Although he quickly recognized we needed an attorney with a somewhat different specialty, Mr Kopelson offered his perspective on our circumstances which I found quite valuable. If my contact with Mr Kopelson ended at this point, I probably wouldn't have written a review. However, he sent a letter which arrived a few days after the call outlining some additional suggestions. This review is way too long overdue. Four years ago I got into a very large multiple car accident on 880 and the accident ended up closing nearly all lanes on the highway. Long story short, my car was totaled and the person at fault fled the scene (stolen car) and I did not have UM coverage with a large sum of hospital bills getting sent to me from my passengers insurance company. My lawyer I was working with ended up becoming unreachable (maybe because I did not rack up my own hospital bills..?) and I could never reach him for answers. Despite so many seriously shady looking characters on yelp under the category of Personal Injury Lawyers, I did manage to find Mr. Kopelson. I am currently dealing with AAA trying to screw my girlfriend out of a fair settlement and Mr. Kopelson gave me some valuable advice. In this case it didn't make sense to actually retain his services because it might not get her any more money after fees. Despite this, he spent over an hour on the phone with me about what I could do on my own. In other news, I'm never getting insurance with AAA again. While they have been good as my insurer in the past, being on the other side as the claimant has been horrible. Rude unprofessional behavior that is clearly designed to make us give up and take their BS offer has been their tactic since day 1. I hear this is their standard MO in claims involving bodily injury. I will be using State Farm in the future. I'm also writing this review because there are too many scum-bags padding their own reviews. Update 7 months later! After my unpleasant experience with Mr. Kopelson, I felt motivated to do my own research and educate myself on this entire process of the aftermath of a car accident. I negotiated with my mothers insurance company, myself, and got them to offer the policy limits for the other driver and her own underinsured policy limit. Had we hired Mr.Kopelson, he would have done the same and taken 40% of the money. Thanks Mr.Kopelson for saving my mom the money she would have had to pay you! When I originally spoke to Mr.Kopelson he was assuming that my mother would be at fault based on his "examples" from his previous cases, even though he didn't even see the police report or witness statements from my moms accident. Turns out the insurance company decided my mom was fault free. Other guy was 100% at fault. Oh and Medicare paid over 2 million dollars for her surgeries for her 9 broken bones. I negotiated with them as well, they sent a letter stating she does not have to reimburse medicare a penny. Again thanks Mr.Kopelson, your quick advice ended up benefiting us a lot! read more

After reading this Yelp resource I decided to give Mr. Kopelson a call. And just like the others here have said, he spent a lot of time discussing my worker's comp - personal injury case (a traffic accident while working). Right up front Mr. Kopelson advised that he couldn't take my case due to the worker's comp specialization that would be needed. But then he proceeded to discuss strategy and tactics and the need to get a thorough diagnosis of my injuries. He told me what I might expect and helped me to be more prepared. He offered to refer me to a Workers Comp. attorney as well, and advised that due to the worker's comp aspect, my case would likely be complicated by the fact that my employer also is a plaintiff, and that any settlement for my personal injury would likely come only after the insurance carrier for the defendant settles with my employer. The remarkable thing was that Robert has no stake in this and told me so up front. But despite having nothing to gain but good will, he graciously offered his time in a lengthy phone call.
