Roberto's is a hidden secret in the downtown Woodstock area. Located slightly off the beaten path, Roberto's boasts a beautifully clean atmosphere that evokes a sense of being somewhere far more coastal. The raw bar is front and center, and there are several great options for oysters. There is a social hour option for chef's choice oysters, I believe it was a dozen for $24. I would've loved to indulge, but my friends were not so inclined towards raw oysters. We enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp and the blue crab fritters as appetizers. Both had phenomenal flavor, but the portions left a bit to be desired. For my main course, I tried the low country boil as I always love to see an elevated take on a messy classic. The spices were a bit underwhelming for my liking, but everything was cooked very well. I tried some of my friend's redfish, and it was clearly the star of the show. There was a wonderful textural balance between the soft pillowiness of the fish and the crispy exterior. The downside for me was the service. We had a difficult time tracking down our server, and when we alerted another member of the staff that we needed something, there was no attempt to resolve the issue expeditiously. We had to wait another 10 minutes before flagging down our original server. We were dining close to the lunch/dinner shift, so I'm willing to give them the grace that it was a fluke and not a habit. I would love to give Roberto's another try someday, the menu has a great variety, and the ambiance is hard to compete with. read more

We went for an early dinner last week & they were not busy. I had some oysters to start, they were good and fresh. Thursdays are $5 martinis so that was fun. The service was super slow and like I said, it was not very busy & I only saw one person behind the oyster counter. It took a very long time for my husband's cup of soup to come out and then we split the roast seafood entrée, This entree was extremely disappointing. The clams were very overcooked as well as the shrimp that were in there and what was 'supposed to be' a piece of white fish was literally little minced/mushy pieces at the bottom of a very tasty red sauce. I pointed this out to our waiter. He left went to the kitchen, came back and said 'that's how the chef wanted it to be prepared''. Really ?! I find that extremely hard to believe, he said the chef had minced up the fish ! I'm a cook and you don't mince up a nice piece of fish; you just cook it lightly in the sauce so that it stays together. He didn't offer to replace our meal with something else or take it off the check, disappointing meal overall. This is a fairly expensive restaurant that we would like to frequent because we live close. I hope they get the kitchen or whatever is going on over there together. I truly dislike it when there's an excuse made for a poorly prepared meal because I know a good meal from a badly prepared and overcooked one, especially seafood. Have been wanting to try Roberto's for a while. Decided to try a lunch before going all the way with a dinner. We lived in Maryland for several years and always want to try a good crab cake! Roberto's has a very nice, bright and inviting interior. Plenty of tables outside but it was 92 degrees Saturday! Ordered the crab cake sandwich (3 of us got it, and one Shrimp Po' Boy). Also ordered the crawfish hush puppies with pepper jelly app. and they were delicious! The Po' Boy was loaded with shrimp and very good. The crab cake sandwich was good, plenty big enough, but could have used some lump crab to really give it that punch it needed to compete with a good 'Ol Maryland crab cake. What a great local gem in Woodstock!! Look no further for some fresh seafood and a great time. The restaurant itself has two bars inside, including a raw bar and it is FRESH! They have a happy hour oyster special during certain days as well which is awesome. They don't have an official kid menu but they do have options for kids as well as high chairs. The staff were all super friendly and very accommodating and the food was great! The pasta was also homemade pasta which is a nice touch ! You cannot go wrong here! read more

Roberto's always hits the spot. We took the family there for a post-Christmas dinner, and everyone loved their food. The octopus was probably everyone's favorite. We also tried their calamari, but I didn't get a photo of it. Our server (I forget his name) was the perfect balance of attentive, engaging & friendly without making us feel as though he was hovering and retracting from our table conversation. The floors were slightly slippery; that could have been my fault for choosing the shoes that I wore. The interior is bright and lively, and we even got a family photo that made it look like there was snow outside, which was perfect for this time of year. This is a good to spot for us and a place we bring our out if town business guests as well. The oyster bar is solid and the staff is helpful if you aren't familiar with oysters. The space is small, noisy and tight so be aware of that. It works and doesn't impact your experience but just an FYI. Outdoor seating is so nice! Good selection of alcohol. Scallops are wonderful. Love that Woodstock has an oyster bar with different selections each week so you can try from different regions/areas (if you have a favorite though don't get hooked because it could be gone). It gets a bit toasty inside because of the open concept but still a really cool place with good service and tasty food (heck, they even have a DELICIOUS burger on the menu u for non seafood eaters!) This place was amazing. My husband and I were looking for a local place to have dinner for date night. Roberto's did not disappoint. The bread was so delicious it was almost as good as the optimist. The kitchen's work was flawless, each dish arriving with precision and care. The Back of House team clearly knows their craft. However, Front of House was slightly less polished. While service was friendly and attentive, there were noticeable differences in the servers' level of training and etiquette. It wasn't disruptive, but the experience could be elevated with more cohesive service. Despite these minor hiccups, Roberto's Deluxe lived up to my high expectations. This is a restaurant that knows its strengths and leans into them with confidence and creativity. I have been to Roberto's three times now. The first was definitely a great experience. The food was invigorating and creative - delicious. The second time was not particularly memorable. However, the third time was last night. The food was heavy, ladened with oil or butter. We each had a different entree', tuna, redfish, and grouper. All three were served on a small plate with oil and butter, some were over cooked. Same with the side dish of potatoes. On a positive note, the service was good. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The drinks were good and we had a salad to start off the night and it was also very good. The ambiance is lively and bright. Lovely addition to Woodstock! We had a nice time sitting on the porch. Alex took great care of us, loved he cleared all the plates and keep the table clean. Water refilled too! We regularly dine at Woodstock's restaurants and were excited for the opening of a high-end seafood place. The menu prices suggest a 4 star rating, but the food never comes close to justifying the cost. While the presentation is attractive, the flavors are ordinary and, in the case of one fish entree, badly prepared. For a restaurant charging four-star prices, I expected far more quality and consistency. Unfortunately, this felt like a two-star meal with a four-star bill. Won't be returning. read more

This new spot in Woodstock is fantastic. Our server Liv recommended a bunch of items that helped us narrow down our choices. We ate so quickly that I didn't have a chance to take photos, but we got the blackberry spritzer and blood orange spritzer as drinks (super flavorful and refreshing) and the octopus as an appetizer. It is soooo flavorful but heads up, it has a kick. Our entire meal was the shrimp fettuccine, American red smaller, avocado green goddess salad, tuna tartar, double cheeseburger, Scallops, grilled cabbage, fingerling potatoes, and half a dozen oysters. My favorites were the scallops, tuna tartar, grilled cabbage and the shrimp fettuccine. We were too stuffed for dessert. There is valet for $5 or you can self park in the back of the building and it's a short walk to the restaurant from there. read more

Newly open, there are a few kinks to work out. Overall, it was very nice - for sure pricey but I would go back. Any issues were quickly addressed and rectified. All food was delicious and portion sizes small, but just the right amount. This is a sister company to Prime 120. The pricing reflect this. The calamari was very good. The oysters great, but $3 an oyster. My table had the burger, low country boil, red fish, and the scallops. Everything we ate was delicious and the drinks even better. We enjoyed a seasonal sangria. The birthday cake for my birthday was a wonderful touch. I was surprisingly way too full to order my own dessert! It was noisey and a little warm. I do not think the engineers accounted for the open kitchen and the heat that would produce. It was still comfortable. We sat in the back near the door to the patio, which allowed a fly or two in. I'd love to go back when the weather gets cooler. There was even a little bar area with two tvs. The bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking around, especially once construction of surrounding buildings is complete. The restaurant is behind the new Starbucks and before the Pelican Snowcone if coming from the depot area of Woodstock. There is a Kale Me Crazy being built and other cute shops. After looking at the menu on their website, I was excited to get the happy hour special for twelve Murder Point oysters. However, I couldn't and I was too embarrassed to simply walk out. This was troublesome since the regular price per oyster was the same and the entire raw bar menu fluctuates by $0.50 per oyster. I picked this place to celebrate my mom's birthday, who has passed away, because she loved seafood. I made reservations through OpenTable and requested an indoor table. We get there and no tables were available and we didn't want to sit outside so they sat at the bar area overlooking the soups and where they shuck oysters. Since the floor is tiled, the walls were mostly glass, and a concrete ceiling, with the music playing loudly, it was nearly impossible to have a conversation even sitting next to each other. Furthermore, I ordered the lobster roll. It was tasty however, for $42 it was less than the size of my hand with a huge mountain of fries. I had a lobster roll the size of my forearm in Virginia Beach a few months ago and it was half the price. Our waitress was exceptional, so kind and sweet.
