Very disappointing experience with this ENT doctor. My 80-year-old mother was seen after a fall with a nasal fracture, and the doctor was dismissive, rough during the exam, and did not review her hospital records. He repeatedly focused on "not getting paid" instead of patient care and suggested a painful procedure with no anesthesia. We left feeling uncomfortable and would not recommend this provider, especially for elderly patients. read more

my mom went in for what should have been a routine visit for an ear infection and left in tears. DR Robert delivered extremely serious news about potential hearing loss in both ears with zero compassion. there was no empathy, no explanation, and no effort to soften or properly guide her though what he was saying. it was blunt, cold and unnecessarily harsh.what made this even worse was witnessing him yell at her assistant who was helping him completely unprofessional and uncomfortable for everyone in the room. if this is how he treats his own staff, it says a lot about how patients can expect treatment.doctors should understand that beside manner matters just as much as medical knowledge. my mom left feeling scared, dismissed, and emotionally shaken. i would not recommend this doctor to anyone who values respect, empathy, or basic human decency. read more

A big thank you goes out to Robert Habbelstad, my mother had a follow up appointment for a previous nosebleed along with a hearing test. I appreciate such a well oiled team that works well with this doctor. Such care went out as the nursing staff cleaned out her ears. They asked her do you have any pain? How do you feel? Do you have any questions. There was a second nurse that came in to check how clean her ears were. After that she walked into another room to have a hearing test. The staff member who did that was amazing. We were sent out to the waiting room to wait to hear from the Dr. Habbelstad. The nurse staff called us back and the doctor went over the report. Such care, I appreciate the Dr.Habbelstad, went over the outcome of the hearing test, the prescription of the new medication. So very thankful for this. read more

Everything was ok first visit MRI set up. I was there for chronic sinus infections and severe allergic reaction, swollen tongue dry heeves and all first thing after getting up following severe post nasal drip. I return Quack Habbestad says MRI clear nothing wrong. I said something causing these issues. He slams his hand on the table and says "I said there's nothing wrong". What about the chronic infections? He says "I don't know why" what about deviated septum? He says "No one will touch you at your size. I'm overweight but not huge. What about severe post nasal drip that has altered my voice in my vocal cords? I told you there's nothing wrong!!! Then he says oh you have an extra tooth one more then normal in your gums. I asked where? He yells at me like I'm an idiot for asking and yells "I DONT KNOW! I'll give you some Claritin if you want." I was at a total loss for words. He says wait in the front while the girls type your notes and give you paperwork then throws in I can refer you to an allergist as a last thought. Went to the front sat but became more angry replaying what just happened so I got up and left. Better than storming back in to give him a piece of my mind. Maybe he was but in my opinion based on my visit I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. He needs to retire because I believe a Dr who would not only be rude and harass and not even attempt to treat severe issues with over the counter Claritin has bigger issues of his own and no business treating patients. I feel bad for the van loads of disabled and mentally handicapped patients being wheeled into his office. This office is horrible! I sent them a picture of my medical card and I was given a referral from My doctor. When I went to my appointment they informed me that they don't take my insurance. They could have told me that yesterday when I sent them a picture of my card. After looking at the reviews for this doctor it looks like I dodged a bullet anyway. You are all truly awful people. I took my daughter for frequent tonsil infections. Long story short, she needs her tonsils removed. The doctor proceeded to focus on a medical procedure that was not needed which was putting tubs in her ears (she doesn't get ear infections) i told him that i decline that and to please focus on her tonsils since that's what my daughters pediatrician referred me for, Dr. Habbestad sad "he's not the specialist i am, i make the call here". I left it at that. Next appointment comes by so he can test her ears. My daughter is 2, the TV was on and she was crying, he proceded to say she has mild hearing loss on 1 ear. Which is not true. He continued talking about tubes and my husband told him respectfully again that we decline that, Dr. Habbestad got upset and told my husband "i don't think there is a good relationship enteren us so I'm going by to just refer you to Loma Linda". This office is rude, careless and clueless. They don't seem to know what their doing at times. When they submitted the referral to Loma Linda they submitted it correctly. I called my daughters medical group and they said they submitted it correctly and the next day they canceled it for some reason and resubmitted it incorrectly. When I gave them my insurance card that allows me to see any doctor I was told I needed my medicare card. I had been instructed by my insurance to only present my insurance card, and verified that I could be seen by any doctor. In addition I have never been refused by any doctor's office including the ones that initially requested my medicare card. I have also been told by offices to only bring the primary card, which in this case is my insurance.I asked them if they would call my insurance and they refused to do so. I called my insurance they confirmed I didn't need my medicare card and that my medicare is confirmed through them. I then went back and explained this to one of the employees and was told that without it I would not be seen. At that point I left. Having been refused service I called them back and asked them if they would call my insurance. The agent refused to answer the question and just kept repeating that they needed my medicare card. After asking them point blank several times if they would call my insurance they continued to refuse to answer. At that point I conceded defeat and hung up. The rub was that my wife recommended this doctor having seen him the previous day. When I told her they wouldn't see me and why she informed me that she had not had to present her medicare card. My disappointment stems from outright refusal to to even call which would have clarified the issue. read more

He looked in a hurry and not in a good mood. With very few communication, he finished checking in a few mins and went out before I even got a chance to asked questions. If I could give no stars I would. If you take your Heath serious then do not come here. The doctor himself is good at what he does and nice. The staff on the other hand? No so much. I went into their office two weeks ago and left with an order for an MRI by the doctor himself. I go home and make the appt with the MRI place only to be called the day of the appt that the Doctors office that ordered the MRI did not put the order through. So I spent the second week on the phone going back and forth with the MRI approval people and the doctors office. I was finally told that Dr. Habbestad or his staff would have to call a simple number to put a rush on the order for it to go through faster seeing that as each day goes by my hearing gets worse and worse. Today I call the office because again nothing has been done. I not only get hung up on twice but I get treated badly by the staff. finally after the 3rd staff member answers I'm told they would have to call me back because they don't have my file. Um if I'm not mistaken all patient files are in that office so I'm not sure where it is that the staff member has to get the file from. For your sake or your family members sake avoid this place. I had ear issues and very thankfully was able to get an appointment with Dr. Habberstad with little wait. I also had little wait in the office. Dr. H cleaned my ear, gave me a hearing test, ear drops, and a prescription for antibiotics. I was scheduled back for 8 days later. The appointment was this morning and already my ear no longer hurts. I am very confident it this physician. He clearly knows how to diagnose and treat complicated ear and hearing issues. read more

This had to be the worst appointment I've ever had for my son. My son is autistic so it's hard for him to stay still and is always moving around. The dr came in the room and right off the bat just said "so what's wrong with him" and I was trying to explain and hold my son and the same time and he kept saying so what's wrong? Finally we got to the main point and he asked me "how many words can he say" I have no clue why this had anything to do with my sons ear problem. Once I told him he has autism he said "that explains a lot" so rude, that is not the way you approach a child. He's only 2 1/2. I will find a new specialist for my son. i wish yelp had an option for negative stars!!! run fast!! do not even think about coming here. ive taken my son here 2 times, the referral was for his enlarged tonsils to be removed. so our first visit we walkes in, i asked if we have to sign anything, so yhey gave me a clip board, told me to fill it out super fast. i fill a quarter of it out, and they rush me and my son in the room. so at this time nurses are giving us attitudes, and they dont even tell us anything, they leave us in the room for a bit until the """"dr"""" comes in. he comes in and asks us so....... what do you need. excuse me????!!! i let him know my son has enlarged tonsils and we need to get an opinion to see if they need removal. dr """"h:""" says , without looking at him well he needs to get his hearing checked . i told him what does that have to do with anything, he said yea yea we need to reschedule him. so weeeeks later we come in for his hearing test and they tell us again we have to reschedule to get results. i reschedule and they tell us we have to make another appt to talk to the dr""" about the hearing test. long story short i call to get the results weeks later and say everything is fine. today they call me the first time at 9am telling me i have to make an appt for something never explained to me, and i tell them i am busy at work i will call later. they continuously called and called and called, and i answered and told them i am busy!!! but kept calling from a different number. this clinic, the doctors and nurses will keep harassing you for money. i had to call iehp to change this dr asap!!!! . please stay away! especially if you have kids!! read more

This place is the worst the doctor was so rude to me and my grandpa he had us waiting in a room for more then 20 minutes and when I checked to see where he was he was sitting down drinking coffee he then saw me, put his coffee down and proceeded to "check" my grandpa he asked my grandpa unnecessary questions like when did his parents die why they died how old were they when they died and how old was my grandpa when they died which had nothing to do with what we went for and made my grandpa uncomfortable and kind of sad for the rest of the day. after he checked him up he sent us to the waiting room TWO times he then asked his assistant to tell my grandpa what he needed to take he looked at us bad and left with a sigh. Please please please do not allow this man to perform surgery on your sinuses. I had surgery by him in 1999 for recurring sinus infections. He was supposed to help widen my nasal passages by trimming the turbinates, which are the folds on the inside of your nose that keep your nasal passages moist and help protect against infection. He completely botched the surgery. Over the next year or so, the recurring infections were constant, and he kept treating me, and I trusted him because I didn't know any better. He finally said that I needed more surgery, but he wasn't able to do it. So began a series of 4 sinus surgeries by another doctor attempting to do damage control on what Dr. Habbestad did. I had so much scar tissue and so many polyps in my sinuses as a result of that botched surgery that it was trapping infection. There was so much infection in my head that both the new doctor and the nurses wondered how I was walking around with that severe of an infection in my head. I'm quite lucky it didn't push through the frontal sinus wall and cause sepsis or meningitis.I continue to have severe sinus issues as a direct result of this doctor's lack of skill and refusal to pass on a surgery he should never have taken on to begin with. I spoke to several local attorneys about a malpractice suit, but unfortunately, by the time we had discovered the extent of the damage done, it was too late to file a lawsuit. I am incredibly thankful for the care that I received from another doctor who essentially saved my life with the subsequent surgeries. read more

PLEASE! If you are reading this and have already made your appointment​, CANCEL immediately. If you are thinking of obtaining his services​, THINK AGAIN. I was referred here by my PCM (who did not personally choose this poor excuse of a Doctor) and I made the huge mistake of not researching him. I have suffered from severe nasal congestion​, sleep apnea, ​and allergic rhinitis. During my first​ visit, I took notice of his lack-luster office setup/layout, outdated machinery, ​ and mediocre staff professionalism. With ALL due respect, I quickly noticed the type of patient he preys upon; the unfortunate, less knowledgeable​ and those​ who do NOT even speak English​! I was appalled​. You can hear him very loudly from the waiting area as he uses his "assistants" as interpreters. I overheard him suggest surgeries, medications and in my opinion, premature and bogus diagnoses. He sat with me all of 3-5 minutes; asked basic questions, looked in my nostrils and throat, told me I have​ a deviated septum​ and instructed me to return after I completed a CT scan. He wrongfully prescribed​ a medication that upon researching, I declined to take due to the negative effects​ it could have. During the second visit, I brought this to his attention and he seemed shocked that I had done my homework. He agreed I should not take the medication. He looked at my CT scan, said he didn't​ know what was wrong with me​ but advised I have my tonsils removed even though I have NEVER had any prior issues or complications (I am 42 years old). He instructed me to return for the​ third time so he can finally "examine" my nose/throat. During my third visit, I brought my wife so she can witness what I had told her. This is where I drew the line. He was unprofessional and borderline​ disrespectful with his questioning and antics. While in the examining room he asked my wife were we married, for how long, where are we from and why are we here. Don't​ get this confused with a doctor who is building rapport with a patient, this was NOT that. This felt weird. Without a formal diagnosis, I left and never returned. I ignored the future calls from his office who had the audacity to call my Father who resides out of state to inform him that I needed to come in for surgery. This so-called doctor is a blood-sucking​ leech, who is profiting from a system that desperately needs reform. As he was doing procedures he really never explain to me what he was doing; I was under the impression he was looking in my eye and I was sent and I felt a painful pinch and I never got a warning. I go to this doctor after 2 other hospital visits due to a horrible ear infection that has been causing immense pain in my ear for two weeks. This doctor simply said he couldn't see the problem behind all the ear wax so we immediately try and "flush" it out. After the doctor's failed first attempt, he let his nurse handle my ear flushing and after she couldn't do it, she sent someone else in and they couldn't do it either. They sent me home in immense amount of pain from the "flushing" and the "picking" with a second appointment scheduled 7 days later. After 7 more days of pain and peroxide remedying (15 drops of peroxide 3x a day were the doctor's strict orders, no other remedy was recommended and other remedies like Debrox was not mentioned), the doctor immediately takes me in and tries to remove the ear wax. The way he went into my ear felt like "brute force" for a 3 week infection that after the first minute or so, I begged him to stop performing and curled in the chair from severe pain. Nurses did not tend to me, ease the discomfort nor ease the removal process but immediately put me down the chair again and poured lots of peroxide in my ear. They will leave me there 2 more times after this one and each time they removed the peroxide, they would go at it again in "flushing" out my ear or picking at it. They couldn't get the ear wax out and told me to come back a third time on two days later and "for sure they would get it". After having 2 failed attempts, spending $420 in 2 weeks, and leaving me in a pained/weakened state I could not handle it. The lack of knowledge this doctor has in carefully removing a severe ear infection is beyond me to where as I was in the room, this doctor is contacting someone else and explaining to them my health condition. The final piece to my horrible experience with this clinic is the day before my appointment they contact me to confirm the scheduling and I cancelled the appointment only to receive a phone call from my "emergency contact" a few hours later with news that this clinic has contacted my emergency contact to confirm my "appointment for tomorrow" with them. This is in breach of contract with privacy laws and I did not appreciate this at all. I ignored it because I already told them before that I cancelled and perhaps it was a second nurse in the clinic who called my contact. But no, the day of the appointment I receive a phone call from the clinic asking if I'm "sure that I want to cancel the appointment and not reschedule" even though my appointment was scheduled for 8am and they called at 4:15pm. They tried to bribe me with a discounted offer but how can you trust a medical clinic, let alone a doctor who runs a facility that makes you feel like a lab rat, makes you spend $420 (cash or check. They don't even accept credit cards!), does not have anything to show for, breaches their privacy contract, and solicits you to come back. And I did not feel like a patient in this clinic but a lab rat that was supposed to lie still, take the pain, and to be poked at with nothing to gain out of it but pain. If you have severe ear infections, I do not recommend this doctor. read more
