Dr. Trunk is super friendly but also great at what she does. She's also realistic - she encourages strong oral hygiene but doesn't talk to you like a lot of other dentists can (read: condescendingly). She just chats with you. The hygienists are also quick and professional and clearly enjoy what they do. I also had a more major procedure done (root canal and crown due to a mistake from a previous dentist) and that was as pleasant as could be. They are professional and do great work and I have had no issues with the crown since they put it in nearly two years ago.

Some research says it is great for adults, other research says it is all about the money. Dental Doctors has changed a lot in the past few years. Maybe it is time to make a switch. Every time I go in, I'm greeted by genuine people who truly care... no joke. Dr. Sheth is excellent - patient, non aggressive, meticulous, and dare I add "fun" as well? How can a dentist appointment be FUN? From the fabulous teeth cleaning, exam, and actual work performed, - it's brilliant. I overheard Dr. Elliot talk to his patient too and he seems just as brilliant. This is the best place to go for any dental issue & I'm one appointment away from completing my treatment plan. I had a couple cavities that I just got filled 30 minutes ago, I had to run to Yelp to rave about it! Who raves about getting fillings? This was the most pleasant experience a patient could have during this procedure. Dr. Yang is professional, sweet, and his expertise was over-the-top evident. I didn't even feel the Novocaine injections. That takes some skill, because at previous dentists (across the street from them...) it felt like some sort of medieval stabbing and hammering at my teeth and hurt so bad. I didn't feel a THING with Dr. Yang and he drilled and filled two adjacent cavities way back in my mouth. His bedside manner is calming and his assistant was on top of everything and they had a nice rapport together. The place has a nostalgic family feel with state of the art modern tools and equipment. That's the best part about family practices. Couldn't recommend this place more!

So the tooth was pulled and a bone graft was put in its place. I had to wait 6 months before the implant could be installed. 6 months later I went in and was told I needed to have a special xray taken by a different dentist at a cost of $195. When the results of the xray were sent to Dr. Santiago, he told me he would have his receptionist call me the next day and set up an appointment for the implant. The next day the receptionist called and said that Dr. Santiago said I needed to call a certain dentist to have the implant finished. No explanation why even though he had already been paid for some of the work. He didn't have the courtesy to explain to me what the problem was and why he couldn't do it. I don't believe any doctor should treat a patient this way espcially when the cost of the procedure was so high. I would never recommend Dr. Santiago to a friend. EVER.

I would strongly recommend staying away from Alexander Dental…read more I recently went to Alexander Dental for a treatment plan that totaled approximately $5,000. I still have outstanding work that needs to be completed, including a cleaning and crown replacement, and now one of the teeth they worked on is causing severe pain. At my initial appointment, they collected payment and told me they could complete all of the planned work in a single visit. Although I was surprised, I agreed. After completing work on two teeth, they instructed me to take a one-hour break. The break wasn't long enough to go home, and I couldn't eat because of the dental work, so I waited in my car. When I returned, they numbed me again, checked my mouth, and then asked if I could reschedule the rest of the treatment. When I tried to reschedule, they attempted to push the appointment out another two weeks despite the fact that I was already experiencing significant pain. I insisted on being seen sooner and was able to get an appointment the following week. At that appointment, they still weren't able to complete all the fillings as planned. Only part of the work was finished, requiring me to return for a third visit and miss even more work. While I was frustrated, I tried to be understanding. Now I've received an additional invoice for more than $500. When I contacted the office to resolve the issue, I was told that I had said my "card didn't work" and that I would call back. That never happened. What I actually said was that I didn't have any more time to spend waiting in the office because I needed to get back to work, and that they should call me to explain why there was an outstanding balance after they had already collected payment upfront. The billing process was confusing from the beginning. If staff are attempting to collect payment, they should be able to explain account balances and charges instead of requiring patients to wait for a treatment coordinator. They should also ensure that treatment estimates accurately reflect the work being performed and schedule patients appropriately if they cannot complete the procedures as promised. I am not someone who complains without offering solutions. This office could significantly improve the patient experience by implementing a few basic policies and procedures: Confirm before treatment whether all scheduled procedures can realistically be completed during the appointment. Provide explanations whenever treatment plans, timelines, or costs change especially at check in. Train front-desk and checkout staff to explain balances and payment discrepancies before requesting additional payment rather than having to wait for the treatment coordinator post appointment. Establish a policy that patients experiencing pain receive priority scheduling when follow-up treatment is needed, specifically when the dentist reschedules. Conduct a final billing review before collecting large upfront payments to reduce unexpected charges later. After three appointments, missed work, ongoing dental issues, severe pain, and now unexpected additional charges, I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Patients deserve transparency, accurate scheduling, and clear communication regarding both treatment and billing.

Whatever you do, do not seek treatment at this office. My experience raised serious concerns…read moreregarding professionalism, communication, and patient care standards. I initially scheduled a consultation and was very clear about my longstanding dental anxiety, which has existed since I was 14 years old. During the consultation, staff reassured me that they could accommodate this concern and informed me they use a medication called Halcion (triazolam) to help reduce anxiety and make patients more comfortable during procedures. Based on those assurances, I agreed to move forward with treatment. I was then told I needed two teeth extracted by an oral surgeon before they could proceed with a deep periodontal cleaning. I completed that process, including paying approximately $400 for anesthesia at the oral surgeon's office in Jacksonville. After the extractions, I was instructed to return to their office to pick up the prescription needed for my upcoming deep cleaning appointment on the 29th. When I arrived, I waited in the office for approximately 40 minutes while staff appeared unsure of what was happening. I had been told it would be a quick visit, so my daughter remained waiting in the car. After an extended delay, I was finally told that the dentist did not feel comfortable prescribing Halcion because of medications I currently take--medications I have been on for approximately 15 years and had already disclosed during the initial consultation. Instead, I was told to contact my primary care physician and ask him to prescribe the medication for their dental procedure. In my opinion, this was inappropriate and should have been addressed before I underwent extractions, paid additional expenses, and rearranged my schedule multiple times. If there were prescribing concerns, those should have been discussed transparently from the beginning so I could have explored other treatment options. As a result, I am now delayed in receiving a medically necessary deep cleaning, while my dental condition continues to worsen. I have since contacted several other dental offices, and multiple providers advised they had never encountered this type of situation. I intend to file formal complaints with the appropriate dental licensing board and regulatory agencies. Patients deserve clear communication, ethical decision-making, and competent treatment planning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office to anyone seeking professional dental care.

They try to make you pay for services you don't need just to charge you extra…read more I always request a regular cleaning, but they insist on doing a deep one just so they can charge me $165, even though I have excellent insurance that covers two FREE cleanings a year. I'm so frustrated with this service!
