They only had one breakfast sandwich that had an option of either with turkey bacon or without .... and it was AMAZINGGGGGG the sandwich had some sort of sauce in it as well that was so good. Meh Food Placed an order for pick up online. It was nothing special, just a roasted chicken sandwich with a Coke. Online, it says that the order will be ready within 20 min. I arrive at the place 15 min after placing the order cause i figure ... it's just a sandwich. Anyway, when I get there, my order had clearly not been worked on so I was told to wait. It was pretty obvious they knew they had goofed so they got it ready in 10 min. Anyway, about the food ... not much to say. It's not bad but not delicious either. I was hoping to like this shop because it was so cute! Looks like a nice place to sit, eat, and study/work. I ordered the fit wrap, took out mushrooms and added chicken. They made my wrap and forgot the chicken and avocado. I went back to have them remake it...the person remade it so sloppy and with an attitude. I stated: he mad the wrap so poorly it can't be closed. He then complained saying I added too much stuff to the wrap. All I did was ask for chicken instead of mushroom! I just left with my sloppy wrap and will not be going back. Enjoyed a late lunch at Roast N Co on Monday afternoon. Solid food, good coffee, and a relaxed environment conducive to work. Quality: Roast N Co is a great little cafe right near my home. I had passed it numerous times and finally stopped in for lunch. I went with the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich, which had chicken, potatoes, and gravy on a baguette. The potatoes may have been a bit overkill, but the gravy was great as was the fresh bread. It came with a side of fries that were also delicious. To go along with it I also got a Cafe Latte, which hit the spot. Quantity: A good sized sandwich and a massive cup of coffee. Value: $9.00 for a Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich. $4.00 for a Medium Cafe Latte. Ambiance: Roast N Co is located in Forest Hills, Queens. A quaint cafe along Queens Blvd. they have a nice space to enjoy a cup of coffee or pull out a laptop and do some work. They have a few tables up front near a large glass window and some additional seating lining the right wall to the back. The decor is simple, but they did have a cool antique cabinet near the front. Soft rock music played quietly in the background, which is helpful if you plan to do some work. Crowd: A small crowd of folks doing work and a few others grabbing take-out. The salad is artfully prepared with mixed greens, quinoa, cranberries, butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, and goat cheese with a delightful drizzle of a zesty and flavorful vinaigrette. The ambiance is so cute and the service attentive and friendly. I really enjoy the atmosphere, the high quality food, and myriad of options for vegetarians and vegans as well here, although I am neither personally. No wonder why it was welcomed so warmly by residents. I haven't had a real dining experience yet, but so far everything I had here from breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea and pastries were delicious. I only drink decafe coffee and it's always fresh and good here because they use French press to brew. Extra bonus points for me. The 1 less star is because now they have a cooler case for canned and bottled drinks right next to the communal table which is my favorite place to sit. It ruins the cafe feeling a bit. This place is setup to feel like you are in the country. Not hipster feel. Slightly on the shabby chic side. There's a big table on the side for 6 and a few two tops slightly in. Not recommended for those who travel with little kids or have a stroller. There's about two steps up that you need to take upon entering the store. So it would be hard to get in with a stroller. There's also no spot for you to park your stroller if you wanted to eat in. I took away one star because I felt the prices here are a bit on the high side for the neighborhood. Granted the items are on the higher end. A small iced coffee will set you back $3. Muffins are $2.50. If you decide to come here for lunch/dinner the chicken with sides are good. Fresh vegetables are cooked to order. Some of the sides are premade like potatoes, that's not something you can cook to order. The chicken is super moist and has good flavor. So at work I accidentally dropped my homemade lunch on the floor, instead of crying over my delicious balsamic fish & veggies splattered all over the floor & from the sounds coming from my hungry stomach, I decided to order something healthy & almost as delicious as my original lunch. I came across Roast n Co and ordered a Chicken Panini with a Berry Smoothie. The chicken Panini was decent. The chicken was flavorful & the Panini was stuffed with lots of veggies complimented by a nice light Dijon sauce. I was not a big fan of The Berry Smoothie. I ordered it because it sounded very healthy, which I can attest it definitely was. It consisted of berries, flex seeds and milk. It's totally my fault for assuming that it would have at least a hint of sweetness, but there was no sweet added to this at all. It was just as describe, which I guess is a good thing right? They are decorated nicely with a very warm and inviting feel. One has the option of being in a communal table by the window or individual tables along their open kitchen area. Of note- they give employees of specific companies A 15% discount. (That amongst other things is my incentive to keep coming) This places offers many various items from coffees, fresh blended drinks, salads and pressed panini sandwiches. Their speciality seems to be roasted chicken, which is very moist and juicy. My favorite is the vegetarian panini with fresh pesto and mozzarella with a hot cappuccino. I was quite annoyed with the meal as I sat , ate it and thought about throwing it away then I remembered the money I would be tossing in the garbage. The potatoes were so hard to chew and the chicken was dry. Roast n Co has a solid menu for this neighborhood, and many healthy options for the too-lazy-to-cook but still want a quick and healthy dinner diner. We came after a long day in the city hitting the gym and socializing at the MET, by the time we got back to the neighborhood we were wiped out. Our ambitions to stay healthy and not eat pizza were challenged by our starvation and laziness. Roast n Co came to our rescue with well made Cobb Salad and Half Rotisserie Chicken plates with a side of kale and sweet potato. And, it was a walk away and affordable. Perfect for ordering in for a weekday and a quick night out without waiting out the crowds. The service was excellent and the Chicken is juicy and well made and bursting with flavor. The staff treated us well and the kitchen has been open for exactly two months the night we came. If they keep this quality up it will definitely be a new neighborhood favorite. I specified I wanted in the form of a paste and not simply sliced. Before I left, I looked and it was sliced. Not only did the cook ignore my request, but the cook lacks basic professionalism. I overheard an altercation btwn them and the staff bc of my request. This isn't the first time I've asked for avocado to be added to a dish and be disappointed. Last week, I did not look at my order until I got home and was annoyed at the four slices of avocados on toasted bread. I added avocado to my favorite insalata salad and was very disappointed. I haven't ordered it since. The two cooks have such poor attitudes, no sense of flexibility, and appear easily annoyed.
