    Ribs!
    Justin R.

Robbie's is the definitive mom and pop place in Pittsburgh. They were so nice that I felt compelled to write a review with the small hope it will help them succeed. I ordered take out ribs and mac and cheese from here. When I arrived Robbie and his wife were putting my food in the bag. They lowered the price of my Mac and cheese because it was the last of it and they didn't want to charge me full price and handed me a free can of soda because it was my first time. We talked for a few minutes and I was on my way. The ribs were great. Cooked to just the right texture. I got my ribs with the Hot barbecue sauce, which they told me they've had to tone down a little lately, and it was very good. It was more barbecue with a subtle kick. I would probably get something other than the Mac next time, but that might be biased because of it being the last of it all. I think the best part about Robbie's is that they called me the next day to make sure I was happy with my order. Robbie said on the phone that he tries to do that with all new customers and it really added a touch of that classic mom and pop feel.

Cute little spot. Dont judge it by the appearance, seems like a little hole in the wall- the RIBS ARE SLAMMING. Best ribs ive had, and Renee is a sweet little sassy woman who knows her BBQ. She has a great personality and makes you feel at home. My first time here, i got the ribs with a mustard sauce, collard greens and mac and cheese. I will be back for sure.

Ribs are enormous. This is a photo of the half slab.

I greatly regret having to write this review. I contacted Two Brothers Barbeque some time ago to…read morecater my wedding. Initially, I had a wonderful experience. The individual I worked with, Terri, was initially responsive and accommodating and made me feel at ease about booking this business. I put down a deposit in early November. Later in November I reached out for some more information to aid in the planning of my wedding reception. However, I never heard back. I was not unduly concerned because this is a barbeque business and I thought this might be their "off-season". I assumed they would get back to me when they were able. I did not hear back from Two Bothers Barbeque, even when springtime rolled around, so I called them a couple of times. I did not hear back. At this point, I got concerned because our wedding was in only three months. I was eager to speak to them to have some questions answered. My fiancé suggested we drive to the business, so we could connect with them. When we drove to the business, we were rather dismayed to see many signs stating "Business for Sale." There was a phone number on one of the "For Sale" signs, so I called it and said that I had seen their "For Sale" signs and was interested in talking about this. At this time, I did not tell them my name or state that I was a client. I got a return call pretty immediately. When I received the call-back, I explained that I had emailed and called the business without hearing back, and that I was concerned that the business was for sale, as we were counting on them catering our wedding. The gentleman on the phone (the owner, I believe) said they were retiring and were winding down the business, but that they planned to honor all scheduled events. He said he would have Terri call me. I was extremely relieved - but only for a short while. Terri called after several minutes. I explained the situation to her. I told her that I was concerned because I hadn't received a response to my email or phone calls and then saw that the business was for sale. She said that the catering part of the business was for sale, as well as their food trucks, but they would still honor their contracts for the summer. However, she then said she would just refund my money if I was uncomfortable. I was taken aback - I had said nothing about cancelling the contract and was really just nervous about the prospect of the business being sold. I received no kind of apology for the lack of communication. Terri said that she hadn't responded to my email in November because I sent it too close to Thanksgiving and that she never received my phone calls. At some point during this conversation, Terri became quite hostile, raising her voice and becoming accusatory. She blamed me for the lack of contact and did not take responsibility for failing to respond. The situation became truly unsettling; in fact, may I say, deeply shocking. Terri did say that she had some medical concerns, which I do sympathize with. However, I have had a number of medical issues, some of them quite serious, and I have never treated a client this way. Ultimately, I stated that she could cancel the booking and send the refund, which was what she appeared to want to do in the first place. It really seemed like she did not care too much about the business or leaving us in a precarious position of having no caterer for our wedding. I left the phone call truly bewildered and told my fiancé I was sorry and that I had lost the caterer for our wedding. He said, "You shouldn't be sorry. You did absolutely nothing wrong." (He had been listening to this conversation.) We went home and brainstormed new possibilities, and, luckily, found another local business that was more than willing to cater for us. They have been a dream to work with. I know this review probably does not matter because Two Brothers is retiring from catering, but it is important that people be careful when dealing with this company. If you have a current date booked with them, please considering making a back-up plan. I'm not sure this business cares to uphold its promises, nor does it take responsibility for its own actions. Please be prepared for the worst-case scenario.

The guy who worked for 2 brothers started an argument with me, cause he thought I said it. He threatened me, which I would have had no issue, but, I was working with childish pricks whom didn't have the balls to stick up for themselves. This place is a low class bbq place, I cannot speak to ownership. But, the way the situation was handled is completely unacceptable. I do not care if they are now a catering business alone. The way they acted is ridiculous and you should hire another bbq catering company. Btw, why would anyone say . Best of luck to you, hope a girl doesn't beat your A**" How dumb.... I know this review is completely outdated. It also shows you that things haven't changed. Since 2017 to 2024.

Their menu includes entrees such as ribs, brisket, and pulled pork as well as appetizers such as nachos, fries, and macaroni that are topped with the meats. Sides include baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, collard greens, and potato chips. My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. An employee immediately greeted us and gave us menus to look at. She told us that we could sit at any table of our liking. Many tables were available inside and outside, and I appreciated that the walls were open for fresh ventilation. We ordered our appetizers, and the employee told us that ribs would not be available to order for another half hour, so we waited for them. Our loaded nachos and loaded fries were topped with similar ingredients of shredded meat, jalapeno peppers, gooey cheese, and a sauce. The ingredients were fresh, and we enjoyed the flavors. Our half rack of ribs were tender, and they had a tasty seasoning that my husband wanted a little more of.

Instead, this was hands down the fastest large-group dinner I've ever had. Orders moved quickly, food came out hot, and nothing felt chaotic. For a group this size, that level of execution is genuinely impressive. Let's be clear: this is not Texas-style, 18-hour, smoke-ring BBQ--and it's not trying to be. What they do well is consistency and customization. You get six different sauces, and they actually ask whether you want your meat lean and dry or juicy. I went juicy, and my portions were flavorful, tender, and satisfying. I ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork, and also tried the pulled pork sandwich. Solid across the board. They were out of the cream corn (bummer), the mac and cheese was fine and comforting, and the cornbread was excellent--classic, slightly sweet, and the clear standout. This is BBQ built for scale: fast, reliable, and crowd-friendly. If you're feeding a large group and want everyone served quickly, with options and no drama, Mission BBQ absolutely delivers--even if it's not chasing smoke-ring perfection.

Some mild and some spicy but all the ones I've tried are tasty. The sides were also very good! Mac and cheese and bacon green beans were my favorites but other sides include baked beans, French fries, collard greens, cold slaw and a couple seasonal items.
