substantial amount of money to transport my car could be bothered to call me back. This was an actual issue too! My car was there early and could not be released. After several more messages and an endless ringing to a recorded voice greeting. I gave up calling for that day. The very next day I called RoadKings Transport LLC as soon as I woke up and was told by Ladia that she was on the other line with a customer and she would call me back in 5 minutes. She did not call back, what a surprise. I called several more times that day and no answer, no returned call. I called RoadRunner Auto Transport and they told me they had not been able to get in touch with RoadKings Transport LLC. So, I have no information. My car is somewhere in the city. And No one can tell me anything. Do Not Use This Company. You will regret it immediately. They are the type of company where someone will reply to Yelp reviews and explain how sorry they are, or how it was really your fault and not them. Don't waste your time or money. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! NEVER GO THROUGH THEM. They are all SO BEYOND RUDE. Had my car shipped by them and they NEVER called to let me know my car went through damage on the way to arrival so when I went to pick up my car thinking I'll have my car back with no problems I was informed it had hail damage and that they couldn't release it to me until they called me because they did not inform me about the damages PRIOR TO PICKING UP THE CAR. Even the guy who brought me the car's manager said that they really messed up by not informing me about the damage before. They soon sent a damage claim and then when I called about it Jen said that I don't need to do it and that she was going to send me the insurance I needed as being as rude as she was to me I asked to speak to her manager she said she was the manager and she wouldn't tell me her name. Then I called back over 24 hour later because I still have not gotten my insurance info I need to start. Gary was EVEN RUDER and I can't even believed that was possible. He along went to say that they did nothing wrong and it wouldn't have made a difference if I did or did not know my car was in hail storm and inquired MANY damages. Which is not true because I had a flight booked that night because I thought my car would be brought back to me with no issue since I was never made away. I asked to speak to a higher up and he said he was the manager. Then I said so everyone here is the manager and as I proceeded to say I am writing a review about this he said it will be deleted in 3 days. Found another company who told me that, despite my larger payment, the bid to drivers for pick up was so low it was way below market. I finally had enough yesterday and went with an autos.com highly rated company. When I called RR to cancel, three different reps told me they couldn't do anything but I would get a call back within an hour by someone who could do the cancelation. 2 hours later...nothing (shocker), so I called back 12 TIMES and no answer. I finally called from another number and they immediately answered. THEY WERE SCREENING MY CALLS AND NOT ANSWERING BECAUSE THEY KNEW I WAS CALLING TO CANCEL! I was having so much trouble shipping my vehicle from alaska, to the lower 48 states, everyone wanted an arm and a leg so to speak. Until I called is company, witch was a relief to work with, and so affordable , I was also shipping a very large truck. Well with lots of problems happened being my fault, I was sent to the hands down best customer care specialist I have ever had the pleasure of working with names Jessica, she really went above and be yound fix my problems, and saving me thousands off all the other companies I contacted to help ship my vehicle. I would tell anyone who's needing a car or truck transported, to work with this company, they have a very friendly staff who's actually really there to help you and save you as much as possible. I don't give out 5 stars unless it's a worthy company and I have had the opportunity to work with. When I called yesterday morning, 1 of the representatives assured me that they do not foresee any problems and they will have a carrier for me. They said if they think it will be a problem to find a carrier, they will call me. There is absolutely no communication from their side yet. I can't even believe I have to leave one star!!!! Absolute WORST!!! Their lying sales person insisted he could pick my car up from the dealership on Saturday and sent me a link to reserve. I made the reservation and suddenly it was a Monday pick up for a Tuesday delivery and the sales person stopped responding to my calls and emails. I had no choice so I booked. THEN Monday has come and gone and no pick up. Tuesday has come and gone with no pick up. Roadrunner doesn't answer their phones and forces you to a "chat box" on their website where they have told me they have contacted the driver but he isn't responding. Basically, the driver has NEVER responded since he claimed the job yet they didn't bother to rebook with another driver. They tell me U should have expected delays and this basically isn't their problem. What?! My experience with Roadrunner Auto Transport does not even deserve 1 star. It was horrible. The company claims they can provide "real time" updates on your car transport 24 hours per day 7 days per week. From my experience that is a blatant misrepresentation. Their online support is useless. I was transferred 2-3 times each time I logged on and was never provided correct or up to date information. It is nearly impossible to get a customer service representative on the phone. It is impossible to speak with a manager. If you do get someone on the phone they immediately transfer you, you are placed on hold and then you are eventually directed to leave a message. Regardless of the voicemail message no one will call you back. I left at least 3 voicemail messages and as many online messages. Not one was returned until after the car was finally delivered! My car was delivered 13 days after the date it was picked up from my home. Three days after the estimated delivery date. The online status showed an 'on time" delivery even on day 13, 3 days after the posted delivery date, as I continued to wait for the driver to contact me with the delivery detail information. The biggest frustration was that it is nearly impossible to speak with anyone who will give you helpful information. You are always forced to await a return phone call, in my case the call never came over a 4 day period. I can understand that delays occur. What is inexcusable was the failure to provide any real or accurate information about the delivery. For 72 hours Roadrunner Auto Transport was unable to verify where in route my car was and when it would eventually be delivered. Had they provided the information they promised the late delivery would not have been a problem, however since they could not locate my car or get the driver to call them or me I became concerned that the car was missing, stolen, damaged or at the very least still days or a week away from a delivery. We hired this company to pick up our car in San Diego and drop it off in Scottsdale. When they pulled up in front of the house my husband and I watched as the driver almost drove our Tesla off the side of the trailer and grinded the right two, brand new, Tesla 22" rims along the side of the trailer, removing not only paint around the whole rim, but about a quarter inch of metal. The driver was very apologetic and said he wanted to replace them out of pocket and promised to. Instead, they ignored our calls and emails for weeks, finally emailing us a picture of a document we never signed that said the damage was there when they picked it up. We had to file a fraud claim with AMEX. Do not use these guys - they are not careful and will not be held responsible for damage they do. read more

I got a quote online that stated everything that I needed to know, and I also received a discount for setting up the move online. The transportation across country was within the timetable that they had provided me with; however, my vehicle came in early and it didn't receive any damage while it was transported across from the west to the east coast. read more

STAY AWAY from this company! My story is no different then all the other people here. Everything seemed great when getting a quote and when they took my credit card info. Reading carefully through the agreement they sent me, I fortunately had a change of heart. Never signed the agreement and decided to call them to communicate I would not be booking/signing the agreement. I was treated very rudely on the phone and finally when I said nothing would change my mind to book with them; the rep hung up the phone on me. I called back and explained my situation AGAIN trying to confirm my cancellation stating I had not signed the agreement and that I would not move forward with the booking. The rep tried changing my mind even threatening me that if I didn't book the transport with them I would get delayed attempting to ship with any other company. I am now HOPING they do not attempt to charge my credit card, which would be outrageous considering I never signed an agreement with them. But after calling 5 times attempting to cancel, only to be mistreated and aggressively pushed to book the transport with them. I am left with no choice then to WARN others and keep an eye on my credit card for any frandulent charges. Every single time I called as soon as I firmly said nothing would change my mind and that I'd simply wanted to make sure I wouldn't get any charges the reps would hung the phone. STAY AWAY! Pay a little more and avoid any headaches! I can't even imagine what would've happened if I went through with the booking if their behavior is so RUDE when I hadn't even finalized my booking. There is a clear lack of transparency and respect for customers in general! Don't bite the bait when you call for a quote. Do your reasearch and you'll soon reach the same conclusion as I did.
