Located right in Detroit downtown serving freshly roasted coffee where beans are stored in Bins and shoot to Barista station through pipes as per the selection you made while ordering. You can pick the beans/roast for pour overs as well as craft drinks. Service was great and they also recommended the beans for drinks we ordered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is clean and has some seating available as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had flash iced coffee and a latte - both tasted great.

Yum!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place located on the corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a double pistachio latte, it was good but pricey as others have mentioned! Inside they have various coffee beans you can purchase for home.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Sterile vibe, the employees do not want to be there, it's loud, and the coffee is mid.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will not return or recommend. The bigger cities like Chicago, St.louis, and now Detroit have been difficult to find a coffee spot worth spending the $8 on. Refund please

My favorite coffee shop in Detroit! The coffee is so good and you have so many choices to choose from. The service has always been top notch since I've visited years ago. They've even shared my posts on their IG page multiple times. I stop in here to have my meetings, study, or just to get out for a minute. They have these breakfast wraps that are soooo good. They are just soooo small. It's definitely not enough to fill up on but it's a good small snack to get thru to that lunch break. Oh, and the owner is no other than Hill Harper . I had a chance to see him at the shop. You never know when he is going to pop in.

First of all shoutout to the staff here, we got here on Thursday at 5:45pm and they ready to close starting to clean up already. But they still answer the questions about how it works with the coffee beans. Excellent customer service!!! So you choose the coffee bean that you wanted and it will turns into a coffee drink if your choice. I chose the Roasting Plant bean and have it in cappuccino. It was very strong and strong coffee smell. I'm the only regret that I have is that I wish I come earlier to sit and enjoy it more.

Incredibly cool coffee shop downtown. Coffee is available for sale roasted and un-roasted and there are about a dozen roasts available to drink from countries all over the world. I enjoyed my cup (Mexican). It looks like there is a mad coffee scientist running this coffee shop. There are a few tables available to sit and chill but this coffee spot seems to be a great grab-n-go spot for a coffee snob.

Roasting Plant is hands down my favorite coffee spot in the city. Their fresh roasted and brewed coffee is unmatched--you can truly taste the difference. My go-to is their Peru coffee. Its smooth and well-balanced. And after nine visits, your tenth coffee is free. I always use that freebie to treat myself to their Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, absolutely worth it. If you're a coffee lover, you'll love this place.

Came back for the second year in a row while I was in town! Such a fun spot except a little pricey. I got an iced latte with almond milk and sugar free hazelnut sugar. Very tasty but almost $9 without tip. Great spot with good service!

One of my favorite coffee spots in the D! A bit unique in that you can have your coffee beverage made of any of the many types of beans and roasts they have available thanks to their Javabot that uses a system of tubes connecting their various types of beans to the barista station. Kind of fits with the whole factory vibe They also have the types of coffee broken up into Full bodied (dark roasts), balanced (medium roast), and mild roasts in case you need some guidance as to what to choose. Want your latte made with Jamaica Blue Mountain beans? No problem! I usually take my coffee black as a pour over, aeropress or drip so I do the "brew by the cup" option which I think they do as an Americano but don't quote me on that. It is pretty unique. You can of course also by whole beans as well which I usually do. They are located in the lobby of First National building at Campus Martius so you can easily do some site seeing after grabbing your cuppa Joe. Parking in the area is usually street parking a few blocks away or the parking structures on Congress.

Their matcha is SO thick and rich it's delicious. Great location right across from the rink and it smells sooo incredibly cozy in here.

I like the chai from this location. The location is my favorite part about this place. It is comfortable but also a bit small so I wouldn't stay for more then a quick coffee with a friend. The staff were friendly! I really did not like that the bathroom is in the main building lobby and you need to show your receipt to go...

We were walking around and it was freezing so we got some hot drinks from Roasting Plant Detroit. Service was fast and friendly and the layers were ordered were delicious. You can also buy roasted beans!

We stumbled across this coffee shop on a list of Best Coffee in Metro Detroit. We live about 30…read moreminutes away but were willing to make the drive in our quest to find the best cup of coffee. There is a relatively small parking lot on site, and it did get a little hectic trying to get in and out. It does look like you can also park in the neighborhood which might be worth the small walk to avoid having to make a right turn in the lot. The outside of the building is very cute and I love that the sign is painted right on the wall directing us where to go. The inside is extremely small as they were originally only intending to roast the coffee at this location. They did add in a ledge adjacent to the counter that had multiple high top chairs available, but there is no other seating inside. This would be great for a solo person having coffee. They do have ample seating right outside on their beautiful patio. They have put time and effort into creating this space, which can be seen in the lovely wood furniture and the flowers they have planted. They also have a pergola over the patio that provides shade. Attached to the pergola is the sign which is also lovely. They have a sandwich board right outside the door letting you know that they are open. The baristas took their job very seriously and were taking the time to weigh out both the beans and the milk. They have a standard menu that is easy to navigate, and for flavored lattes they offered both vanilla and honey that sounds great. I chose to go with the honey iced latte, and then we also ordered an iced vanilla latte and a flat white.y brother in law is from Australia, and we are ALWAYS trying to find him a decent flat white. Every time it is on a menu we will order it. For the first time in YEARS a flat white finally got his seal of approval. You could tell that the care the baristas put into the preparation made all of the difference. After visiting I told my neighbors (who are also big coffee snobs) about Kazkara and they visited the very next morning and also gave their stamps.of approval! Kazkara will now have multiple people from West Bloomfield making the 30 minute drive for a good cup of coffee.

When I opened the bag I could tell right away it was too fine. I attempted to pull a shot, but got nothing. It was most definitely Turkish grind. Since I could do nothing with the bag, I went back to explain this was ground too fine. The same individual was there and reacted with condensation, saying this is indeed espresso grind, which is basically Turkish, and he doesn't know what kind of maker I have so he cannot dial it in. I said I have never had this problem in the years I have done this at other shops. He acted like he could do nothing for me, so when I pressed that I can do nothing with these beans I spent money on, he got on the phone. At one point I heard him say, "Yes, I tried to explain that to her." As if I didn't know what I was talking about. I was finally given the option to get a bag of beans without having them ground, which is all I really wanted. I can grind the beans in my own grinder at home. I went down the street and bought a bag of beans there. I asked for espresso grind and mentioned that the last place gave me Turkish. She had to look up the appropriate setting, but she got it perfect. When I got home and opened the bag of beans from Black Iron, the beans were oily and smelled burnt. My coffee tasted that way, too. I was rather shocked because the latter I had ordered with my purchase was not bad. I had to use them up slowly by masking the bad taste with my go-to beans.
