Just visited MFM and was very disappointed. I had the large fried shrimp with a baked potato. The shrimp tasted like fast food shrimp. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp or some kind of warmer but definitely didn't taste like it was recently fried, just warm and not very crunchy. My wife's catfish was mediocre, and also luke warm. The baked potato was good as served. My granddaughter had the kids fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. She said it was very good. The service was just barely average. The waitress only made the bare minimum number of trips to our table and seemed to be in a hurry during each visit. Why have I never dropped a review for one of Marietta's finest places for seafood, pasta, steak and dessert? Service is always top tier. The manager comes to check on every guest. The location has been updated (in 2023) so it's a Love Boat kind of theme. Blue walls, gold fixtures, there's an aquarium, a generous sized bar, booths and tables throughout. It's like an "under the sea" type of decor. A place you feel like you've gone somewhere but you never left Cobb County. I returned today after being away for some years. Why? Just cooking at home, eating at new neighborhood spots and the occasional food hall. But nothing beats the good ole MFM plates. Still get bread and salads with your meal. Hearty portions. Great taste. Today we kept it light - grilled filet of flounder, sweet potato and hush puppies. I had the Shrimp Savannah - Sautéed jumbo shrimp in a white wine lemon beurre blanc sauce with chopped scallions, diced tomatoes and bacon served with garlic mashed potatoes. The presentation, portion and flavor were amazing. I'm a big fan and will order this again. For dessert, the SF cheesecake was a great finale to our meal. We couldn't finish it so boxed it up for later. MFM is a local staple, it's where families celebrate and couples go after church. Service from William L was excellent Menu extensive. My son had the bacon wrapped shrimp and my wife's fries. He loved it Wife had clam strips. Very good, but not belly clams unfortunately. She had the above fries, corn fritter (I ate) and corn on cob which she said had bad taste so leftover I had whole steamed lobster - excellent taste but they should have cracked better. First I would like to say that I have been a customer of MFM ever since they opened. Over the years I have noticed they are always creating ways that make my dining experience even better than the last time I visited them and this last time was no exception!!! Everything was perfect: no wait to be seated even though there were a lot of customers there, our waiter was there just moments after we were seated, the ambiance was perfect with the new layout, and the food was OUTSTANDING I had the grilled Salmon platter, my friend had the broiled tilapia platter and both platters were enormous and the taste was exquisite! Went with a large party. Food came out quick (one star) and the waiter frequently checked on us (one star). Immediately after our food arrived, one person in our party complained that her catfish was soggy instead of flaky and tasted old. She traded it out for shrimp. I ordered the Blackjack Salmon. Before leaving, I immediately began feeling sick. I thought maybe I had been accidentally glutened, even though the waiter assured me everything I ate was gluten free. Made it home (barely) before getting sick. Reached out to a friend who had the same dish, and she too got sick. The specials looked very appetizing and we all had a hard time deciding. Needa came back and after answering some questions we were able to make selections. Our food came over in a timely fashion. Everything was delicious as always. Portions are super generous and food well seasoned and delicious! Our family recently visited for dinner. The food was okay, not the best seafood we've had, but not terrible either. It honestly looks better than it tastes. Very little seasoning and flavor. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and we appreciated her service. However, we won't be returning after learning that this establishment recently hosted a lecture titled "Islam and the Threat to America." As a Muslim American and a paying customer, it's deeply disappointing and hurtful to see a business we've supported choose to give a platform to such divisive and discriminatory messaging. We believe restaurants should be places that welcome everyone in the community with respect. First off it's a good little drive for us to get here for a birthday lunch. But let me tell yall parking was easy but during busier times I could see an issue with that. The Marietta Fish Market came highly recommended by a colleague so I was really excited to take my boyfriend here for his birthday. Unfortunately, the experience ended up being pretty disappointing. To start with the positives: the drinks were good, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive. No complaints there. That said, the food was a letdown. The bread that came out was very clearly preheated day-old bread. The outside was extremely hot to the touch, but the inside was mushy, which is exactly what happens when old bread is microwaved. We asked for a second basket and it came out the exact same way. Both of our entrées were underwhelming, to the point that neither of us finished our meals, which is rare for us, especially if the food is good. I had been looking forward to dessert (the cake), but after being disappointed by the meal, we decided to leave and go somewhere else instead. Back to the great staff, they did bring out a slice of cheesecake and sang happy birthday which was a thoughtful gesture. The cheesecake was good. I'm not sure if this was just an off night. I felt like as soon as I sat down my server judged me and then continue to like ignore me. It was a party of 2 but I was sat as a single first. T always substituted collards for their soggy corn. Now they charge you. Ellen's dish -- some kind of white fish with shrimp -- looked good. It wasn't. Not nearly as picky as me, she said it was saturated with butter, and tasteless. The only one pleased with his meal was Jack. We decided to give this place a try after a suggestion from a friend. I'm very happy we did!! There was a wait of about 30 minutes on a Saturday evening for a party of 9, but it was definitely worth the wait. The service was superb with our server staying on top of drinks along with making wonderful food suggestions after some questions. The large salt water fish tank was really neat to see while we waited along with gazing over the cakes that greet you to your left when you walk in. The restaurant is casual with being dressed in shorts and a T-shirt up to slacks and a collared shirt. The food was top notch and I promise you won't leave hungry! We go here all the time and last nights dinner was disappointing. We ordered the spinach dip and had to send it back bc it was so thick we couldn't even use the chips to dip it in. When it came back the second time it was the same. We then had to wait a long time for dinner and when it finally came the fish was so dry it was hard to eat. The risotto was inedible. It was lumpy and dry and not creamy. Also the floors were re-done with the remodel and they don't know how to clean them properly. You slip and slide all over the restaurant. The restaurant was not full on a Saturday night and probably because there has been a serious decline in the food quality. We will not be returning unless we hear that management has taken serious steps to improve food quality and clean the floors properly. read more

Run-down, while masquerading as eclectic. 2. Waiter brought my drink is a badly chipped glass... not a little chip, but a big 1/2" chunk that was obvious. Waiter apologized, but its simple details like this that cause lawsuits, or non-return customers. 3. Artichoke dip was room temperature and stiff. You couldn't dip into it. Wanted to complain but just put it on end of table and waiter didn't have the common-sense to ask if there was a problem. 4. Food portions smaller, while costs risen. After seeing the upgrades in the interior at the Cherokee Chop House, a few weeks ago, the Marietta Restaurant Group certainly need to apply that same type of upgrade to the Marietta Fish Market - it just seems old and tired. F O O D seafood nachos: baby shrimp, scallops, crab meat, diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, jalapenos fried calamari, served w marinara sauce seafood bisque, crab, cup seafood bisque, bowl clam chowder bowl x2 fisherman's platter shrimp fettuccine alfredo broiled stuffed shrimp everything tasted amazing. the portions, including the appetizers are massive- larger than your average American entree size. noodles cooked al dente. flavor balanced well. seafood is decently fresh. would highly recommend to share. the cup is 1/3 size smaller than the bowl for the clam chowder. but the cup is like 1/100th size smaller than the bowl for the bisque HAHAHA. so for the bisque, definitely just get the bowl. the bisque in bowl form comes with or without lasagne in it too if you'd prefer. dessert portions are also massive and the cheesecake flavor is balanced well. perfect bread to filling ratio. the filling isn't too sweet either. oreo cheesecake chocolate turtle cheesecake A T M O S P H E R E casual to cocktail. really cool water falls and huge water tank. great for couples to large groups and parties. party potion sized food. This was my first time. The decor was lovely and classy. We had a large group. Our server was very efficient and pleasant. We came for the Early Bird dinner. Well..I wanted to try Marietta Fish Market..begged my husband to take me there for a late Mother's Day Dinner. Food was just okay..but our waiter horrible. We like to dine slowly with glasses of wine, appetizers and then dinner. We both ordered appetizers just okay for my appetizer $28.99..his 21.99...well the wine pour is horrible about a 4 ounce pour.After 2 glasses we decided that a bottle would be way cheaper than by glass because at 4 ounces a pour (if that) they were getting 7 glasses out of one bottle. We'll anyway we asked the waiter to get us a bottle instead of by the glass and he said WHAT..like we were crazy then when he understood we wanted a bottle of wine he said okay ( LIKE we had to get his permission) then he plopped the wine on the table and just walked away. No chilling of wine basically room temperature...no opening of wine...no pouring of wine..so I preceded to screw off top and pour our own wine. Then when we ordered the waiter under his breath ..About time.. and took our order..like we were deaf. I was so appalled I was speechless. $175 bill with service that was beyond any good service with okay food. And here's the real topper we are both in the service industry, my husband is a server at Seed. He was dumbfounded at the lack of pride our server took in his service. And I did ask another waiter while I couldn't find mine what the pour count was for wine and he said I don't know but I'll ask..we'll he never came back and said anything..WTF...are all the waiters there horrible...Never Again.. read more

DON'T ORDER THE SCALLOPS!!! I had a taste for some fresh scallops, and thought of Marietta Fish Market, because I've never had a bad meal from them. I ordered the Large Fried Scallop Plate. I should've come home and defrosted the frozen pack I had already. I assumed MFM had fresh ones, but after my first bite, I knew they had been frozen. I got about 13 scallops and 15 hush puppies. I know that they are an expensive protein, and I was prepared and did pay the $30+ for the large plate. I was just disappointed with the quality. I'll go back to MFM in the future. The Halibut and jumbo shrimp was awesome and fresh. They brought this hot bread. Even the knife was hot. It was soft and buttery. The seafood bisque was creamy with bits of seafood. The baked potato was baked and fluffy potato not lumpy. My highlight was a smoking old fashion with the amarena cherries and a smokiness. The service was fast and attentive.
