The 2nd girl advised me to call my insurance company. So, I did. The insurance company called the office and we did a 3 way call. Becky, who handles the insurance and billing was beyond rude. I never raised my voice, yet she was screaming at me. I asked her why she was so hostile & angry. She accused me of talking over her, which I didn't do. I ended up hanging up on her because she was so out of control. I will never be back to this office, which is a shame because everyone was pretty nice. One bad apple can ruin the bunch. UPDATE.... I just received a call from Dr. Thousands office. The Dr. had heard about what happened and how I was talked to and treated. His office was overly apologetic. They have dealt with the employee, appropriately and made things right. I have never written a review before and I really appreciate this office, caring about me, as their patient and not being alright with how I was treated. I knew the doctor and his family personally as they used to visit and sit at a restaurant I worked at years ago. We regularly recommended the practice to friends and family because of the excellent care and personal touch. As the practice has grown, that family feeling has disappeared. What once felt patient-focused now feels much more impersonal. There have been several concerns over the past few years. While a payment issue we experienced was ultimately resolved, it was still disappointing. More recently, my husband has repeatedly had negative experiences with his hygienist. We typically schedule our appointments together and are on the same cleaning and X-ray schedule, yet his appointments consistently take significantly longer. He has often felt that much of his appointment time is spent being lectured rather than receiving treatment. At his most recent visit, the office was already running behind due to an employee meeting. My husband had an important work commitment afterward and informed the hygienist at the start of the appointment that he needed to leave by a specific time. Despite reminding her of his time constraints during the visit, the appointment continued to run long. Ultimately, he had to leave before the doctor was able to come in. Rather than reaching out to hear his perspective after nearly a decade as a patient, the practice chose to dismiss him from the office altogether. That decision was surprising and disappointing. What makes this especially sad is that we spent years enthusiastically referring people to this practice because of the positive experiences we once had. Growth is a wonderful thing, but somewhere along the way, the personal care and loyalty to long-term patients that made this office special seem to have been lost.

I was told I needed a tooth pulled and then either a permanent bridge or an implant. Dr. Santiago…read moresaid he could do either one. I opted for an implant. So the tooth was pulled and a bone graft was put in its place. I had to wait 6 months before the implant could be installed. 6 months later I went in and was told I needed to have a special xray taken by a different dentist at a cost of $195. When the results of the xray were sent to Dr. Santiago, he told me he would have his receptionist call me the next day and set up an appointment for the implant. The next day the receptionist called and said that Dr. Santiago said I needed to call a certain dentist to have the implant finished. No explanation why even though he had already been paid for some of the work. He didn't have the courtesy to explain to me what the problem was and why he couldn't do it. I don't believe any doctor should treat a patient this way espcially when the cost of the procedure was so high. I would never recommend Dr. Santiago to a friend. EVER.

Their office is no frills but that is ok, other places you are paying for their fancy decor! We used to go to another clinic (actually I have tried several) and always felt like i was dealing with used car salesmen with constant upsells and un-needed "treatment plans". A while back another clinic told my husband he needed a crown for a sore tooth or otherwise he would need a root canal. We went here (because they were significantly less for a crown than other place) and Dr. David did xray and said, You ALREADY HAD a root canal, it is fine, you just need some sensitive toothpaste, and that took care of. Talk about being honest! My husband is disabled and the staff is always kind and helpful in getting him accomodated and transfered around. Quite happy.
