Although I love my hair, the pricing was absurd. I've been going here off and on for a few years and have seen my stylist twice before but I've never done a full balayage with her. She did a very great job and was very thorough. She kept me updated on the entire process on what she was doing and is very educated. But when the receptionist told me how much the price was for my full balayage and haircut... I wanted to faint. I was in such shock, I didn't even know what to do. It's the most I've ever spent on my hair for a full balayage, even triple the amount. It was over $950.... And that's not including tip yet. Im not sure if this is because of inflation but as much as I'd love to come back here I physically can't afford it. It keeps me up at night knowing how much I spent and I'm just so upset the pricing was that much. Maybe it's my fault for not asking but I thought it could not be more than at most $500, let alone double that. It's upsetting I spent that much but lesson learned the hard way unfortunately. I got my second scalp treatment done today by Micah. Both times I have seen Micah he has given great care and attention to ensure that I am as comfortable and relaxed as possible, always checking in throughout the process to make sure his client is having the best service. I have been having a lot of problems recently with my scalp being very dry and itchy. Micah's treatment greatly helped the health of my scalp and relieve the frustrating issues I've been having with it. The advice he gives is also extremely helpful in helping me maintain the health of my scalp. Alisha is very friendly, she asked a lot of questions about my hair, how I care for it, what my routine is like, and she was able to replicate the exact A-line haircut I showed her from a photo. My stylist on the eastside recommended Robert Leonard, when I was looking to switch back to Seattle. I called and made an appointment for my daughter and I. I was thrilled they were able to get us both in mid-morning on a Saturday (the next day). Upon walking through the door, I got a tiny bit nervous. Although clean, and bright, this salon is not what I'd call modern. The clientelle also seems to skew a bit older. Nevertheless, my daughter and I both got great cuts. I saw Taylor, who quickly, and expertly, whipped my hair into shape. My daughter wanted to cut her mid-back curls all the way to pixie length. She wasn't sure what she wanted- just something that would still look feminine and pretty, but also very short. Amy found the perfect balance. She loves her cut and has received so many compliments! Excuse the long review - long story short COME SEE MICAH AT ROBERT LEONARD!!!! I was really ready to never walk into a hair salon again after my hair was fried off in an attempt to go blonde at another salon. I tried every home remedy and actually hurt my scalp even more in the process not knowing what I was doing. Alisha gave me my first official balayage and I was really happy with the results! Something that I really appreciated was her being upfront and discussing pricing before starting on my hair, so that I knew what I was paying when I left. I was invited to come in and try the salon recently and I'm glad that I did, I tried a few salons up north and hated their work. I think I may have found a new salon home. The salon itself is beautiful with gorgeous Asian influenced and locally based artwork all over the salon. My favorite things are the gorgeous woodwork partitions hanging on the walls and turned into stylist stations. The salon also has AMAZING products; Oribe, Rene Futerer and Moroccan Oil. If you have not tried Oribe, consider it. My appointment was made with Chelsea and it ran a little late, I waited about 20 minutes for her to finish up. Once I was finally seated in the chair, we had a consultation. I'm a push over and really just wanted something different of the stylists choosing. I told her I wanted to keep my length but add lots of layers for body and movement. Before I knew it, she was mixing color and applying it to my roots. The goal was to match my roots to give me something that would grow out gracefully. After that, she tipped my ends and I went under the dryer to lift the color. In the end, I had an ombré look that I really like. I wish I had a little more layering and more of the color had lifted, considering the extra wait I had initially, I would have been fine sitting there a little longer but hopefully we can remedy that on my next visit. read more

I had a very disappointing cut & color here after seeing the same stylist for about 6-8 mos. I called the salon immediately to let them know -- they wanted photos and the manager was very understanding & helpful trying to find a way to fix the problems. I will def continue with another stylist at this salon. However I was surprised that i didn't hear from the actual stylist who did the original cut & color but also understand that could be awkward for both of us. I'll start this by saying I has pretty basic, straight-ish, brown hair. Easy to give it a boring, flat trim up. Until I met the actually hair god, Johnny. He really is as good as it gets. He honestly does something magical with my hair that really doesn't make sense to me but does make me smile and feel great! He is very fascinating and very entertaining (without going overboard). He does a great job reviewing what his plan is and making sure you are both having the same vision before he sets off on his journey to create magic through hair art. He also takes huge pride in his work - in fact, with many previous hair stylist, I used to get badgered to come back to get hair cuts more often. I have long straight hair that is generally quite healthy, so my motivation to get a hair cut is typically 6 months in when I decide it's too long. Regardless, he recently told me that when people of my hair type come back sooner than 3-4 months, he feels he hasn't done his job well. The way he layers your hair allows it to grow out beautifully.
