    I do not recommend this place…read more We went to Angels of Assisi because it was advertised online as a low cost, walk in style clinic for vaccinations and preventative care on Saturdays. All we needed was flea and tick prevention for my dog. What should have been a simple visit turned into nearly a 2 hour ordeal for something that ultimately took only a few minutes. The experience started off awkwardly from the moment we arrived. An employee walked up to the passenger side of our vehicle and just stood there without waving, introducing herself, or making it clear she was trying to get our attention. We were handed paperwork and informed that even though we were only there for flea and tick medication, an exam was required first. That requirement, along with the additional $30 exam fee, was never clearly disclosed online and came as a surprise. The biggest issue, however, was how they handled my Psychiatric Service Animal. I am a Retired U.S. Marine Veteran with both Combat and Humanitarian service, and my dog is not a pet. He is my Psychiatric Service Animal for PTSD. He is with me constantly because he performs an important role in my daily life. I explained this to staff and made it clear that I wanted to accompany him during his examination after waiting almost 2 hours to be seen. I was told no. When I asked why, I was told it was "policy." When I asked for a specific reason, nobody could provide one. I was referred to the manager sitting behind the front desk. I calmly explained that my dog is a Psychiatric Service Animal and asked why I was not allowed to accompany him during the examination. Her response was simply, "That's how we operate here." I then asked to see the written policy that supposedly prevented me from accompanying my own Service Animal. I was told there wasn't one. Instead, I was again told, "That's just how we operate." That answer was completely unacceptable. If you're going to separate a Disabled Veteran from his Psychiatric Service Animal, there should at least be a legitimate explanation and a written policy to support it! There was neither. What made it worse was the complete lack of compassion. When I explained that I am a Combat Veteran and that being separated from my Service Dog causes significant stress and frustration, the response was essentially, "I understand," followed by more indifference. There was no effort to address the concern, no attempt to accommodate the situation, no apology for the inconvenience, and no recognition whatsoever of why the issue mattered. I was not even given a simple "Thank you for your Service" by anyone during the entire visit. In all my years of owning dogs and taking them to veterinarians, I have never once been told that I could not accompany my dog during an examination, especially when that dog is a Psychiatric Service Animal and the staff have been informed of that fact. It felt less like a veterinary clinic and more like dealing with a bureaucracy where nonexistent policies matter more than people. Since I was already being required to pay for a $30 wellness exam, I also wanted the veterinarian to take a look at a few moles and a small fatty lump that have appeared as my dog has gotten older. Other veterinarians have previously examined these areas, but I wanted a second opinion to make the most of the exam I was being charged for. Instead of discussing those concerns directly with the veterinarian while I was present with my dog, I was expected to get down and point everything out in the waiting area before he was taken away. As a Disabled Veteran with mobility limitations, having to do that on the floor in front of other clients felt both awkward and unnecessary. A private conversation with the veterinarian while remaining with my dog would have been far more professional and respectful. To be fair, the technician who handled my dog was polite, respectful, and professional. Unfortunately, that professionalism did not extend to management. After the exam, I even apologized for being frustrated because I was trying to remain respectful throughout the entire interaction. I never raised my voice, used profanity, or became disrespectful. Despite that, the response never changed. The attitude remained, "This is how we do things." By the end of the visit, we spent $180 for an exam and six months of flea and tick medication after waiting nearly two hours. For a clinic that advertises affordability, convenience, and community service, the entire experience felt disorganized, impersonal, and unnecessarily stressful. If you are a Military Veteran, have a Service Animal, value transparency, or simply expect compassion from the people caring for your pet, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. My dog deserved better, and frankly, so did I. SEMPER FIDELIS

Came in and went right to the cat collar section. I have to say that this store did not have a huge selection at the time of my visit. It looked like this was the only section of the store that wasn't restocked. That didn't deter me however. I did end up finding a collar for her and decided to mill around the store. This stop was in conjunction with another to kill some time. I wanted to see all the animals they had in store and stop and check out the cats. Customer service was decent. I only interacted with staff during check out. It was a quick transaction as I had only one item.

Loose stools and then some bleeding. Called the store, and then contacted corporate. Having to wait for a phone call. 3 calls had to be made due to incompetence. 1 who in the world leaves some kid in charge and just takes off? I should have cancelled the appointment, but due to previous knee surgery I take my fur baby there so I don't suffer from kneeling on the floor.. The constant turn over of groomers, is ridiculous and possible uncleanliness. I am protesting they refund my session and pay for vet bill. My baby was fine till this mess. Needless to say I am making certain no friends, family or even some people I don't know thinks twice before taking their fur baby to this place. Even Franklin rd PetSmart is horrible. My son took his Swiss shepherd there and brought home a flea infestation! I am also going to contact the health dept and DOPR! Yes ladies and gentlemen DOPR is license regulations. Take me advice do NOT use PetSmart for Grooming! This comes from a two plus year customer of the grooming dept.

She is older and her whole life is aggressive towards larger dogs at first and takes time to get used to them. We were very upfront about this. We also told them she would probably not warm up being a strange place that is overwhelming. Over the years we have introduced multiple dogs (and plenty with high energy) to her and they end up being fine and being friends. Because she wouldn't warm up and be friendly in two short meet and greets they denied us adopting. The lady during the second meet and greet was all over the place on why we couldn't adopt. It started with our dog not being friendly (And she wasn't just being mean she just growled a couple times). After we explained how she is, it turned into how families during the pandemic just rushed to get dogs even if they weren't a good fit (making an assumption about my family who she doesn't even know). At that point I called her out on her assumption and let her know it's been a few years since our other dog passed and we didn't rush in during the pandemic because with two young kids we already had enough going on. So clearly we aren't those type of people. She then explained how our dog was old and we should spend more time with her and another dog would take way from that. They made assumptions on items they know nothing about and ignored the facts (and actually didn't even try to gather any). The facts: 1) Our dog has been this way her whole life. We have had her for her whole life. We have been down this road before and know how to handle it. 2) we would keep them separated unless we were around and introduce them properly until they were comfortable with each other. 3) we had a big fenced in yard where the new dog could help get energy out so they were more calm around our dog. 4) we have a gate between upstairs and downstairs so if our older dog wants alone time she can fit under the gate and go on her own like she has done before. Yes, their job is 100% to keep the dogs they have safe and make sure they go into good homes. Their job is ALSO to make sure they gather the facts. During the entire two visits they never even asked us questions they should have (like how we would get them used to each other, would they be together alone, etc). In the end, they have the power and it is what it is. That being said, now after never wanting to go and purchase a dog from a breeder that is what we will do because I am not the type to lie on applications just so we get approved. RCACP...do better.

I've been looking to adopt for quite some time but never found the right place or dog. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted immediately (partially cause I was a bit confused), but then a volunteer came up to ask me what I was there for. She was kind and walked me through the process of how you can choose which dog you want to meet, and someone who works there will bring the dog out to meet you. The whole adoption process was pain free. I now have a new addition to my little family and I could not have asked for a better place to adopt my pup.

    I was told that Franklin Road PetSmart Grooming was better than Valley View, so I decided to try…read more I started off with Ashley H., and she did a good job. We had no major issues with communication and skill of grooming. I used her several times. Appointments were filled up quick. I had an appointment on Father's Day, since she was scheduled. Well, she called in sick a few hours prior to my appointment... unknown if really sick or not, but I could've made an appointment with other groomers, and I was disappointed. Then I made appointment with Kim J., and bad vibes immediately with ways that she communicated. She's from Northern Va... Let me say, that I have used many groomers before, and they always treat my pack kindly and gently. First off, the "helper" took my boy's harness and leash off, and gave back to me. THEN, the helper put a noose around my pup's neck and drug him back in the back room, like she was herding a head of wild cattle. I was furious, and I felt like taking my boy home and forget this groom, and even pay the cancel charge. It would've been worth it. Well he got in the back room, and copped an attitude. Who wouldn't??? So, when I got the bill, I had an up-charge of an extra $10, due to the fact my boy tried to bite her. The extra $10 was worth it, because they should've treated my boy better. Again, when they were bringing my baby back to me, they had the noose tight around his body. I voiced my anger in them not using the harness and leash, and the Northern VA "person" argued with me saying the noose was not around his neck. Well, the first time it was. When I was leaving, I apologized to my precious for bringing him to PetSmart, Franklin Road in the first place. I will not be using them no more. The groom was okay, but they do not handle my pack like they need to be treated.
