very rude staff up front, Dr was very nice and professional. was not greeted and felt like it was a problem for me to be there. computers were down but no call in advance to reschedule appt. The one on 71st is much more up to date and has a great staff. These girls at Harvard need a class on how not to be rude ! Will continue to see Dr. Zollinger but will do it at 71st I would not advise as a clinic to anybody that's going to the one on Harvard. read more

Based on how quickly they were tending to other clients, I believe I was an exception to the norm, but I did end up spending 2.5 hours at the office and only about 30 minutes of that time was spent actually being seen by staff/the doc. The woman who checked me in was shocked by me still being there after she returned from her lunch break. It was my first eye appointment and the process of getting a prescription was pretty quick. The doctor did talk me into getting the Optomap done in order to check the health of my retinas for an additional $29 not covered by insurance. I asked if the doctor felt it was necessary and she said she would recommend it so I went ahead and got it done. I got a photo of each eye and while the photo was cool, it was a 5 minute process from getting the photos taken to the doc looking at them and giving me the all clear. It doesn't impact ones ability to drive at all like dilation does, but I personally wouldn't recommend doing this unless you feel like there is really something wrong with your eyes. (I'm not a doctor however so whether or not you actually should is something you should have a serious conversation with your doc about or do your research on.) They do have a very wide selection of frames many of which are covered by a number of types of insurance. Additionally they have various types of additions you can get for your lenses. I got the blue light protectant and it's serving me well this far. All in all I feel as though it was a pleasant enough experience minus the amount of time I had to sit in the waiting room. The staff are friendly and the office does complete glasses orders in about an hour. read more

Took 3 kids there. We have private insurance and soonercare. I was told we couldn't use soonercare, only the private insurance. When I asked why they acted annoyed. We ended up using the private insurance and paying the copay for the glasses. We were told the glasses would be in in about 7-10 days. We live about an hour away so I called when I was in town to see if they glasses were ready yet. It had been 7 days. They were extremely rude and told me "it takes 7-10 business days and it has only been 5. Be patient and we will let you know when they are ready. You don't need to call". We called on the 10th business day because we were in town and was hung up on. A couple hours later got a text saying they were ready. Get there to get them and they were rude again. I don't plan to return. read more

Ok, I have been using Dr Z for about 10 yrs. I have had no problems in the past. However, if you are the one hiring for the front desk, you might want to check out a few employees. I called the 31st office first and they told me there was no way for them to look and see if my insurance was accepted. I have the same eye insurance I've had for the last 5 years, which they have on file. I called my insurance, yes, Dr Z is in network. So, frustrated I called the 71st office. They said yes they took my insurance and I could just come in as a walk in. Upon arriving, a very young lady acted as though I were putting her out and then said I needed to call my insurance because she couldn't do that. Her attitude was so rude I got very upset. I called my insurance company, and walked back to the front desk. She me cut off and said, "I found it." Even her coworker looked at me like whoa, attitude. The rest of the visit was very pleasant and that person was not seen again. Maybe she was having a bad day, still, my husband and I spent over $400 that day plus whatever they get from insurance. Hopefully next year will be better at the Front. Thanks to everyone else that helped us that day. read more

Yes I was told on the phone that if I could be at their office by 5:30 that I could get an appointment this evening. I was there by 5:30 but when I got there I was told the doctors left at 5:15 I drove all the way from out of town to get here only to be told " sorry I don't know who told you that, but our doctors left at 5:15." That's just not right expecially since they say on their website they're open until 7. I rate this business a zero! I only gave it a one-star because I had to! read more

The worst place in Tulsa! It took 2,5 months and multiple visits to get the eyeglasses and contacts. Always long wait, even if you make an appointment. Rude staff. Wrong prescription. And most important- every time you request something or complain (such as, request clear communication about your insurance benefits, prescription verification etc), they do everything to make your experience even worse. They put the wall, called "office rules" between themselves and customer. They don't even try to listen to customer's needs. Never again coming back! read more

I thought everyone was friendly and everything was done quickly and efficiently. They have THE BEST selection of frames I have seen in several visits to other optometrists in the area. Run Run Run I cannot stress that enough. Like the other review, I loved the idea of the extended hours. I call to make an appointment, and the first question they ask "glasses or contacts?" How about letting me get an eye appointment first before asking me such nonsense? When I asked the girl about making an appointment, she tells me that is their policy. 4 and 1/2 hours to get our glasses today!! We were told at 11:05 to be back at 1. Came back at 1:20. 2 pair done, 2 pair done wrong, and 2 pair not even started! Told it would take 30 mins to fix the screw ups and get the other 2 pair done. Finally at 4:30 the lady came in (from outside) with the other 4 pair!! My family has been going to your store for about 10 years. We will never return!!! If they can't teach their employees to be straight forward and honest about the wait!! Never again. Some of the staff are very rude. Absolutely conveyor belt service. Front desk also do the testing which does not inspire confidence. Then they complain about customer when customer objects to letting untrained student be involved in tests. Asked for specialized advice on screening for glaucoma and cataracts. My concern was not even conveyed to optometrist who thought I was there for glasses only. When I objected to student involvement in my screening, I was chewed out by optometrist for not being nice enough to her staff. I was thoroughly insulted by this experience. Optometrist then threatened to withhold my prescription after I spent a miserable 90 minutes there. The customer is not only "always right "at 31st and Harvard location but "never right" in my experience. Extremely inexperienced staff, who seem to be controlling the operation. read more

HORRIBLE! My mom got her eyes checked on Thursday evening. We picked out her glasses and were told it would be 2 hours when they would be done, come back at 6:45pm.. Ok great! Not an issue. Well around 6:15pm we got a call that the machine was down and they wont be done Thursday. We live over an hour away and cant afford to drive to Tulsa several times to check on the status of the glasses. She told them she would come back Saturday morning. Today, she goes up there and they made her glasses WRONG! With bifocal lenses instead of the progressive lenses. Two trips, and still NO GLASSES! They then tried to charge her another $80, after shes already paid $150! And mail her the glasses for another fee as well. UM NO. She asked for a refund.. She was told they couldnt because theres no cash in the drawer, just ones and fives?? Ok, you're a huge business, go to the bank and get money out. Over this! It shouldnt of been this hard to have good customer service. read more

Wow. I chose this office because of the extended evening and weekend hours. I walked in at 3pm on a Sunday and was seen right away! I was told several times that I would be the "last patient" for the day---despite the hours posted being 6pm. It was clear they were in a hurry to get me out of there. I had a contact fitting that was unbelievably unpleasant, but whatever...I made it through the assembly line. I payed for my contacts and was told I would be notified when they arrived. Since I've not worn contacts before I thought it was a little crazy that I hadn't heard anything after a few weeks, but I waited two more weeks before trying to call. I tried to call on a weeknight just before 6pm (the hours are listed open until 7pm) and received no answer. I called the next day and after having to give my name and birthday 4 times to the same person, I was transferred to the contact people. The woman that answered was extra short with me and sounded PISSED that I had the audacity to call about my order. She informed me that they tried to call me on March 20th. I told her I did not receive any calls. She then said "we called March 20th. Yes, it shows here the 20th" in a super hateful tone. So...I pulled up my phone records since I have an internet phone that monitors all incoming and outgoing calls and there was absolutely NEVER a call from them at ANY point. In closing: assembly line atmosphere, NOT actually open the hours listed, customers are made to feel like they are in the way, lie about notification phone calls AND (the icing on the cake) totally the wrong prescription--I can't see anything more than a few feet away clearly. read more

Stay away from this joint! Went in for new glasses from a prescription I got from another Doctor. Had insurance and the cost was pretty reasonable. Ordered, paid and waited the 2 weeks. When the glasses came, I couldn't see squat to read at any distance. Their first answer was that the other doctor got the scrip wrong. Ok, it happens. I went in again and had a recheck done. It was slightly different. Went with their prescription. Two more weeks and went back to pick them up...same deal. Can't see anything up close. Now here I am 4 weeks out and no glasses. They seemed to believe by their demeanor that I was an idiot and they had only done what we agreed to on the scrip. I left them there and said you guys figure it out and call me. I e dead up calling back and found out they threw in the towel and were going to just refund me. Still no glasses. I could see great thru the testing machine but could not see anything close thru the glasses. Something isn't right so instead of trying to get to the bottom of it they just throw in the towel. Disappointing to say the least. Asked for the optical manager to call me to discuss why the issues are there and never heard back from them. Too many other sheep to shear I guess. Like I said, run like hell folks. I'm not an idiot . I know how and when I can see things. This ain't my first set of glasses. Personallly I don't think they made either set of lenses correctly but who knows. Stay away. read more

I have gotten glasses here twice, both times the office failed to call me to let me know my glasses had arrived. they sat down there for days. I live 60 miles from the office and need to plan my trips. over all customer service sucks, lots of people standing around but you still wate to pay and wait to be helped will not use again. read more

Wish I had read all of the BAD recent reviews. But as I have used the Harvard & 71st St office for the last 10+ years was sure that the quality of care would be the same. BOY Dr Z what has happened to your eye clinics - such rude people - they act as if you are bothering them if you ask questions - no organization to anything - not enough people to take care of the volume of patients - again no organization & employees having to ask other employees how to do patient paper work. Terrible!!! I created an account on Yelp JUST to warn people of this place. The actual doctor was decent, but the girls there are so rude. They huddle together and make you feel SO uncomfortable. There are FAR too many workers there. I 100% felt as though I was interrupting a little high school party. First impression is everything to me, and I got a terrible one from beginning to end. The doctor was kind, but I still felt as though he was rushing me out. He didn't take the time to really ask me what was going on with my eyes. I only saw him for about 5 minutes then was thrown into the pit of girls for them to finish everything else up. I went twice - and dreaded going back the second time. I went without contacts for 2 months just to avoid the place lol. Then finally just found a new optometrist. read more

Very poor customer service and slow. Went in to get my glasses fix cause right side of temple broke. They said they can ordered it and it should only take about 4 to 5 days but I waited a week and never hear anything so I call them and it seems like they never ordered it. They told me it's on order so I waited two more weeks and herd nothing, I call them back and this time they said they can't ordered a temple for the glasses that I have and they will have to ordered a new whole glasses. Why didn't they call me and tell me all this instead of me waited for weeks expecting part was on ordered. It's been a month now and I still haven't hear from them. I am new to the Tulsa area and tried this place based on a referral from someone at work. I have been wearing glasses/contacts since age 5 and I am now in my late 30's this is the most disorganized unprofessional office optometrist office I have ever been a patient with. I had myself and my son for a doctor's visit and contacts. When you walk in you are made to feel very much like you are part of an assembly line. When I met with the Doctor the interpersonal skills were minimal to nonexistent. After going through the exam I returned several weeks later (after not receiving a phone call/email etc. to let me know that my contacts were in. I had to call and follow-up and track things down) only to sit through the contact fitting and discover that I cannot see out of them. Unbelievable I have never had a doctor get my prescription completely wrong. The clues about incompetence were rampant and too numerous to detail here, needless to say I will never go back to any Zoellner and associates office. read more

If I had a way to give zero stars, that is what I would do. I went to their website today to email them but that wasn't even an option so I will give them a review here and in other places. The young lady at the desk was rude and uncooperative. I have never been to a doctor's office where they wouldn't call the number on the back of the insurance card to verify my benefits. She expected me to tell her how to find my insurance in her system, even though the name of my insurance was clearly typed on the card. While I waited in their office, I called my insurance and had a list of providers sent to me. I took my phone to their desk to show her that they accepted my insurance. She refused to make copies of my cards or listen to me when I repeatedly told her that I was covered under two insurances. I ended up leaving their office furious. I called optometrists from the Zoellner parking lot and I will be going to their competitor today. On a side note: Their bathrooms were totally disgusting. I had to search for a place to put my purse to keep it out of water or off of the filthy floor. read more

I just left the Harvard store very frustrated and angry. I was told that I needed to come back in a week because I had inflammation in my eyes. I completely understand that part and I'm happy with that. When I go to check it out I'm told my eye exam is $75. I asked about the special price that they advertise and was told that because I was not filling the prescription today the special was no good. I told her I was told not to today, she told me she would check and see if they could make that exception for me. I was then told that yes they would do that, but my prescription was going to be another $160. I expressed my frustration and was told that that is why you were told to ask an associate. How do you know to ask an associate about a diagnosis that you don't know you have? I asked about glasses and was told again that if I wanted to get a different prescription they would honor the $129 price but that is not what the doctor prescribed. I called to speak with the manager and she was conveniently in a meeting. I am hooked into going back for my check up after I finish the prescription she gave me but I will never again use them. Good luck! I gave this company a one star rating because it was impossible to give them no stars. read more

Let's just say I only went to his South office to buy frames because they take my insurance. I DID NOT use them for my exam thank God! So after receiving my new glasses after 8 months of wearing them the Anti reflective coating started to come off so I take my glasses in and with no problem the young girl orders me new lenses, great 8 days later they call to tell me they're in and to come by and it will take an hour to put them in my frames so 1 1/2 hrs later they hand them to me and cannot see a darn thing so the girl goes to the back to check the prescription and sure enough it's not mine! She tells me my insurance messed up the new lenses. What!?! I don't think so! She said that now she needs my frames to send them off to have the new lenses put in them and normally that should take about 8 to 10 business day but that she will put a rush on them so I gave her my glasses and left, got in my car and called my insurance company and they told me they did not mess up my lenses that the opticians most likely cut them wrong. I knew the girl at Dr. Z's office lied to me but I waited another 8 days to get my glasses (remember she was suppose to put a rush on them) yea right! Now this is where it gets interesting, i go back in the 69th and memorial store and I get checked in with only 2 people in front of me so the wait shouldn't be long right? Well 45 minutes later I go up to the counter and asked her how much longer it might be, the girl rolled her eyes and said "Mam there is only one more person in front of you" so I said ok and sat down but... Yep you guessed it 30 minutes later I went back to the counter and said "please just hand my glasses to me I will take them some place else if they need to be adjusted I'm not waiting any longer" and she started telling me that it's Spring Break and they do not have enough help I just needed to be patient! I asked to talk to a manager and I told him about my experience with the coating coming off my glasses the lenses not being cut right waiting 16 days and an 1 hr and 40 later I told him I just want my glasses! Right? He asked me to go to the back so we could talk about my "less than professional experience". Which we did talk and he was nice but he saw my frustration and apologized. That place is a chop shop! Very unprofessional, loud and very inexperienced people. I asked if Dr. Z ever checks on his clinics to see how things are going and the office manager said no that's he's a very busy man and they rarely see him if ever. Save yourself people! Just spend extra money and go some place professional. I will say again that I did not use them for my exam just my frames. read more
