I visited Cruisers based on a recommendation and had high hopes. The moment you walk in, it's clear they're aiming for a 50s or 60s diner vibe, but unfortunately, it just doesn't quite hit the mark. My sister ordered a cheeseburger and was satisfied with her meal. However, my friend's hotdog looked like it had been put through a washing machine and then hung to dry in the Sahara desert. He had to drown it in mustard, which he doesn't even like, just to make it edible. I had a double cheeseburger with curly fries. My bun was burnt, and the patties were dripping, but not in a good way. The overall experience was disappointing; honestly, I would have preferred to eat at McDonald's. Not a great experience at all.

So far the best burgers for the money on the east side of Portland. $17.50 for two burgers with bacon, cheese, tomato, onion and lettuce, and a good sized piece of meat! Left this space for no apparent reason. ...............................................! With the burger you got fries and a coke. Service was fast considering every this is cooked fresh. Everything appeared to be clean including the floor, mmmmnot sticky as it is in most burger joints. The city has seen fit to take all the on street parking for bike lanes, so you park at your own peril in their lot. By the way I never saw a bike on Division or the side street. No wonder small businesses are closing all over Portland.

Affordable diner with vegetarian options! Great service and the portions are huge. Cute little diner ambiance, would 100% come back.

Okay..so my 4 stars are pretty generous as I'm mostly blinded by nostalgia and if you're not then you're going to see Cruisers as more of a 2 star kind of place, but hear me out: The vibes are unbeatable here. You've got a classic diner & mile high soft serve with the flavor swirls..where else can you find this around here? I grew up going here and now take my kids when we're in the area because I'm just so happy it's here. Now to be straight up..the food is terrible. Like actually..I'd compare it to stadium food but specifically the most low budget stadium you could think of. Think frozen fries & plastic cheese. So if you want my tip: don't go when you're hungry..save Cruisers for your after dinner treat where you go here to sit back under the neon & enjoy the ice cream!

For us this is definitely a fried food joint that also has burgers. The burgers are juicy and decent portion, but lacked in toppings. It's hard to mess up fried foods much. The chicken tenders are thin and crispy and the cheese bites nice and melty. Poppers, mushrooms, fish - it's all fried decently. The biggest appeal is that it's decent food and you get what you expect, but the prices are way better than most places. It's not that their sizes are smaller either, just better prices. So if you're looking for some reasonably priced greasy food you should consider this place.

I ordered a club sandwich food DoorDash. The sandwich came on Wonder bread untoasted crammed into a tiny little plastic container. Once removing it, it completely fell apart and was a complete mess covered in mayonnaise. The only way to eat this sandwich was to put it in a blender and drink it. They have no idea what a club sandwich is. I threw it in the trash.

I'm honestly surprised I haven't tried this place sooner! We were pleasantly surprised when drove by and it was mostly empty. So we figured today was the day to go sit and try it. By burger was excellent. I had the jalapeno bacon burger. The bacon wasn't well done but I just pulled it off. No biggie. The burger was well done and the tots too. Just like I like em. My husband said his mushroom burger was also very tasty. We didn't have dessert because we were stuffed but the kid next to us had a banana split and oh my goodness it looked heavenly. Next time!!

While in Portland, I wanted to find a hamburger joint that would satisfy my hamburger craving. Many of the hamburger places I encountered were vey hipster, expensive and not very appetizing. CRUISER WAS NOT LIKE THAT, the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and the price was very affordable. Being from Los Angeles, I am very spoiled when it comes to hamburger and this place ranks right up there with the "great places" to get a cheeseburger and fires. I liked their options for french fries (regular, curly fries or tator tots). They also offer a variety of milkshakes and ice cream. Over all, this place was great and I would definitely recommend it.

Someone took a bite out of my burger.

Nice friendly service my favorite burger joint in SE Portland. Fries are good but the tater tots rock . Gotta try the wing options

This is a stunning burger…read more I have come here an embarrassing amount of times since moving back to Portland. The first time I came alone, just a little hungry and a lot broke. So I got the $6 little pleasure burger. A simple, single patty smash burger. It's everything a McDonald's burger wishes it could be - beefy and drippy, a squishy, slightly sweet bun, oozing hot grease without being heavy, lacy and crisp edges, and held together with the right amount of American cheese. It was the perfect amount for that day. Then I returned with my date. Twice. And he brought his coworkers for lunch because he liked it so much. I have had the western and the mushroom burger since, as well as the parm and chive waffle fries. They have nuggets and I'm inclined to believe they're great. The staff is great, it's a small team and they're all there every single day. They care about their product and your experience. The space is a simple counter, not good for large groups. It should be noted that even though their burgers would be great with a beer, they don't seem to have a liquor license! So don't expect an IPA with that shroom burger. Maybe someday!

Between the genuinely friendly hospitality and the flavor combinations, this spot hits it out of the park and is a must for sandwich lovers. Griddled Mortadella (5/5): An incredibly delicious sandwich that perfectly balances rich, salty, and savory flavors. It comes loaded with a generous portion of grilled mortadella and melted provolone cheese, perfectly moistened with a tangy mustard aioli. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.

My daughter and I shared the Willamette Reuben and her friend ordered the Italian Flag. We shared the Lardo fries. Oh man, the Reuben was perfection! The flavor of the meat and everything on the sandwich, from texture to flavor--chef's kiss! We heard that the Italian Flag was excellent too. Definitely, you can share a sandwich especially if you're having fries. The fries were delicious--crispy and flavorful on the outside, perfectly hot and mushy on the inside. Yum!
