Ordered a bagel with scallion and bacon cream cheese -- there was zero bacon, and the scallions looked old, dry, and sad. The vegetable cream cheese on another bagel literally looked like coleslaw without mayo. Honestly, it was so off-putting I couldn't even bring myself to taste either one. To make things worse, the "fresh juice" was packed so poorly that beet juice leaked everywhere, soaking the delivery bag and ruining my brand-new carpet. I hold both the delivery driver and whoever prepped this mess responsible. Not just disappointed -- I'm annoyed. Definitely won't be back. read more

A real gem!!! I just arrived in Queens and was looking for a sit-down restaurant to have breakfast. I stopped on the sidewalk before entering and saw a few tables to the front of what looked like a convenience store, deli/ grill. Not quite the vibe I was looking for because I wanted to burn some time. However, I entered anyway. The aroma was enticing, and I received a warm welcome upon entering. I immediately knew I hit a hot spot. When I saw 4 cooks on the grill, 2 cashiers and a host of locals with smiles on their faces as their orders were placed on the grill (without hesitantation). Some were sitting down to eat, while others were rushing out the door I ordered a vegetarian wrap that was delicious . I really enjoyed that new York style ambiance with a warm and welcoming vibe. I ordered delivery through Yelp. I rejected the first few restaurants I saw because they had 15-20% service fees, for delivery, in addition to delivery fees, delivery tips, and "other fees." Stephen Cafe/Deli doesn't do dumb stuff like that. Yelp estimated 40-60 minutes; the food arrived in 45. Portion sizes are slightly unusual. The sandwiches are smaller than I expected, but the sides are larger. It's not the best food I've had, but it's good enough, and it's reasonably priced. read more

I ordered the Philadelphia hero. what arrived was a very old roll with meat that was substandard and looked old. Did not smell good. I would have never accepted the food if it was in person. i didn't know they ruined my order until after i received it from the uber eats deliveryman. I understand its just a deli/café but the Department of Health should seriously take a look into this place. the sandwich looked so horrible i didn't even want to give it to my dog. I've ordered here a few times but lately they have been extremely late and when I contacted them to see what the issue was the an who answered the phone was extremely rude. On one occasion they left my order on the dirty floor of my apartment, not even in the lobby. When I contacted the delivery person to ask why they didn't wait the 2 seconds for me to come down when they called they told me they had other deliveries and didn't care and then hung up on me. However last time we ordered the burgers were bland, and the bread was stale, hard as a rock. We ordered through Seamless and I complained and we got a refund. I ordered from them AGAIN tonight because like I said I like their other food, and they cancelled my order on me. When I call, I was told that the manager called his employee and told him to cancel my order and to not deliver to my address. I asked why, he proceeds to tell me his manager says I cancel my order like 7-8 times already so they won't serve us. WHAT?! I NEVER cancelled. I only have 1 issues out of the 20-30 orders I've received from their. And THIS is how they treat their customers? Absolutely terrible customer service. Thank you Stephens Cafe for being the only available place that delivers at 2am... According to seamless. Most of the time I have no problems with my order or the quality of the food served. Rarely there will be something not as described or missing (from an item, not the entire item itself) but at 2 or 3 am you have to expect some substitutions or omissions. Also, it's 3am with no other options in the area... Just be happy you can even get anything. They're usually pretty quick with delivery times as well. And to the yelper who complained that they're delivery guy wasn't friendly... His job is to deliver your food in a timely manner and that's about all. But to those who would be upset about this, I've never had an unpleasant delivery man experience. read more

We get delivery from here. Good for what it is -- deli food. Not quite diner quality or portions per se. But still hearty in its own right. Cheeseburger deluxe - Small thin patty, and very dry. No juice or moisture in it at all. Reminds me of the nuked burgers at Burger King, maybe a hair thicker. Not appetizing. French fries-- must have used old oil, because they were tough and brown. Mozzarella sticks 8pcs -- Were kind of cold by the time they arrived, but I don't hold that again them considering they had to deliver them. *****One HUGE issue is that the marinara sauce semed as if it had gone bad. It wasn't tangy or acidic from the tomatoes, it tasted so acidic it seemed rancid. Not sure what they were serving, but I ended up using my Raos marinara pasta sauce for dipping. BARF! Buffalo wings 5 pcs. -- Liked the seasoning. Not just sauce tossed onto the wings, but it seemed liked spices caked onto the skin and then baked? Weren't crispy wings, but still delicious. French toast 3 pcs. -- Smelled really good, and slices were thick. I wish it had a little more egg batter covering the entire piece of bread, but overall it was good. Sausage -- pork sausage links similar to the ones you would find in the freezer section of the supermarket. Hungry Man sandwich -- breaded chicken seemed dry. I took a bike and needed a drink to get it down. Panini sandwich -- did not match it's description: Sicilian panini, prosciutto, ham, mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. ***Yes, it had the meat and cheese, but I tasted NO sun-dried tomatoes or balsamic vinaigrette. No tangy notes from the dressing. Just salt from the cured meats. BLEH. Part of the desire to get the sandwich was for the sun-dried tomatoes and dressing. Took about an hour to get the food. That could explain why some things weren't as good, like the mozzarella sticks. Those are always best hot, fresh, and gooey cheese once you bite into it. My husband put 'No Sesame seeds' on the burger and sandwiches -- we got a call from them asking us if it was OK to substitute with Kaiser rolls. So we appreciated the call! Communication is always nice from businesses. Great hours -- but not sure I would want to get delivery from here again, even if I was starving at 2AM. read more

This is very important but what is better is that it is open 24/7 and they will deliver. The food is above average for deli food (I actually love their falafel) and they have a good amount of offerings. Like 20 mins..Second, the food was tasty and hot! What more can you ask for? I got the Philly cheese steak and it was good. Slightly dry, but cheap! Not too many veggies. Good ratio all around. The sweet potato fries were decent, but need a bit more..girth, shall we say? They were rather flat, but still yum. And the moz sticks were bangin! Def a weird marinara sauce, but still we ate every bit. Mans got the prosciutto panini and he said it was hearty and delicious. They def didn't skimp on the meat.
