We are club members. And always enjoy our experience here. On the Sunday before Christmas, we took two friends here. As always, the service was impeccable as were the wines. Even in winter, the patio was warm and the view lovely. Our server was especially knowledgeable about the Biale, family history and all their wines. I highly recommend coming to Robert Biale Vineyards for a lovely wine tasting. You will not be disappointed!

We went for a birthday tasting and had a great seat on the patio with a view of the vineyards. Breadsticks water and wine. Service from Elena was nice! Bathrooms are clean. Cute repurposed wine bottle candle glowing. Our friends are members and man the dinner event they have sounds very nice - hope to be invited to one. We met Stephanie the events manager and she was filling us in on the dinner and other events. She was lovely!!! Love the Beatty, Heminway and Monte Rosso.

Very cute little spot, not at all fancy, more of a laid back feel. The service was great, the wine was pretty good, not my favorite but definitely worth the trip.

    Outside patio overlooking vines.

When we were recommended to take our son to try more of his favorite Zinfandel wines we were sent to Biale! Well it did not disappoint from the beautiful location, the variety of Zins and the charming and entertaining Tom our host we left enjoying this new winery. Can't wait to visit again and look for more of Tom's stories. Cheers! Well done!

    Intimate wine tasting

We had an amazing time here! The wines were amazing and we learned a lot about zinfandel wine! Beautiful scenery, and great service. I appreciate the intimate setting. The tastings were worth every penny. We will be back next time we are in town!

As a Napa Valley Chauffeur for 19 years and with the changing of the Napa Valley going more commercial, it is completely refreshing to go to smaller wineries and have my clients get the exceptional experiences that all my clients come to the Napa Valley for ! These clients have been with me for years and it's been a tough year as we lost their matriarch Mary Kay ! She always appreciated my service and I've tried to elevate my experiences for them ! Such an honor to move forward with her wishes ! Today, Alina , was their wine educator and did an exceptional job very knowledgeable, personable, even spunky ! Not to mention, Roberto was a kind, hard-working young man with just a great personality pleasure to meet him ! Robert Biale winery is small family owned intimate and the views of Atlas Peak on these cooler days really makes it a joy to do a tasting here ! Highly recommend this winery if you're looking for something a bit more rustic, less commercial and not overbearing ! CHEERS !!!

On March 23rd, my fiancée and I came here with my best friend and his, and we had one of the best experiences that we could ask for! A HUGE thank you to Alina Harvell, who was our Wine Educator during our visit. We were visiting and celebrating my birthday as well as our recent engagement, and we couldn't be more grateful for the time spent with Alina guiding us through that adventure of tasting. We LOVE history, and though we don't know a tremendous amount about wine, we learned some really cool things about Robert Biale, geography, the significance of the Zinfandel grape, and much more. We are stoked to return whenever the time comes that we are near Napa again!

This is a wonderful winery with fantastic tasting experience. The wines are amazing and well worth making an appointment for a tasting. Ask for Andrew, he's a great representative of the vineyard. Highly recommended.

It's been years since I've been back here and many more since I had my membership. My supply is running low so I had to come back and refresh the palettes with the current stock. This is a beautiful winery that focuses on Zinfandels and do a excellent job at it. I'd say it's small winery but produces amazing wine. They have increased their tasting area since I last been here and all have great views of the vineyards while you sit back and enjoy. Their signature Zin "Black Chicken" is an all time favorite and many cabs have been enjoyed throughout the years by my family. Membership rates are fairly reasonable and well worth it for all your rear round tastings. If you're planning to go to Napa, this is a must stop and preferably at the beginning. Reservations are required.

Yes they have a chicken coop!

Let me address the elephant in the room before I write anything more: I didn't like the wine at Robert Biale Vineyards. It's not just that I didn't like it, I really, really didn't like anything I was poured. That being said, my experience was quite lovely and the hospitality was warm and friendly. I booked a reservation for two people on a Monday at 10 am. I'm a GEMS member so Biale extended a 2-for-1 tasting offer, which meant two of us would get a seated tasting for just $30. I arrived right on time and wandered the grounds trying to find the entrance to the tasting room. It's a bit confusing but once you find the correct parking area, walk straight back as far as you can past the chicken coop (yes, really), towards the vines. We were seated at a high top teak table with great views of the vineyard. The seating area was covered and a little chilly with the morning breezes blowing through. Our table was set with a wine glass for each of us and a tasting menu with price sheet. Nothing more. Of course, the ubiquitous Wine Club pamphlet was also present. Since all of the wines we tasted were reds, I was surprised that there weren't any crackers or other small palate cleansers on the table. We weren't even offered water! Perhaps that would've helped me distinguish some of the flavors (although of course a cracker would not have made me enjoy the wines). At a minimum, it would've given me more gusto to power through some of the wines, especially the ones that I truly didn't care for. There was one other table with two guests already seated, but they were a bit away from us so it felt very private. Our host, a laid back, hippie surfer dude type, was delightful. He spoke in such hushed tones that I felt like I needed to whisper back to him. All of this set a quiet and relaxing mood, which really added to the homey farmhouse atmosphere. Biale makes a laundry list of different Zinfandels, but none appealed to my palate. The fruit is definitely a softer style (with what the winery likes to call "nuanced flavors"), but I just call it flat and boring. I do tend to enjoy the jammy, bold, and spicy Zins, and this isn't where you'll find that style. We tried five wines at our tasting: the 2016 Black Chicken Zinfandel ($48, light and thin in both color and flavor), the 2016 Old Kraft Zinfandel ($52, tasted like an identical twin to a pinot noir), the 2016 Varozza Zinfandel ($52, restrained old world style), the 2016 Royal Punishers Petite Sirah ($48, the darkest in color but boring fruit), and the 2015 Dessert Wine ($65, not too sweet and aged in Burgundian oak). I found all of the wines to be overpriced for what they were, but we left with a bottle of the dessert wine because it was the one we sort of enjoyed. Perhaps our host picked up on the fact that we didn't really like the wines because he waived both of our tasting fees, which I thought was extremely generous. I'd caution you to do a little research before booking a tasting here, and make a point to try at least one or two of these wines beforehand. It felt a little awkward since it's extremely rare to go to a wine tasting and enjoy nothing that was poured. This is a very leisurely tasting so allow at least 90 minutes. Even if you aren't a fan of any of the wines, you'll surely appreciate the view.

But dog friendly. Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!

Smooth like butter, really. The Chardonnay is citrusy and creamy which is how I prefer my Chards (although I don't mind buttery every now and again). The Pinot stole my heart. It was a mix of everything that I adore: floral, fruit forward, round, and it has this amazing lingering finish that it just like woooow. Loved it to absolute pieces. I also recommend adding the charcuterie plate, which came with three cheeses, crackers, dried cranberries, and honey and paired very nicely with the sparkling wines. Caviar is also available if you want to make the experience more indulgent. Dylan gave us a quick overview of the differences among the tastings and explained the four flutes of sparkling wine we would be trying. For me, Domaine Carneros is especially well suited to someone who wants to sit back, sip sparkling wine, and enjoy a beautiful vineyard view. It would also be a lovely choice for a romantic date. If you're looking for an in-depth educational tasting with extensive discussion about the winery's history or the individual wines, you may need to take the initiative and ask more questions. Our experience was more about enjoying the wines, the château, and the scenery than receiving a detailed wine education. And sometimes, sitting on a terrace overlooking Napa vineyards with four glasses of sparkling wine with some cheese and crackers to nibble on is a pretty great experience in itself.
