They lie to get more money and scare people into thinking their cars are in worst shape than they actually are. What they tried to convince me was a $1200 was a little over $500 in reality and was not an immediate of a need as I had thought. My back breaks needed replacing, my front breaks were not great but they weren't at 1mm like they told me either.

I took my vehicle to Carworks because I was experiencing brake problems. On occasion, my brakes…read morewould become so low I'd have to hit the floor with the pedal in order for the brakes to catch and start working again. It didn't happen often but when it did it caused me to nearly rear end people. I left my car with Carworks who stated they would do a diagnostic test and take a look at my brakes and front end to see what the issue was, and that they thought from my information the issue was my master cylinder. From what limited knowledge I have about cars, that is what I believe the issue to be as well. My car was with them from about 1 PM and around 5:30 PM I received a call from them saying they have information from Dodge about a possible recall for this issue and urged me to contact Chrysler. I told them I'd call Chrysler right now and call back immediately. I was told by Chrysler that the recall did not apply to my vehicle. I called Carworks back about 15 minutes later and told them this. I spoke with a different man who told me we will revisit the issue in the AM since they are going to close soon. Now the next day it's almost 11 AM and I did not hear anything about my car. I called for an update and was told with an attitude that "we left it that you were supposed to call me back and you never did" I told him I DID call back, I just spoke with a different employee. From there I was told that they had driven my car a little bit both days and didn't feel the issue I was describing, and that they would replace the master cylinder if I wanted, just based on my description. I was repeatedly told that this was "on speculation only" and they didn't know for sure if that was the problem. Is it not the purpose of a diagnostic test (which I was charged for) to DIAGNOSE the issues at hand? From my knowledge, the master cylinder was never taken out to be looked at to see if there was physical evidence of damage or leakage. I was never told my brakes were looked at either. I am almost positive they drove my car around and called that a diagnostic test. I decided to pick up my car and I called and stated I'd like to cancel the order. Whoever I was speaking to hung up on me when I told him this. I was polite and nice and still talking, wanting to speak further about the whole issue and the man had already hung up after saying "ok." I took my car elsewhere and had a better experience and paid less money for an issue that I feel with confidence is resolved, not based on "speculation only." I don't doubt Carworks knowledge, reputation, and abilities-but I didn't like the attitude I was given.

Another update :( I've been going to Bending Wrenches for oil changes for the past couple of years…read moreand recently found out that tire rotation isn't included as part of their standard service. It costs an additional $10 and has to be requested separately - something I was never told during my visits. All other shops I've used include tire rotation automatically with oil changes, so this came as a surprise, especially after another tire shop pointed out uneven wear on my tires. I will now have to pay $300 to replace 2 tires early as their wear was halved due to this. Better communication from the staff would have prevented that issue. This isn't the first time I've had a problem here, but it's the one that made me decide to take my business elsewhere. I'd recommend that anyone using this shop ask up front exactly what's included in their service.

It's a car inspection, they never know what's going to happen as soon as you drive off their lot, I was just looking for an opinion and I got one, along with a handy discussion about the general state of the issues with cars these days. Gas prices are high, pollution is a thing, and alternative methods of getting around for long distances on a regular basis are not as easily available as we would find helpful. I chatted with the owner for a little bit, and if I lived in the area, I would definitely use this business on a regular basis.
