    Clean diner.

It's only gotten better. Now they take credit cards also have added a Happy Hour Menu ! Unbelievable service with reasonable prices! We'll continue to go there when nearby.

The service was helpful and did their job. The restaurant was clean and an easy location. Now I bet you're asking why a 3? This was my first time here so I decided to order the BBQ bacon burger ( something that looks familiar) I believe my rating is strictly preference only. The food was not bad, but it was definitely not something I would eat again. The burger was very big, which is great. The bacon was cut up and not just slices which is even better. My problem was as there was so much barbecue sauce I couldn't taste anything else. There was so many sautéed onions on top of the sandwich that even trying to take a bite the sandwich would fall apart. My perspective is there's way too many onions on there otherwise I hope this fits somebody's preference.

Nice staff. Very cool vintage 50's style diner. Cool spot to bring your classic car and grab a burger, fries and beer. Super clean building in industrial part of Portland. Plenty of parking with a Country Coffee in same parking lot. Affordable priced compared to fast food and restaurants.

Oh, Roake's you QUALITY neighbor, you magnificent meat mirage in the heart of NE Portland along the restaurant barren desert of food quality! I stumbled in here expecting a quick bite, I work next door at Trailer City, but left with a full belly, a side of existential burger envy, and the firm belief that if burgers were a religion, this spot would be the Vatican. Like a hipster speakeasy for carnivores, it's the kind of place where the line snakes out the door at lunchtime, but you don't mind because the smell of sizzling patties hits you like a flirtatious wink from a grill god. Let's talk the star: the Deluxe Double Bacon Burger. You get a double-stack of juicy, grass-fed beef bliss, smashed thin and crispy-edged like it just escaped a patty Thunderdome. Topped with melty American cheese, bacon galore, onions that add a zingy plot twist, and their house sauce--think thousand island's cooler, sassier cousin--it arrives on a squishy potato bun that's basically a hug for your hands. I took one bite and whispered, "This is what Keanu Reeves' burger would taste like if he directed a rom-com." Sides? Go for the fries--crispy, sea-salted perfection that doesn't need ketchup to shine, unlike my ex's personality, but bring a friend to share. The vibe? Dive-bar chic meets fever dream: American Graffiti meets Portland punk, Service is brisk but warm. Real Good People!!! Pro tip: Come hungry, leave enlightened. If you're in the neighborhood (and by neighborhood, I mean anywhere within a 20-mile radius of good sense), Roake's isn't just a burger joint--it's a reminder that life's too short for sad fast food. Five stars, because why settle for "fine" when you can have "freakin' phenomenal"? Would recommend to friends, foes, and that one uncle who still uses a flip phone.

Classic diner vibes. Burgers, shakes, the works. They just started taking card so easier to pay now

    Platter of fries! Huge!

Loved this throw back lunch spot famous for their snappy hot dogs. Cash only, so be prepared. Very friendly service and you can tell this is a spot where people are regulars. The foot long hot dogs were spot on with a snap and super soft bun. The platter of fries was humungous, so be prepared to share with a crowd. Neon, music and black & white booths made the place tranformed you back in time.

    Coney, regular dog and malt.

Between the genuinely friendly hospitality and the flavor combinations, this spot hits it out of the park and is a must for sandwich lovers. Griddled Mortadella (5/5): An incredibly delicious sandwich that perfectly balances rich, salty, and savory flavors. It comes loaded with a generous portion of grilled mortadella and melted provolone cheese, perfectly moistened with a tangy mustard aioli. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.
