My wife and I were on the road, Cincinnati, San Diego, Tahoe, Seattle, home. Of course, second day out in Missouri, we start getting some rattly noises from beneath out Mitsubishi Delica. It's a small turbo diesel that was never imported to the States, so finding someone to who is willing to work on it is difficult to say the least. While in Fallbrook visiting family, I found Robbins on Yelp and stopped in to see if they could diagnose and possibly fix my issues. The gentleman that helped me, I assume the owner (unfortunately I didn't get his name), put me up on the lift right away, took a listen, and found a manifold gasket that was causing a noisy, but not immediately fatal issue. He suggested I get it to someone familiar with the Delica and have the service done. He refused payment and wished me a good trip! How's this for a darn honest mechanic: I have an older Lincoln Navigator. The motor that comes on to pump the suspension full of air burned up. So he changed that motor. Then the new motor was constantly on. The next logical step was to replace the suspension bags, thinking that they had a leak to the tune of $550. He puts it on the rack only to find out that my suspension is in GREAT condition and rechecks the motor. It's a bad motor mount that he replaced. THE BOTTOM LINE: HE COULD HAVE MADE AN EASY, QUICK $550 BUT INSTEAD HE REPLACED THE MOTOR MOUNT (WHICH COST HIM TIME AND ENERGY) AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME A PENNY AND NOW MY CAR RUNS GREAT! Do they make mechanics any more ethical and honest then that?!? George and Chris are the best. Not only is he honest and hardworking but he's VERY reasonable in price and a GREAT TROUBLE SHOOTER. Had some car trouble while driving back to LA and found this place on Yelp. They connected the machine to my car and explained to me why the check engine light came on. After resetting the computer, he told me I could drive it home safely and to take it to a local mechanic so I wouldn't have to leave my car all the way in fallbrook. Unbelievable, was in a time crunch to have my RV repaired (yes, it's my fault for procrastinating) and George took my vehicle in first thing in the morning and repaired it same day, at a very fair price. Chris is a rockstar. I dropped in while out in Cali on a family emergency (from Texas) to find out why the check engine light on my mom's car was on. Although he didn't have time to do any repairs, Chris took a few moments out of his morning to check the codes and let me know what was going on so I could make better decisions. I made it back to Texas and gave him another call to see if he would give me ballpark pricing for the repairs so I wouldn't get screwed. Wonderful customer service! After taking my daughter's very sick car to another auto repair shop in town, I received a long expensive list of items that needed to be replaced for a very high price. So I felt a second opinion was necessary. I called Chris and told him about the car and what the other repair shop recommended. He told me to bring the car right over and he would give me a free estimate, which turned out to be about half of the first quote. Chris made all the necessary repairs and even went as far as to show me every part he replaced, along with a complete breakdown of costs for parts and labor. I feel we have found someone who is dependable and trustworthy, which is rare these days! I was looking for a good mechanic in Fallbrook after trying a few that I didn't like. Robbins was recommended and I called and spoke to Chris. He was very nice on the phone and told me to come in the following day. When I went in I couldn't have been more pleased. Robbins is hidden in a corner of another auto business and isn't easy to find but what a gem it is. I was afraid my cars problem would be expensive but as soon as I checked in Chris came right over to my car telling me that he was pretty sure that my repair would be a simple adjustment. A short time later (20 minutes) the adjustment was made and cost only $45. I told Chris that I would spread the word about the wonderful experience I had. George of Robbins Auto works goes above and beyond to be friendly and to provide wonderful service. I was introduced to George when the motorhome I was driving had a brake problem. He recommended I slowly get it back home (as I was not far from home at the time) rather then drive in the other direction to him. He stayed on the phone giving me tips to make sure I limped it home safely and then actually made a house call to come fix the problem! He was very knowledgable and gave all sorts of other tips about the motorhome too. Then another time I had a car with a power steering problem and though they were busy, they squeezed my car in.
