Avoid This Company at All Costs - Horrible Experience from Start to Finish This has been, by far, the worst experience I've ever had with any company. I strongly advise you to spend a little extra and take your business elsewhere. To begin with, my vehicle was supposed to be picked up on May 16, 2025. They pushed it to the 17th, but ultimately didn't show up until May 21st--a full five days late. That alone might be forgivable, but it was just the start of the nightmare. I was hit with an extra $100 charge. Then when the driver arrived--after I had already relocated--he extorted my mother and mother-in-law for an additional $150, threatening not to load the car unless paid on the spot because there were a few blankets and a laundry hamper inside. Mind you, I had already paid an extra $100 in advance for minor personal items. When the vehicle arrived at my new location on May 27th, it had noticeable damage that absolutely was not there when it left Texas. The driver himself admitted that he hit low branches or a low pass and even showed me a video he recorded of the damage. He tried to cover up scratches on my roof with a white compound. If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. To make things worse, the driver refused to deliver to my street, even though it loops back to the main road, claiming he wouldn't be able to turn around--but somehow had no issue taking the car through rough terrain elsewhere. I tried to file a damage claim through RRAT, but they made the process intentionally difficult. They initially rejected my claim because I only had one body shop quote, even though legally, one quote is sufficient. As a new resident, starting a new job with three kids, my time was extremely limited--but I still went out of my way to get two quotes and all the supporting evidence they requested (before and after photos, videos, repair estimates, etc.). After submitting everything, they told me it had taken too long (about 7 weeks) and closed the claim. When I spoke with Jenna, she assured me the claim would be reopened if I re-submitted everything. I did so immediately. Then--within two days--they claimed I signed a BOL (Bill of Lading) stating there was no damage. I did not sign anything. If I had, I certainly wouldn't have signed off on a clean report while the driver himself was pointing out a massive scratch on my door. This company is dishonest, disorganized, and completely lacking in accountability. I have all the receipts, photos, and videos to back up every part of my story. I am now exploring other legal options. Bottom line: Don't make the same mistake I did. Avoid RRAT at all costs. You'll regret it.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. This is the most unprofessional, untimely, unorganized, and overall worst customer service experience I have EVER had. I had a booking with them for 3 weeks. In that time, they continued to increase my price and tell me I had bookings just to take a fee off of my credit card to then cancel the booking. I have still yet to receive my last payment back after cancellation and I have tried to reach them all day. I went with another company and spoke with them at 7:30am today and had my car on a truck in 4 hours. Do not accept their low ball offer and their poor customer service. I was also informed that after I submitted my cancellation request, they placed two posts to send my car at two different absurd prices to try to move it even after I requested cancellation. Find a BBB associated shipping company and go with them, you'll have much better luck. I would be happy to recommend somewhere and someone if you read this review. read more

We were under the gun to have our vehicle shipped after the first transport company supposedly "broke down" which we knew was not the case. Anyway, RoadRunner quoted us a price claiming that our vehicle was being shipped to a "dead area" and they needed a bit more cash to entice a carrier to take the load. We were greeted cheerfully during the initial phase of getting the vehicle picked up. We were told it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the car to get picked up and delivered to the agreed upon destination (which was 190 miles from where we were going to end up). We told them that it was okay as we were taking our time crossing the country in our motorhome and wanted to stop and visit family along the way. 2 - 3 weeks+ was perfect. Our car was picked up 6 days after the initial conversation by team drivers. Four days later we got a call from the driver stating that they wanted to drop the car off the following morning. Problem was we were still half-way across the country and hadn't stopped to visit family! So, the driver said that he would drop the car off at his yard and we could pick it up from there. A 3 hour detour out of our way. I e-mailed and phoned customer service, for two days, with no answer. I even attempted to use their on line service to no avail. On the third day, it took me 45 minutes of being on hold and then hearing a message to leave a message (not) before someone finally answered the phone. I explained that the car was not dropped where it was originally suppose to be dropped but 200 miles away, in Massachusetts, not Maine. The man told me someone from accounting would call me back in a couple of hours. After waiting for the couple of hours and not receiving a call from R/R, I called again and a rude young woman answered my call. I explained the situation, stating that I wanted a refund of the extra $200 as the car was not delivered to Maine as I had made arrangements for. She put me on hold then came back, and even more crudely and rudely and told me I was told what the rate was for there and I was S.O.L. to get a refund of any kind. What a racket. Run away from R/R Auto Transport. No one answers your call. It's almost as though when you make a reservation, your phone number gets logged into their system and when you try to speak to someone, they ignore the call, hoping you will go away. I'm telling you: RUN AWAY!!!! Find someone else to ship your car! When you read the reviews from others, believe them: they are not lying. RoadRunner Auto Transport is not a reputable company. We were hoping to have a nice mini vacation along the way but that was not to be. read more

After numerous calls to the general call center as well to the specific extension I was given, I have not been given a return call. Roadrunner did call me once to say my delivery was delayed for at least 8 days after the agreed upon date (still waiting so could be longer). I asked to speak to a manager and they said the manager would return my call once they were done with another call. That was 2 days ago. read more

Do your homework. When they want your business they will call and follow up. Once you book and you don't get a pick up in the window they promise...they vanish and don't return calls. I waited 15 days for a solid return call saying they found a driver to pick up my car. However, the price is now over 30% higher to pick up next day, "So can we get this booked"? I said no and to remove me from the pick-up list... and then get a call back and apparently the driver had a change of heart on his price. Not keeping to my original quote but close to splitting it. Be Flexible and I suggest go to a carrier who owns their own trucks read more

WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! I scheduled a pick up month and a half ago and they were no show. When making the reservation they were so easy to reach but when I called closer to the pickup date to know the details they magically vanished. The day of pickup came and they did not show up. They did not pick up the phones even when I called from 9am-9pm all day long, and when they did pick up they would put me on hold to check the status of my reservation and send me straight to voice message (this happened with 6 different people). The guy that made my reservation did not answer my emails, or answer at his extension. I am moving out of the country and my move was scheduled around the pickup date. I had to change my plane tickets and pay for it to stay with the car since I have nowhere to leave it. If the car is not picked up before my next flight I will be taking this to higher government organisms. Please stay away from the Company, worst mistake you will ever make. read more

If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. They suck, suck, suck. They are scammers! I had picked a day for my car to ship and when I got notification of a carrier assignment, it said +/- 2 days. I had picked the day I was leaving down, so I called and they advised me to pick an earlier date, which I did. Keep in mind this was 1 month before my move. A month went by without a carrier and lo and behold my pick up date passed and no one picked up my car. They didnt bother to tell me no one was coming and then they were closed the next day (Sunday). On Monday, they finally returned my many messages and voicemails and told me if I wanted my car shipped it would be 3 days later and cost $200 more. I had to take it. But I think it is crazy. If you need a car shipped, skip brokers like this and contact a carrier directly. The company which finally handled my move (A Absolute) was AWESOME. I only wish Roadrunner had 1% of their ethics and customer service. read more

My son joined the Coast guard this year and we needed to ship his Toyota truck from Washington State to Alabama. One of the Coast guard family's recommended Roadrunner Auto Transport so having never shipped a vehicle I called them for a quote and details, they checked in with me by phone for several weeks until I was ready to ship it. The vehicle was picked up on time and arrived within 2 days of the estimated arrival time. No damage and good communication, they made this as easy as shipping a vehicle across country can be. They will be my only call if I ever need to ship a vehicle again, They made my son a very happy kid! read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. This is a LONG review, but I think it's worth the read. This is the first review I've ever written. THIS WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE COMPANY to deal with and work with. I used them to ship my car from California to Louisiana as I was using the car to get me from Louisiana to North Carolina so I could get to school for a graduate program. I was told the car would be picked up and delivered on certain days and neither happened. I needed the car by a certain date so that I could get to school on time, which they said over the phone "was definitely going to happen". They were late to pick up my car, and then said "they couldn't guarantee a truck could come get it". A truck did come and get it finally, and then the truck broke down in the middle of Texas (which s**t happens, I get it. But how they handled it was the issue). When trying to communicate with management, I was on hold repeatedly and transferred repeatedly to finally hear that "nothing could be done" and that the car "could not come off the trailer to be picked up by another carrier truck". Luckily, my father figured out a way to take a bus from New Orleans to La Grange, Texas (total of 13.5 hours) and get the car off the trailer and drive it back to New Orleans (another 7 hours). Best part: I received a voicemail while my father was on the bus saying "NO WAY IT COULD COME OFF THE TRAILER. You will have to wait until the truck is fixed" (which, according to the driver, was 2 weeks as the motor and a hydraulic part were damaged or gone). But, my dad just got the car from the carrier truck and got it off the trailer. My dad is now in the car as I'm writing this and worked it out, with absolutely NO effort or help from Roadrunner Auto Transport. This company does absolutely nothing to help you or your situation. Please spend the extra 10-20% and go through a different company because this was a complete disaster. I paid 1100, and I should've paid 1300-1400 to get a reliable trucker to haul it at that price. Because of my dad, I don't need to spend 600 dollars in rental car fees to get me to school by this Tuesday. read more

Horrible communication and integrity. Worst consumer experience I have ever had. I gave them 2 weeks notice, a 3 day pick-up window and they were still 2 days late picking up. They told me every day for five days that my car was being picked up that day but only after I called to see why it was still there. After picking it up and transporting it, the driver could not deliver into the state we booked so we ended up meeting the driver at the border to get our car. Unbelievable. read more

CAUTION!!! This company is a rip off. Please don't do business with them. They were very professional until I made reservation with them, then all they would do is ignore my phone calls, and emails. When they finally answered one call I was forwarded from one person to another and this was after I spent several minutes on hold. I spent almost a whole day trying to get a pick up day and time. I am a senior citizen and I think it is awful of them to take advantage of a older person. I am happy that yelp is letting me make a comment because RoadRunner page states a 100% approval rate and I don't believe it. I think they deserve a minus 10. read more

RoadRunner Auto Transport is the WORST, MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, LYING company I have ever had the unfortunate experience to do business with. Do not use Road Runner Auto Transport!!! They lie about pick up, lie about delivery, do not answer their phones or emails. Bruce promised on time delivery and drop off but as soon as the order was placed he was no where to be found. Phone calls and emails went unanswered. I was told the car would be picked up on a certain date. No one had the courtesy to advise me that the car would not be picked up as promised until 7:30 PM. The pickup driver, who was 15 minutes from the location, said he has just been notified to pick up the car but due to the time, he would pick up the following day. I had plans to fly out that night so had to make arrangements for someone else to handle the car. Bruce also promised a delivery to my home with a 3 hour window notice. Days went by with no response. I was finally contacted by a dispatcher who said the car would be delivered on the side of the freeway in 40 minutes. At the time I was in a new home, new state with no transportation. When this was relayed to the dispatcher, I was told if I didn't make arrangements to meet the truck on the side of the freeway the car would go to Maine and they would catch me when they came back several days later. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were busy. I asked for a return call and no one ever called. The dispatcher actually said I would most likely not receive a return call. If you want to deal with a professional, ethical company look elsewhere because these guys are not it. I felt like I was dealing with a bunch of gangsters. read more

Don't EVER use this company. I wish we had known about the other review that stated all the problems, but the company we thought we were using was Alaska Car Transport. Turns out that is just a dba for Road Runner Auto Transport. All went well until we received a call on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 20, 2013 stating that our car was ready for pickup in Anchorage, Alaska. The problem is that we hired them to deliver our car to Fairbanks, Alaska. When we called to let them know that they delivered the car to the wrong city, they said they would deliver it to the correct city on Friday, August 23. On Thursday, August 22, we called to check on the delivery status. Roadrunner stated that they had no record of our conversation and had not talked to us since August 13. At that point they said our car would not be in Fairbanks until Friday, August 30. At this point, not trusting the company, we called our credit card company to dispute the transaction since things were going so badly. On Friday, August 23 we said we could pick the car up in Anchorage at 6 pm. They said the car would not be available for pickup after 4 pm, nor would it be available on the weekend. Then they assured us they would have it to Fairbanks on Monday, August 26 or Tuesday, August 27. On Monday, August 26 they said the car had been moved to Eagle River (not Anchorage, where it originally had been). They reiterated that the contract stated no specific delivery date. They also told us that they would not deliver the car until we released the dispute with the credit card company. So here we are...no car, racking up rental car fees while they continue to give us conflicting stories on where our car is and when it will be delivered. We now need to hire an attorney to get our car back. This is one of the WORST experiences I have ever had with a company. I'm truly afraid that they don't really know where our car is or that they are delaying delivery because they have damaged it. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I shipped my car from MA to FL the first week of 2015 and had the worst experience I've ever had in dealing with any company of any kind. After signing up with RoadRunner Auto Transport and communicating with the customer service department, a date was agreed upon for the transport of my automobile, that I had just purchased. That date was coordinated with the previous owner of the car to ensure that person is available upon pickup. When the date was closer, I talked to customer service to ensure that there will be a pickup driver at that location when the date arrived. Well, the date arrived and the previous owner was at the car all day waiting for the driver. When I called customer service, they said that they now need to secure a driver for the auto transport. Really? Then what was all that coordination for leading up to the pickup day? After over a week of waiting for a driver to be assigned, I decided to cancel the service and do the pickup on my own. I took a few days vacation, secured a U-haul truck and trailer, and did it myself. If I would have known about the terrible service from RoadRunner Auto Transport, then I would have never used them. Stay away from this company. read more

I had the exact same experience the other 1 star reviewers had. Signed up for a free quote. Once I received a quote they asked for my credit card number which is stupidly gave them. Then Road Runner went radio silent. No answers to calls, messages, texts, or emails. I tried more than a half dozen times from multiple phone numbers (I'm pretty sure they flagged or blocked mine) and was unable to reach them. On their recording it says to go on line and you can be connected to a customer service rep, but there is no such link or any way to chat online with them on their website. I eventually left them messages that I no longer wanted their services and cancelled my credit card. We contracted with another broker who was the complete opposite. Answers all texts, calls, etc. immediately and found us a reputable company to transport the car in the timeframe requested. Less than an hour after we accepted the bid from the new carrier, we received a call from Road Runner acting as if they were the new carrier and tried to contract the job! Crooks! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Been working with Anthony Alvarado in SD about shipping my classic truck from Base to Base for my PCS. After working for a while with this man (been doing training for a new AFSC) his prices were getting beat by more reputable and respectful agency. Well tonight (27 August 2020) Anthony called again but at 8:30pm (seems late right?). Anyways, he asked me about shipping my vehicle. I told him very professionally that we have decided to use someone else. From here he started prying asking questions. When I told him i was not comfortable releasing certain information he went off on a tangent. I told him to have a goodnight and hung up. Within 20 seconds of ending the call, He had another colleague call. As soon as I answered this man starting prying as well (fairly certain you could hear Anthony in the background). Kindly explained I found someone else to use and once again the man went off on a tangent. I told him as well to have a goodnight and as I was hanging up he replied "alright loser". For a "veteran owned" company acting this way to someone who is currently serving and trying to not go belly up to send his vehicle to a new PCS location, this sort of customer service should NOT be tolerated. I would gladly rate this company negative if I were able to. For anyone looking to ship a vehicle from this company BEWARE! read more

HORRIBLE customer service. They do not come through with what they promise you. I went online to get a quote then spoke with Patrick. I told him the date I wanted my mother in laws vehicle picked up in Florida. I was told that he could have it picked up that date, but if not the next day as a back up. Then he told me the price was going to be $200.00 more then the quote because FL is busy this time of year (I put in that the vehicle was coming from FL when I requested the quote). I agreed because he said he was able to have it picked up on the date that I wanted. On May 15th (the 16th was the agreed upon day) when I tracked it on RR website it said that a carrier had not been confirmed. I called and was assured there was plenty of time and they were just waiting for the carrier to confirm. I was told FL is really busy right now (I will not write in this each time I was told by one of their representatives that FL is busy right now, and each time I was told this it was as if they were surprised that FL is busy in May. I don't work in the industry, but I would assume that people are leaving FL in May to head back up North and this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone!) Needless to say we never heard from anyone. On the 16th website is still not showing a carrier assigned. I called customer service and was told that I do not have a guaranteed date and they are waiting for someone to cancel to get us in. WHAT?? I then call Patrick my sales agent of course he does not answer or respond to my voicemail. After MANY calls to CS, MANY emails to Patrick (which I know he was receiving because each time I emailed him I got a call from CS). I then get told that we have been bumped up to "Priority", On the 17th I receive a phone call telling me we are confirmed for pick up on the 20th. I asked are we CONFIRMED and was told yes. So, yea! My mother in law is flying out on the 21st. Yup, you guessed it no contact from the carrier on the 20th, website still says no carrier assigned. I call CS around 1:00 pm, was told not to worry they would contact the carrier. I give them until 6:00pm and call again and I am told that the carriers run until 9:00 pm, This is the first I have heard of this and normally I would have told them that my mother in law is not going outside to meet a stranger at 9:00 at night, but my brother in law was going to be there and we really wanted the car picked up! So, you guessed it no contact from the carrier. RR customer service shuts down @ 7:00 (Amazing that they do not have 24 hour service) They are not open on Sunday. MANY MANY phone calls/emails I do not hear from Patrick or CS. My mother in law is so upset she says cancel the transport. I sent an email stating we are cancelling and I expect a Full Refund and a phone call from a supervisor explaining what happened. By 10:00 on the 22nd I am furious and call them. I am told that the car was picked up on the 21st. I assure them that it was not and need to speak to a supervisor (there was not a supervisor in yet but one would call as soon as the got in). At 11:45 Pamela called and told me the car had been picked up. Again I told he that it had not been picked up, She placed me hold to talk with the transportation dept. then told me they were working on it and would call me back in 10-15 minutes. At 2:00 I called Pamela was not available. At 2:45 I get a text from the driver saying he is out front and needs someone to meet him. I tell him there is no one there. At 3:00 I called Pamela was not available. I tell customer service that the driver just showed up (no heads up on when they were coming, which I was told would happen) The CS rep told me VERY rudely that my transport had been cancelled. I told her I still needed to speak with Pamela. At 4:00 I called and even though I told CS rep that Pamela was suppose to call me back 4 hours ago I was told she was not available! Later that night I received an email stating my order was cancelled and I would be getting a full refund. So many lies I can not even count. Sales rep will tell you you have a confirmed pick up date...you don't. Nothing is confirmed, nothing is guaranteed. The worst part is after all of this not one person would speak to me directly. Patrick would not man up and talk with me, he just kept forwarding me to CS. Pamela (the supervisor) would not talk to me and explain what happened. No one ever called me I had to continually call them. I was never offered and explanation or any apology. read more

I do not recommend Roadrunner Auto Transport. I was recommended to them by a trusted family friend, but I would not suggest their services to anyone. I live in Michigan and I have purchased a car in Oregon. I was notified by the dealer that I purchased the car from when the car was picked up 11 days ago. Roadrunner's website estimates delivery times from Oregon to Michigan at 4-6 days. They gave me an estimated delivery date of today (11 days). The tracking system that Roadrunner offers still tells me that the car has not been picked up from the dealer. I have called and/or sent an email to Roadrunner everyday since the car left the dealer looking for an update. Even the couple of times that I was able to get through to a helpful employee, it was only after a painful number of attempts. Today I spoke with my assigned carrier and they told me that my estimated delivery is still another 3 days away. I was never notified of the switch. read more

Used this broker to transport a car in November 2017. The driver of the delivery truck nearly destroyed our vehicle upon delivery and then left the scene without leaving the bill of lading or getting paid his cash Roadrunner was not responsive in helping us with a claim against the driver. Their claims department is actually one person who works 2-3 days per week. Therefor she was unable to return my calls in a timely manner and made no progress in making a claim against the driver. I was hung out to dry by the broker and the driver. Road runner could not get the bill of lading for me nor did they have a current certificate of insurance on file for the driver. Every single time I called roadrunner and pressed "1" for existing bookings I was on hold for no less than 15 minutes. Every single time I called the claims department I got voicemail. In the end all I could get was the certificate of insurance for the driver (which was not current) and "good luck" from the claims rep. Not good customer service and the company does not stand by their promises on their website. I got burned real bad this time. More than likely, due to the ineptitude and dishonesty of the driver they booked for me, I will be out of pocket thousands. read more

I used this company in December 2011. My car was freshly painted and to be transported to avoid salt from roads. They rescheduled 5 times and never showed up each time. Poor customer service and communication on the status of the pickup for my vehicle. Finally promised to make my vehicle a priority and pick up first thing in the morning. That morning I called and pickup was pushed to the afternoon from 12-2 pm. I waited 6 hours by my car for a pickup and was given excuses each time that the driver was an hour away. In the end the driver stated he was not coming and he had problems with his truck. The next day someone went to take the car from the body shop and no one informed me. They outsource the work to another company Ambela (We Tow for you, Inc.). Once that company had my vehicle Road Runners did not care. My car was kept in an unknown location over night until I threatened to report it stolen. When my vehicle was delivered it came damaged to the point the whole car had to be repainted. Scratches, cracked bumpers, broken door latches, etc. Its been a huge hassle working with these companies as they deny liability and will not provide insurance information. I did my own research and was able to make a claim and had most of the damage covered but still a loss. Do not use this company! read more

I was given two quotes for different dates but same locations. The quotes were both the same price. When I called to book the transport I spoke with Christian Collado and while he was very gracious answering all my questions he informed me that I was misquoted and it would cost FOUR HUNDRED dollars more than I was quoted. Great experience booking but terrible thereafter. The company said it wouldn't be an issue to pick up my vehicle on a specific date. However, when the date arrived, it was an issue because they still had not identified a carrier. It was extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone. Every time I called customer service, I got the voicemail. Although they have an online chat function, the online agent provided very little information and just stated they would send a message to the company's dispatcher. As an active duty servicemember, I do not recommend this company. The worst part is they tried to raise the price on me significantly. I was told the transport would cost $925. However, after a carrier was identified, I got a call saying the price would be $1390 instead. When I pushed back, they did not budge and said it would be the same price with any other carrier due to current demand. Not true. I cancelled, contacted another carrier, received a price similar to $925, and received my car quickly without issues. read more

Horrible customer service. Not at first though. When you book the shipment roadrunner is all helpful and agreeable. Once you book the delivery you become just another transaction. I got a tentative confirmation about the pickup which I had to arrange for someone to meet the driver because the car was being brought across the country to me. I called road runner several times, left several messages and got no response. I thought that was strange because between the time I inquired about a booking until I scheduled the booking I got a call every single day(for months). So I looked at the phone number I got with my booking confirmation and the number I used to schedule my transport and they are 2 different phone numbers. I called the number I used to get a quote and someone answered right away. I gave them my booking number, explained that I needed to make some contact changes for the pickup and mentioned that my tentative booking was not yet confirmed. This was Friday and the pickup was tentative for Monday. The fellow assured me that they would pick up Monday between 9-11. Then he transferred me so that I could give the new contact number information. He transferred me to their other number which was the number I got with my booking confirmation. The one where no one ever answers or returns your call. So I called back. They put me on hold and then I was disconnected. So I waited. I called again and just quickly told the guy I needed to change the contact info and please don't transfer me to the other number because no one ever answers. He said "Oh, I can change that for you!" He took my info I felt okay about it. So my old contact got a call from the pickup driver a day earlier than the tentative date to make arrangements for a pick up that day instead of the day I had made arrangements for based on the assurances if Roadrunner. If Roadrunner could have given me the info for the delivery company this would have been so simple. The driver explained to me that Roadrunner is a broker that just throws pickups out into a computer and the delivery companies pick them up. Also Roadrunner could have just said this is tentative. The driver will contact you to confirm your actual pickup. But no REPLY TO JOHN S. I specifically asked one of your customer service reps if my confirmation was tentative. His response was that my pickup day would be Feb 25 between 9-11. That is pretty specific information. read more

This company deserves no stars! Obviously their care goes the same for their clients as the people who do services for them as well & they still manage to take the bigger end of the stick!!. I am a Transporter who tried contracting a vehicle from them. Please don't get us all mixed up with Transporters who are careless, I can humbly say we take care of our customers thoroughly throughout the process and have the positive ratings to prove it on our loadboard(All except 1 being disputed, given by none other than these morons in retaliation for having given them their well-deserved negative rating). What we don't take a shine for is idiotic people who don't know their left from their right. My story goes like this.. I contracted a vehicle to transport through Lance & immediately called the location(a dealer) right after to make sure the vehicle was ready to go. A dealer sales-rep., for whatever reason, confirmed the vehicle was there & therefore ready-another incompetent here's why... The driver arrived within the hour, only to find out there was no vehicle to transport. Errr? The dealer had shipped the vehicle with another transporter up to 2 weeks before. 2 weeks before! After reading some of the reviews on here now I know why. Roadrunner had no idea of this vehicles status for a span of 2 weeks from when they originally got the order. Unbelievable! Communication with Lance at that point was still ok & he genuinely sounded sorry for the situation. Enough, to clearly state he would have the Accounting Dept. send out a $100 check for the dry run, a fee used to cover fuel mileage & time wasted. I called to confirm a check had, in fact, been issued. None. He would call me when it was issued. Next day 2 calls made to him & no check. He now has to get approval from his boss. Third day, midday, no boss approval and he wouldn't be in the office until later. He's supposed to call me back. Nothing. I call the company phone an hour before their closing and get a hold of the boss. Paul, I believe was his name, adamantly says he will not approve any monies as Lance had stated. The nerve!! No word, no honor, no ethics! The mileage driven & our time wasted and he simply says "Nope, can't help ya sorry. We'll make it up to you on the next one". Really?? No lesser amount? NOTHING!! We are at a loss & they couldn't give a (u-know-what)!! Had never done business with them before & won't everrr! Would definately recommend for people to keep on the search for a more trustworthy business. These people don't t know what they're doing OR they know toooo well. Looks like they make money this way, because that vehicle was under contract to them & will be collecting some $150, or so, for its cancellation without notification. So, for doing NOTHING they cash in!..And everyone else well.. you get the picture. read more

The poor review still stands. Road Runner attempted to have my honest review of them removed from the www.transportreviews.com website that compiles auto transport reviews from customers, claiming that they could not find my quote or booking numbers. I have confirmation emails stating otherwise and am working with the website to have my review added back. This just adds to the evidence that this company is incompetent and/or dishonest. Go elsewhere for your auto transport needs. read more

Like most other reviews, Roadrunner Auto Transport is horrible and they lie. They charged my CC $244 when they dispatched a truck to pick my car up a car I purchased from Florida. The truck driver was a day late and then he couldn't load the car onto the truck. It is a stock Z06 corvette. I disputed the charges and Roadrunner said they would refund my $244, but never did. When I disputed the charges again, they said it was my fault that the car had wide wheels (they are stock) and that the $244 was their broker fee for dispatching the truck (even though it was never transported). Even though they have some of the lowest rate, I highly recommend using a more reputable company like Reliable or Passport that own their trucks and are not brokers. read more

This is the worst customer service for any service I ever had in my life. I will update on my review and provide FACTS to prevent anyone from going through the same experience. I called them and finally got confirmation that a driver will come pick up my car on May 1st. In the midst of that I wrote the yelp review on 4/27/2015. I called again just to double check and was put on hold for a longer period of time (since they know who is calling), and was told with no explanation, that my confirmation had been canceled ( Monday 4/27/2015). I asked them why since we just agreed that there was a driver and the lady said I cannot tell you the reason , it is coming from upper management. At that point, I was debating whether or not to drive my car to NY myself and just leave my rotation earlier than I had anticipated. The next day, a different lady named Melissa calls saying I am so sorry, they should not have canceled the order, if you still haven't found a different shipping company I will be your main contact from now on. She let me know that they had dropped me because they saw my yelp review....That is how their CUSTOMER SERVICE is. She said she would give me a gift card if I agreed to take my review down and still ship with them. I said I just want my car shipped to NY safely and I had a few personal items with me (TV, Coffee machine, some boxes). I told her Matt said that was ok in the beginning. She said no problem, I will let the driver know so you will not be charged additional. The date we agreed on the phone was May 7th, but keep in mind that their agreements /terms and conditions say that they DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY DATE. PAY ATTENTION TO THAT. Even though Matt sales rep said They absolutely guarantee it and misinformed me. My original request with Matt had been that the car get to NY on the May 2-3rd window. May 1st comes and the driver comes and sees my luggage (which I had told Melissa over the phone) and says I need to charge you $200. I told him that she had said it was ok and I would not be charged additional. He said Sorry, that's the company's fault. I call her on the spot and of course, she does NOT answer. I left a message when the driver was there. And furthermore, he tells me he is not leaving for NY until Monday the May 4th (similar to Sean I's story below). He said I would need to pay him $200 in NY in cash separate from the money order for the company. Fast forward to yesterday Sun May 10th, the driver was very rude when I asked when and where he would be dropping it off. He said he did not know whether he would make Sun or Monday and when I told him I really need it here by Sunday he said " I dont work for you I don't care how much you're paying me." He also told me he will have to meet me somewhere else from the address I had given him so I would need to find a ride to meet him. Again, Matt said Door to Door transport guaranteed, another lie he told me. He told me Sunday Afternoon, and finally around 8:30pm, he texts saying I'm here... He gives me the address and I go with my friend and he's parked on a oneway highway off the ramp... I have a picture to show anyone who does not believe it. He then puts my car down, opposite of the traffic direction in a ONE WAY HIGHWAY. I said... "can you please turn my car around?" He says " you can't turn your car around?" Umm.. No not in NY one way highway street....I payed him the Money order for $1000 and $200 cash and demanded a receipt of payment. He would not give me my receipt for the $200 saying he gave me the $1000 money order receipt from the company and I don't need it. At that point we were off the ramp of a one way highway and it was nighttime, and I just decided whatever. Today, Melissa called me back asking if I am satisfied and if I would take my review down. I told her my story and she says, " You should not have paid him $200." Yes... I KNOW that... obviously. I called and you didn't pick up on Friday and ( I also left a message last week when the driver came to pick up my car which you didn't get and return my call). Obviously you don't answer on weekends because you don't work on weekends which I understand so I had no choice to pay him since he had my car.... She just said I'm sorry and said that she will try to talk to the driver... Good luck because I know he will not return it. If Matt hadn't confused me in the first place this huge headache would all have been prevented. If he had said, we sometimes cannot do door to door transport and I cannot exactly for sure say Friday 6pm... I have some friends in school and other schools on rotations who were looking to ship their cars and if it had been a great experience I would have definitely referred them. However through this experience I will have to refer them to another more trustworthy and reliable company. In total I had to pay $200 cash to the driver, $1000 money order to the shipping company and $145 for roadrunner service, with my original date=May 2-3rd pushed to May10th. read more

DO NOT USE! They lie to get your business. I needed a car moved from So Cal to Nor Cal was told they would pick the car up the next day and have it to me the following day. So after reading all the great reviews on there website I went with them even though they were $75.00 more. After they did not pick the car up the next day I called them to find out what was going on and I was told they did not have a driver yet. I advised the lady on the phone about my conversation with Ryan and why I chose them, her reply, "the contract does not specify when they are to pick the vehicle up". Later that night I did some more poking around and found all there bad reviews, so I decided to give till noon the next day (Friday). When I called early morning they still had not found a driver. I called back at noon and they still did not have a driver and I again told the lady on the phone my conversation with Ryan the sales person, her reply, "He did not say that" my reply, Your calling me a liar? She then asked me to give her 1 hour, my reply, WE ARE DONE! I called ARA Transport out of Santa Fe Springs. They picked the vehicle up that night and was delivered to me at 8:00pm Saturday (the next day!) and for $75.00 cheaper. read more

Promised the world but did not deliver. Told me they would pick up my daughters car by a certain date and never found anyone to do it. As I found out most of the "transport" companies are brokers. Roadrunner gave me a date and said it could go a day or so in each direction. We then booked a flight home for my daughter allowing a few extra days. A few days before the ship date they still did not have a shipper committed. I call and the dispatcher told me she was confident they would find someone so I let it go. Finally the day it was supposed to be picked up I called again and no one could be bothered to call back. Fortunately I called another company that was able to find someone within a few hours. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I spoke with Zach at ext. 511. He was really nice when I was getting a quote and told me that they charge a deposit then I pay the driver once the car is delivered. Then I received multiple calls saying I need to accept the terms to lock in my pick up date then the next thing you know my card was charge $1120!!! I was told there's a deposit first then you pay the driver. When I called back to speak with Zach he was extremely rude, didn't talk to me and immediately transferred me to someone in customer service who seemed to have no idea what was going on. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company and will never recommend or use this company again! I'm not sure how Google reviews show a positive rating and Yelp is completely different! Every Yelp review is talking about the horrible service everyone has received. I'm glad I saw the bad reviews in time to cancel the charge and not have them ship my car!!! read more

Road Runner did a great job for me! Shipped a Ford Raptor from upstate New York to Southern California. They were responsive, competitively priced, and helpful. It took a couple days longer to get the vehicle picked up than estimated, however the vehicle showed up a week early as the transit time was far less than the estimate. The carrier was Cargo Management Group, and they did an excellent job! Made it from NY to CA in 3 days with 2 drivers alternating. Wow! Vehicle was well cared for and in perfect shape when it arrived. Couldn't be happier! read more

I couldn't agree more with the comments below. In short, the customer service was excellent until the car was placed on the truck. It took 3 phone calls to have a supervisor call me back with respect to my delivery time and instead of diffusing the situation the supervisor was incredibly nasty. Seriously, walk away and avoid this company. It is not worth the stress. read more

my experience started off good but then when there was an issue it all went downhill. the carrier they selected for my job Excellence Auto Transport was unprepared, borrowed wenches and my boys to help load vehicle. Upon delivery I advice that the hood was missing on one of my vehicles and they driver tried to insinuate that it was not there and then called his brother to look in his yard for it and then told me to file a claim which RoadRunner Auto Transport has denied because a form from wasn't filled out that I didn't know about. I would not recommend either company going forward as both have washed their hands of the situation. read more

Needed to move a car from San Jose, CA to New Jersey. The quote was about the same as a few others I tried. The deposit amount quoted on the phone and when the final proposal came in email off by $100, as in more upfront, but it was resolved via email. This didn't change the overall price, just how much is on deposit once they assign a driver. Nothing was charged until driver was assigned a few days before. Roadrunner always answered my phone calls and accommodated me for changing pick-up dates. I thought their customer service was polite and helpful. The driver (White Nights Trucking), Vlad was very friendly, calling with a 2hr timeframe for pickup, then when he was 10 minutes from showing up. He showed up on time within the window. The car was loaded quickly, we were allowed the one suitcase in the trunk as the agreement showed. On the other end, Vlad called to see where / when we'd be for delivery as we were having issues on our house closing. He was able to wait a day before delivering and brought the car to our new house. Even though it was challenging to bring the car to us on a cul-de-sac and with some narrow streets to get there, he did a great job showing up on time and calling to give updates where he was. The car arrived without damage. We paid the balance in cash and it was overall a very smooth transfer from coast to coast. I'd have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the miscommunication on the deposit amount. read more

This is a horrible, horrible company. I have gone through the same situations as all of the below reviews have with them and when I asked for management to complain to, they stopped returning my phone calls and management has not responded to me. They told me my car was being picked up "today: every day for 2 weeks. After which they asked me to pay extra for an expedited fix to the problem. I lost a customer because I kept changing the delivery date based on the info they provided me. Do not use. read more

RED FLAG #1: "Changing Estimate" Estimate jumps from $885 to $945! I gave the same pick up location and drop off location during initial communication, no changes whatsoever. Estimate suddenly increased closer to booking. RED FLAG #2: "Drop-Off Date" When Mr. N.P-R. processed my booking papers, he didn't write down the DROP-OFF DATE in the paperwork. I immediately requested that it be noted in the paperwork because it is very CRUCIAL that the vehicle arrive on the exact date! This was his response... "We do not write down the drop-off date in the booking but it is noted in our INTERNAL COMMUNICATION." I told him, I will be flying from my current location to the drop off point where I will be staying just for two days, a very small window... I will book flights and hotels for this purpose and it is therefore of UTMOST IMPORTANCE that the vehicle arrive on the specific day I requested. His response: "That's fine." They will NEVER put down drop off dates in the paperwork because they know it will probably not happen. RED FLAG #3: "Assigning Carriers" When they say "We have not assigned a carrier for you"... what they actually mean is that "We haven't found someone who is willing to bring your car from Point A to Point B." ONE MONTH after booking and one day before pick-up date, they still haven't "assigned a carrier," in the meantime, I already booked flights and hotels to receive the vehicle on the other end. They do not care. RED FLAG #4: "Ready Date" instead of "Pick-Up Date" They never use the words Pick-Up Date, they will only say "Ready Date" in the papers. This way there are no specific calendar dates to comply with in picking up the vehicle. "Ready Date" to this company means they can pick up any time they want after that date unless you cancel the booking. All this time, in the customers minds, it's "Pick-Up date." After booking, they will often say "Nothing is guaranteed." RED FLAG #5: "Dry Run Policy" Read "Terms and Conditions #14" of the Booking Confirmation! If you're 30 minutes late in the agreed time and location, a $100 Dry Run fee will be imposed! This means they could be several days late in picking up your vehicle, but if you're 30 minutes late, you get fined a hundred bucks! For every 30 minutes after the initial 30 minutes, it will be another $75! If they don't pick up your vehicle on time or the arranged date and you get upset, read this first: "...Customer exhibiting offensive, inappropriate, or vulgar language or behavior, the dry-run fee may be imposed." So folks, you cannot get upset, you cannot curse at them or use what they would consider offensive language or else you pay more... this is of course after you wait several days for pick up, oops, I meant Ready Date... you just need to smile and swallow everything and pray that they will deliver on time! RED FLAG #6: "AWOL Reps" The moment they sense trouble, good luck talking to the same person who gave you the estimate or booking confirmation! MY ADVISE: RUN AWAY from ROAD RUNNER! It was a blessing in disguise that they were not able to find/assign a carrier on my "Ready Date"... otherwise, my son's car would be hostage to a joke of a company. During booking, they will say everything is fine, but when you're hours away from requested pick up date and still nothing, they say "Sorry we're just brokers, we cannot guarantee anything!" I cancelled my booking after "Ready Date"... I would rather drive 1,100 miles than trust these liars with my son's vehicle. If they cannot pick up on the arranged day, why should I trust them to drop off on the agreed day? read more

How come I had to go thru Google to rate this company on yelp? I am thru the roof frustrated with this company at the moment. Question! Why will you reach out and communicate so well when you trying to get my money and then turn ghost the moment you apply charges to my card? Your representative called me and told me a driver would be to my house in about the next 3hrs this was roughly around 4:21 PM on 11 December 2020. They said they just had to get my approval so they could confirm it. So I agreed and poof like that I soon see a pending for my payment. Before hanging up he reassures me that the driver will be reaching out to me soon. Around 8pm 11 December 2020 my car is still parked at my house, my phone has not rang nor have I received any texts from this "Driver" so I (the person who paid my hard earned for your services) start trying to contact your company. I get no answers at any number I have been contacted from or your customer service while calling. I ask your online support for questions and REQUEST that they call me or my wife and leave both numbers. I got an email stating that there is no delays and that the driver has 48hrs to pick up my car (would have been cool if the guy that told me 3hrs initially told me that prior to charging my card). Additionally they said in the email that they would have the driver reach out to me. Still NO ONE called me like I requested and it is now 13 December 2020, and still havent gotten that call from the driver like they said I would. Obviously I (the paying customer) didnt deserve a callback since I paid you already right!? You are moving someone's car! Cant you have someone on call with computer from their home to take a concerned customers call? I mean im sure you have something like this lined up anyways with COVID-19 for during business hours. I mean vehicles are not just picked up, moved, and delivered during business hours. I'm still praying for a happy ending to this story. Your business sounded too good to be true when I was initially speaking to someone from this company while I was getting quotes, and I was excited to do business with this company. The service I have received since makes me sad. Communication. Communication. Communication. If you want repeat business, word of mouth advertising, good reviews it's too easy. Be up front and honest from the beginning i.e the following: Your vehicle may be picked up within the next 3 hours or up to the next 48 hours. We will not be reachable during calls or online messaging after hours or over the weekend but if you have any issues please call when we open on the next business day. Please take my views as a customer as a chance to improve the way you do business. I'm sure that I am not the only person who would feel dissapointed in the service I have received but you have a chance to take the info and make improvements. *Update* My car just got picked up. I got a call at hr 46 after I agreed to pay from the driver. Pickup went well. I will update my review once my car is delivered. read more

I recently went out onto the worldwide web looking for specialty vehicle transport from the Carolinas to remote northwest Washington, a distance of more than 3,000 road miles. I received an onslaught of various types of quotes and offers from many sources, some were almost instantaneous. Through a review process the onslaught was whittled down to RoadRunner and included the major national transporters and brokers. The pickup and delivery points were not at large urban centers, but RoadRunner developed an offer that was competitive and worked to the need date at the delivery point, so we initiated the early steps of getting the order started, including payment. I was not able to get comfortable with turning over my specialty vehicle to a transport team I did not know locally and decided to backout of the order. I called RoadRunner and explained my situation. I was bumped up two levels to management within two minutes of initiating the phone call, and less than two minutes later I was told that cancelling the order was NOT a problem, and that I would receive a 100% refund of my more than US$ 2,300.- cost. No pleading, no bargaining, Roadrunner was totally sympathetic to my situation, and it took that long to address the issue to my total satisfacton. A phone call to my credit card company 45 hours later confirmed that RoadRunner had indeed credited back to my account the full US$ value of the transaction!!!! I obviously cannot speak to an actual transport experience with RoadRunner, where they actually transported a vehicle for me, but based on how they worked to get me a workable route and dates, and then the no-questions-asked 100% refund of my money, I have to say that I am impressed with the effort RoadRunner exerted to try to help me, and then allowed me to simply walk away from the deal....no penalties, no fees, no fines. I even offered them a fee for the time invested, and they absolutely said thank you, but no thank you to this offer. Facit. My experience with RoadRunner was brief, but had a very positive ending for me..the customer! At some point, I will either ship my vehicle or return my vehicle from the northwest. When I do, I will definitely give RoadRunner the opportunity to provide a quotation for the services needed, and very possibly use them. I would recommend to anyone reading this, to push them to get what you want for pickup and delivery dates and locations, get a good ballpark price, and then push back a bit to ensure you get good answers for whatever your concerns are. They will deliver the goods on your request. Michael Charleston / Vancouver read more

My recent encounter with Roadrunner Auto Transportation has been nothing short of a nightmare, resulting in unparalleled stress and dissatisfaction. The glaring issues I faced with their service include exorbitant wait times, unhelpful customer service representatives, a lack of transparency, and the inability to reach anyone at a managerial level. To make matters worse, money has been deducted from my account, yet the promised services remain unfulfilled. The primary source of my frustration was the staggering amount of time I spent on hold--eight hours spread across three agonizing days. The excessive wait times not only proved to be a colossal waste of time but also exacerbated the stress of entrusting my car's transportation to a seemingly unreliable service. This level of communication breakdown is simply unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. Adding insult to injury, when I did manage to connect with a customer service representative, the experience was disheartening. The few individuals I spoke with were not only unhelpful but downright rude. Their lack of empathy and refusal to escalate my concerns to a manager only intensified my feelings of helplessness. In a situation where my money had been taken without receiving the promised services, I expected a level of urgency and professionalism that was sorely lacking. Furthermore, the vague timeframe provided for the delivery of my car from North Carolina to Colorado only contributed to the overall frustration. The lack of concrete information left me in the dark about when I could expect my vehicle to arrive, adding unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation. Equally concerning is the absence of a direct line to the corporate office. The inability to contact someone at a higher level to address my concerns is indicative of a lack of accountability within the company. It is both alarming and unacceptable that customers are left without a clear channel to voice their grievances when services are not rendered despite payment being deducted. In summary, my experience with Roadrunner Auto Transportation has been a complete disappointment. The combination of interminable wait times, unprofessional customer service, lack of transparency, and the inability to reach a higher authority has left me deeply dissatisfied. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution and explore alternative options to ensure a more reliable and customer-focused car transportation service. read more

I wish there was an option for -100 stars. This is by far the worse company to exist in the USA. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly horrendous my experience with RoadRunner Auto Transport has been. This company's incompetence and complete lack of professionalism have left me flabbergasted and infuriated. I initially hired them to transport my car from New York to Florida, and that's when my ordeal began. They failed to pick up my car on the agreed-upon date, leaving me stranded and anxious. What's worse is that they still haven't managed to pick up my car or deliver it to its destination, despite their promises. Attempting to contact this company is an exercise in futility. Phone calls go unanswered, and if by some miracle you get through, you're subjected to an eternity on hold before eventually having to hang up on yourself due to frustration and lack of patience. Emails are equally ignored, as if my concerns and inquiries don't even matter to them. When I finally managed to get someone from the company on the phone, they had the audacity to inform me that my car was ready for pickup but required an additional payment of $300 to $400 beyond the original quote. This blatant attempt at price gouging left me dumbfounded. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the person on the other end of the line, presumably the owner, responded with an astounding level of rudeness. He callously stated, "Too bad for you, I'll cancel your order," before hanging up on me. I implore anyone reading this review to steer clear of RoadRunner Auto Transportat all costs. This company is not only a broker of incompetence, but a prime example of how not to conduct business. Their false promises, lack of communication, and outright hostility toward customers make them a blight on the industry. Even their hollow assurances of using reviews to improve ring hollow, as my experience only worsened after encountering them. Do not give RoadRunner Auto Transport the chance to deceive you into thinking they'll improve. They are a disgraceful excuse for a business, and it would be a grave mistake to consider entrusting them with your transportation needs. Save yourself the headache, stress, and undoubtedly wasted money by avoiding RoadRunner Auto Transport. Their actions are not only unacceptable but border on deceitful and dishonest. OK if you read reviews before you make a decision --READ THIS REVIEW--- Great company when you need your auto picked-up and delivered-- they will do the job and the service works---Now for the Good and the bad. BAD - once they get your money they will NEVER talk to you on the phone again. Everything is done on their "CHAT" --More on that later in the "GOOD" More on the BAD Their phone system is set up to book and collect money ONLY never will you talk to a person again after you book and pay with credit card If you call and we did maybe 7 or 8 times you get a message that says "Due to high volume of calls blah blah blah" and then hangs up. EVERYTHING is done on chat. If you like to talk to someone this is NOT you carrier broker. They are just brokers they do not have any vehicles. The company is run to take your money and then you deal with the real transport company. OK so that is it -- Now let's talk about the Good Good - They perform - I paid for top deck -- I got top deck-- I was promised delivery on a date and time and they delivered early. They communicated with me via email and were timely and although they had information that was behind the real delivery times they communicated every step via email or chat. Now for the best-- They brokered my Telsa Model S to be delivered by Golden Empire LLC in Los Angeles -- Golden State was FANTASTIC-- Delivered professionally, on time and took pictures of me with my car and text messaged me my photo's. They drove the car around before delivering it to me to make sure everything worked- walked around the car with me to ensure everything was perfect. Empire made Road Runner look good. Summary-- Go with Roadrunner IF you prefer chat over the phone. They work and they do stay in touch with you ONLY with chat and email. Their system works and they do what they promised DO NOT go with Roadrunner if you are a people person and chat and email is not to your liking as their phone system is ONLY designed to talk and return calls before you pay. You will NEVER talk to someone again once you pay. Final thought-- All of these brokers may all be the same but Roadrunner performed and that is the final -- three stars is all they get because of their phone system ---but again I had changes and they worked with me, Key factor is to get the real phone to the real workers and once Roadrunner has taken your money forget them and work with the real company not them read more

Our vehicle was picked up on November 18, 2024, marking the start of what turned out to be one of the most frustrating and disappointing service experiences we've ever encountered. While the booking process initially gave us a positive impression, with the agent being polite and helpful, everything went downhill from there. The customer service team's behavior was appalling. On multiple occasions, they were outright rude to us during phone conversations, and more than once, they hung up mid-call, leaving us without answers to our concerns. Adding to the frustration, they repeatedly misled us, insisting that the vehicle was picked up on November 21, 2024, when we knew it had already been taken on November 18. This level of dishonesty was not only unprofessional but entirely unacceptable. To make matters worse, no one informed us about significant delays caused by the truck breaking down, nor that a different carrier had to be assigned to complete the delivery. This critical change in plans was never communicated to us, leaving us completely uninformed and powerless to make any adjustments or inquiries. Despite assurances of live updates, there were none, forcing us to repeatedly chase information that should have been provided proactively. The vehicle was originally scheduled to arrive on Friday, November 22, 2024, but instead, it did not reach us until late Sunday, November 24, 2024. When the new driver finally delivered the car, he revealed that he had only picked it up on November 22, confirming our growing suspicion that the timeline provided by the company was riddled with lies. The fact that the driver managed to transport the vehicle in just two days directly contradicted the earlier falsehoods we had been told about the pick-up and delivery schedule. This entire ordeal was marked by consistent dishonesty, a complete lack of professionalism, and a shocking disregard for basic customer service standards. We were lied to, ignored, and disrespected at every step of the process. What began as a routine service quickly turned into a nightmare of frustration and miscommunication. We would never recommend this company to anyone, including our family and friends. The experience was so atrocious that we feel compelled to warn others to avoid this service at all costs. It was an absolutely unacceptable and disheartening experience that no customer should ever have to endure. read more

WORST experience with customer service ever. Sales guy who answered and gave quote was great. $700 door to door. Nothing good after that. Price changed at the last minute and an additional $300.00 was added. Now we are in this $1K for transport from CA to WA. It was too late to change at this point due to time constraints. Carrier assigned (Omega Express) was a complete idiot. He changed pick up times 5x over the course of 48 hours thus holding my 80+ year old parents hostage at their location because they thought he was coming when he said. Each time. He knew every time he called he was not going to make it since he was calling from LA and they were in Palm Desert. Any idiot can do that math. Finally, 24 hours later agrees to meet them in a parking lot NOT at their home. They agreed to a Costco near their home and gave him the address. An hour later, they called again and he was at a Costco 45 min away from them. Not even the same town listed on the paperwork. Driver then proceeded to shake them down for $800.00 CASH for the pick up WHICH WAS PREPAID BY ME via credit card. 3 days later at the delivery location, he then made another 87 year old drive to a parking lot NOT his residence, at which time he demanded $500.00 CASH for the delivery, knowing it's been prepaid. I called him and told him to get it together and deliver the vehicle. At this point its after 8:00 pm PST and nobody at RoadRunner will answer, nor will he call his boss at Omega. I sent him via his cell a pdf of the receipt showing "Paid in Full". He refused to deliver. Through all of this, I was never able to reconnect with the sales guy that set it up, dealt with rude customer service people that were no help, and a driver that maybe has a double digit IQ. I have spent hours on the phone during the process trying to fix this. Vehicle still not delivered. There is no corporate info anywhere I could find to go around the customer service number and speak to an executive at RR. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use this company. I will be filing a formal complaint to the BBB because of the hard tactics used trying to exploit seniors for cash at the time of pick up and delivery. It was bait and switch with the price and the "door to door" delivery service is non existent when you are being scammed. Do not use these crooks. read more

Deceptive Practices and Poor Customer Service - A Critical Review of Roadrunner Transport My recent experience with Roadrunner Transport was highly disappointing and marked by a series of misrepresentations and logistical failures. From the initial quote to the final delivery, nearly every aspect of the service fell short of what was promised. In early May 2025, I was provided with a quote for vehicle transport. However, the very next day, the price increased under the pretext of newly added "taxes." This sudden adjustment was neither disclosed upfront nor explained in detail, raising concerns about transparency. After verbally agreeing to a specific pickup date and location, I was informed just two days prior to pickup that both had changed--pickup was delayed by a day, and I was required to meet the driver at an alternate location. This last-minute change forced me to rearrange my travel plans, nearly caused me to miss my flight, and resulted in additional out-of-pocket expenses for an unplanned Uber ride. The complications continued at the delivery stage. I was informed the day before that the drop-off location had changed, with the company claiming their vehicle could not legally access the originally agreed-upon address. To verify this claim, I contacted the California Highway Patrol and was informed there were no restrictions on the transport vehicle for that location. This change, too, led to another costly Uber ride. To make matters worse, upon delivery, the driver unexpectedly demanded an additional $200 in cash, citing the weight of personal items--specifically a mattress and some clothes--in the truck bed. This demand came just 15 minutes before delivery, leaving me with little choice and a strong sense of being pressured. When I reached out to Roadrunner Transport to express my concerns and request an adjustment, I was met with indifference. The representative I spoke with showed no empathy and merely directed me to the fine print of the contract. In summary, my experience with Roadrunner Transport involved shifting prices, broken commitments, surprise fees, and inadequate customer service. I strongly advise others to proceed with caution--or better yet, consider alternative providers. Recommendation: Not Recommended read more

BUYER BEWARE.... The absolute WORST experience ever with a shipping company. We ship my daughters Wrangler from NY to college in FLA. Our vehicle was picked up on 8/22, with an "estimated" delivery date of 8/25, which after waiting ALL day for a call about pick up time and NOT hearing from anyone, they changed the delivery date to 8/26 (which we only knew after logging into the portal because NOBODY would answer our calls or emails). 8/26 comes and goes, NO WORD from anyone about delivery. We called Road Runner numerous times, sat on hold for hours, sent emails that no one responded to. When we finally got in touch with someone from RR they informed us that they did not know where our vehicle was or when it would be delivered and that THEY hired a company therefore it was not their responsibility.... BUYER BEWARE!! Our vehicle was missing for 11 days - ELEVEN DAYS!!! I had to go to the police station to file criminal charges due to the fact that there was ZERO communication and no updates on location or delivery. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They accepted ZERO responsibility for this situation, they were hanging up on us, transferring us to unending holds, and continuously pawned it off on the company they hired to ship our car. They gave us excuses such as "traffic" and "weather". I have NEVER sat in traffic for 11 days and we live on the east coast, weather was not a factor during these dates either. The scariest part is, there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. They refused to take our calls and when they did (after being on hold for hours)... it was responses like, "call the company that has your car" (which we tried numerous times to no avail) "Delays happen" "We have no answers for you". AND you pay in advance therefore you are out of the money and a car if this happens to you! Another scary factor is they don't track their shipments... they couldn't even tell us where our car was (we offered to go and get it and drive it down to FLA so our daughter could have her car). A complete shitshow of an operation... DO NOT USE THEM!!!! read more

Booked a month in advanced to be shipped, and they were supposed to come today for pickup (Wed). Having not heard ANYTHING from them since booking/confirmation, I called them on Monday, of the week they were supposed to pickup (Wednesday), and was told "they were working on it." That Tuesday, I called back again and could not get through to a customer service rep. No one would call me back. I also reached out to the rep (Jordan) who originally gave me my quote but he has not replied via email twice, and have gotten no response. I have also tried his phone number, no answer. Finally, late last night I was able to talk to someone in sales (not dispatch) that told me that the reason for the issue is likely because they cannot find any carriers going to my destination. Supposedly this is a problem that occurs when you ship to a city that is not on a major carrier through-line -- despite the fact that my original customer rep (Jordan) assured me when ordering a month ago that my location would be fine. The sales rep on the phone also told me that I should have been called 3-5 days before pick-up to alert me that pick-up may be late but for some reason no one did. Tuesday morning I received a phone call and after talking with a dispatch representative, was told they are "still working on it" and that it may be a few days later but not by much. I sure hope so, seeing as I am flying out of the state my car is in a few days from now. This new rep promised me they would have my car shipped before I leave, but based on these reviews I am not feeling optimistic. So far, no one has asked me for more money than my quote. Incredibly uncommunicative and have turned my last few days of moving into absolutely chaos. I'll update this review with how things turn out and if they are able to ship my car before I fly out of the state. read more

The lack of customer service was alarming. I was unable to get an actual person on the phone when calling the Customer Service line - and I sat on hold for 15-30 minutes on various attempts with no one ever picking up. I tried online chat and there was never a representative available. The only way I could get a human to answer the phone is if I called the line to get a quote. When I did get through, I spoke with Kevin Allman and he was condescending, was unable to answer my question, and just connected me to the dead-end Customer Service line. All I wanted was to get more clarity on when my vehicle was going to be picked up and if it was going to be picked up on time. I had requested it to be picked up on a Wednesday and by Monday afternoon I had not had confirmation that a carrier had been assigned to pick up my vehicle. I did receive an email on Tuesday letting me know that my car was being scheduled for pickup that day (not Wednesday as I had requested, but Tuesday) and I received the email from RoadRunner hours after it had actually been picked up at the dealership. (The only reason I knew it had been picked up is because the dealership called to tell me.) I then tried calling RoadRunner again on Wednesday morning to try to get some additional information on when the car would be dropped off at my house (since I had received no email communication with that info and I needed to plan around work and kids) and Kevin was again rude and condescending. He reassured me that the driver would call me 2-3 hours before my car was to be dropped off. The driver literally called me for the first time when they were 2 min. from my house to let me know they were dropping my vehicle off. The car arrived safely, but the lack of communication and accurate communication is seriously lacking if not non-existent. I would not recommend. read more

This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I hire them to take my car from Tampa, Fl to North Georgia. I tell them it has to be Wednesday or sooner but can't be after Wednesday. Sales guy says not a big deal we got it. There office calls me on Tuesday and leaves a message confirming pick up before 5pm Wednesday and sends a email to back it up. Wednesday comes and the driver calls me at 10am Wednesday saying she cant do it and complaining about the car not running and how she doesn't have a winch . Not really my problem since the paperwork says not running. I call them back to complain and they keep saying there contract says anytime after Wed. Bull I have vm and email saying Wednesday and even the sales guys email and they hang up. I call back to tell them there drive cancel because the driver doesn't want to pick up the car it to much work because its not running. They hang up on me and I hire another company that did it for less and never complained one time and was on time since they know I had a plane to catch Wednesday night. This company roadrunner auto transport is rude and has no customer service at all. The people working there all have attitudes and very rude and never want to work with you. They were calling 5 times a day to get my money and when there drive canceled they never call you back to help you. They also will try to commit fraud on your credit card 2 months after to try to bill you for not picking up the car yes they keep all your credit card info and try to charge you months later scammers and willing to do anything to get your money and then try fraud you months later thinking you wouldn't notice negative 10 stars they should be run out of business for there low life actions. I turned them info the BBB and the state of Florida and New York read more

I first would like to say that no matter what companies people choose to use some people find fault with anything. I must say this was the first time I ever shipped a vehicle. I choose the RoadRunner Auto Transportation co. because the employee Zack that called me back was able to answer all my questions and that he was fantastic from the start. I had contacted a few companies about the vehicle shipping and many were higher cost couldn't transport at the time I needed and one even changed the price after I agreed on the price. I contacted this company and left a message first. I was called back the next day by Zack and he handled everything with no problems at all. I was told the price and I agreed and they didn't charge my card until a trucking company was scheduled for the pick up of my vehicle. I was notified in 2 days that they had a company to transport the vehicle for the following Monday and that was perfect. I was bit apprehensive about the pick up because it is scheduled by the pick up day not time due to the locations of the vehicle's being shipped. The truck driver did call me and said he would reach my home around 3:30 pm and arrived at 3:00 pm and I was very surprised how on time they were. The driver was extremely pleasant as we both took many pictures of the vehicle and discussed all the little dings and scuffs around the vehicle. The vehicle arrived in Florida on the exact day I was told and they called me when it arrived to the driveway. He took pictures of the vehicle in the driveway and sent them to me to see,and put the keys in a safe place for me. I would recommend this company to anyone. They were just fantastic. I wish them the best. I would give this company a ten star if I could. Fred read more

I extensively studied the overwhelming amount of negative reviews. Direct human interaction and customer expectations seem to be at the forefront of the negative reviews. I know Roadrunner is a broker. I also know they wildly exceeded my expectations. My personal experience was absolutely outstanding. I bought a car on-line. I requested transportation through Roadrunner. I wanted the car picked up at the earliest convenience for both the seller and the transport co. I never needed to call a human and I really expected the shipment would take a few days, not in the few HOURS it took to arrive. I did not need the car in my garage by a certain date but was certainly anxious to receive it. The Car was picked up at 3:00pm in upstate NY and delivered at 8:30PM to my house in central Ohio that same evening! As a matter of fact I left the house to spend the time at a friends house to watch a game. I couldn't believe it when the drivers dispatcher called to let me know the drive was about a half hour away. Unbelievable!! I realize my situation is probably not the norm but if you absolutely need a vehicle shipped in a certain way and within specific time parameters then a brokerage company such as Roadrunner is likely not going to suit you. They could to a better marketing job and be more transparent in that regard. Spend the extra money for Passport, Horseless Carriage, Reliable or the other big money car carriers that can provide a guaranteed door to door service. If your not in a hurry then I find Roadrunner a great and economical way to ship a vehicle. read more

Total waste of time. Do not expect any accountability from this company whatsoever. We booked them to haul our truck for us when we moved out of state. They gave us a pick up date. The driver was supposed to call to arrange a pick up time. Never called. We called customer service and they told us that the driver has a 48 hr window and that he/she should contact us by 9pm the second day. We waited 2 days in an empty house for a driver that never called, never showed up. Absolutely no contact whatsoever. If they are going to be late, the least they can do is contact us and let us know. First they gave us a pick up date. Then they told us the driver has a 48 hr window. When the driver still didn't show, they told us they cannot guarantee a delivery date at all. They had already charged our card for the service, so why can't they provide communication regarding when our driver would arrive? Day three. Still no response from driver. Still no attempt from customer service to offer any resolution whatsoever. Their only course of action is to continue contacting a driver that never replies. We had to leave our car behind so we can meet our movers when they arrive at our new place. We had noone that we could leave the keys with. Now we have to rent a car when we get to our new place and fly back to arrange to get our car home. Don't waste your time with this company. Their customer service totally sucks and their incompetence has cost us over $1000 in rentals and flights back to take care of the car we had to leave behind. read more

I recently used RoadRunner Auto Transport to ship my 2 cars from Florida to Ohio. I am so pleased with this company and would call them again in a heartbeat. I was originally quoted a lower price by another company (the furniture shippers I was using had helped me get a quote with American Auto Transport). The man "helping" me at the other company was rude over the phone, and even though I had a price quote in my email from his company, he refused to honor the quote and confirm my order until he spoke with a manager, however I called right before closing and all management had already gone home. Later that same day I received a call from Rob at RoadRunner and initially told him I was going with another company with a lower rate. I called him back a few minutes later just to see if they would meet a competitors quote. He asked his management and they agreed. Yes this company is a broker, but both the broker and actual driver were great. Rob was so helpful in creating my booking, even though it was a last minute booking for the very next day for pick up. He said I would receive a call from my driver a few hours before the pickup. Just a couple of hours later, I did receive a call from the driver, Emil, with A1 USA Express. We confirmed the meeting spot and the next morning he called to re-confirm the time. He showed up when he said he would and was very friendly. All in all my experience was a great one. The girls on the phone, Rob, and Emil were so wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I received good customer care at first, and they wanted to quickly go ahead and book me. When I agreed however, it took way longer to get back to me than they had said. Once they had me sign, its like their customer service went out the window. Maynor, and some other guy, essentially forgot about me. At one point I even called close to the alleged pick up date and I was even told that they hadn't even started working on my vehicle transport yet. It was very disheartening, especially in the indifferent tone they used while telling me when I could finally get some information from them. I was left in the dark for days. Not to mention that originally I had chosen Roadrunner because "Maynor" assured me they had their own trucks and that my car would be in one of their own trucks. After the fact, however, I was told they only actually had 3 trucks and that I was going to get my car shipped when they found somebody else. It took long- especially considering I was right on Los Angeles and going to Georgia (a very common, busy route). The more I called, the grumpier they got. Eventually they got me someone to ship my car- some super shady individuals but that's a different story. When I received my car, the breaks felt like they werent crisp and as responsive. My wheel alignment was DEFINITELY off, as my car would swerve to the right. Anyway, I suppose it was to be expected. I'm just glad its all over and that I have my car now. It was delivered in time, so that was good. read more

I would give this company a zero star review if possible. They are absolutely horrific to deal with. I specifically spoke with Dominick and told him the car was not to be delivered until Monday August 14th OR LATER since I would not be in town until then. He assured me that was no problem and now they are delivering it Sunday August 13th when I am not there. The communication between road runner and the trucking companies is nonexistent, the trucking company owner told me that he was not informed of my timeline and confirmed he did speak with road runner which is funny because Dominick assured me he did tell them but clearly he didn't. I have left 2 voicemails for road runner, called five times during business hours with no response and on hold for over an hour and emailed twice with no response. Very unprofessional, I will be calling Monday to speak to the top manager and will be warning everyone I know here in SWFL and Scottsdale AZ car clubs of over 1,000 people to NEVER EVER use this company. I would rather pay twice their price and know I am working with good honest people. Worst company ever and I will be letting everyone possible know and leaving reviews on every website I can to prevent others from having this experience. DO NOT USE THEM OR DOMINICK WHATSOEVER. I should have read the reviews here before booking because clearly others are having issues and very unhappy as well. DO BETTER ROAD RUNNER!! You have so many 1 star reviews for a reason! read more
