When its 11pm or 12am or later and you are hungry or (lets be honest) probably tipsy, you need that burrito to chow down in order to sleep. Thats not me, but I know a few people. Anyhow, this always seems to be that place that has a line into the street come 1am or 2am in the morning, or like tonight 11pm and a line. They have rounded out the pricing of their items, from breakfast burritos offered all day long to carne asada ir California burritos to combination plates, torts, tacos and rolled tacos... this place has what you might like and for a decent price and quantity, considering. This is by far my favorite place but between Cotijas and here, we end up here 5 out 5 times. The food quality is consistent and the fact that breakfast is offered all day is a huge plus when you are craving and egg, bean, cheese and bacon burrito during the day. They have 3 types of salsas available to give your food that extra kick. Staff is always friendly and drive thru always busy, but it does go quicker than starbucks drive thru for the most part. They have a sign that a 3% surcharge for credir cards, so plan accordingly.

3am taco shop run. Carne asada torta, 5 rolled tacos, Carne asada fries. Quality did not decline even in the latest of night.

Terrible! Guy in drive thru rude & incompetent! Food was horrible! Asada chips with little asada & cheese was fresh and cold! No wonder this place has bad reviews!

the california burrito is pretty good but their carne asada fries are very dry & the cheese is not melted. there used to be an employee there who was very nice , idk if she quit but now whenever i go the employees have an attitude for no reason. their mic outside sucks which is part of the issue since you can barely understand what they're saying because of static and cutting out .

What can I say but this is down right comfort food, especially at 11:30pm at night. Hahaha... I don't think you can go wrong. I can say my go to is always a set of rolled tacos with guacamole and sour cream. Of course the cheese is a must too. The service was great and the ambiance was quiet. Although we were pick up to go. So I can't say how it would have been if we stayed. Enjoy

If I could give them no stars I would I came to this location with my wife and the service wasn't good at all and when we went to order the lady was very rude and didn't let me finish ordering so when I got to the window asked for a Mexican Coke. They only had canned Pepsi. My wife's taco shell was very hard and the enchilada cheese wasn't even melted and tasted like it wasn't even cooked very disappointed in this place in the service I would not recommend this to anybody do better because it's pretty sad that even my dog doesn't even wanna eat the food

Saddest fries I've ever had. I only came here because it was a drive thru and I have hella kids & didn't want to get everyone out. This is probably cool if you're from out of town or think mayo is spicy. Outside of that, it's trash. I won't be back. Dry afffff. Had to add sour cream when I got home. Stingy with the salsa. They gave me one green one red. Got a stank look when I asked for 3 more red. (Still not enough) salsa was watery AF.

Carne asada Quesadilla - doesn't come with sour cream like the photo on the menu. This is my honest review. The cool is lazy.

I have been to this location a few times I've ordered the roll tacos a few times and they've always been good. I have also ordered a Carne Asada quesadilla. The first time I didn't question it and today I drove to the drive-through and I requested Carne quesadilla and I asked what does it come with the picture in the drive-through clearly shows that the Carne Asada quesadilla comes with guacamole, pico and sour cream the lady at the window told me it doesn't come with sour cream like the picture. Is it OK? No that's fine. I just wanted to know if it came like the picture if I got the wrong thing last time, maybe they forgot the sour cream if it came with it at all so i said OK yeah I wanna get one of those. I received my food and not only is my quesadilla not cut. I have never received a quesadilla that was not cut, and it was rolled up like a burrito. when I pulled up I heard the cook in the background, through the back door, just cracking up a storm like he wasn't paying attention to his job. The food here is really good. The salsa is really good. The lady at the front window is super nice and pretty. She's an older lady, but for some reason receiving a quesadilla that's not cut really bothered me especially that I plan to eat in the car during my lunch break is crazy.

    Fingernail

I found a fingernail and an avocado peel in my food. I went back for a full refund for all the food I purchased for my family. The young girl operating the cash register/window was instantly combative refusing to refund the full amount because I didn't bring everything back. I was a regular customer who would come here 2-3 times a month, and now I will never be back.

I don't know why I keep coming back here, knowing this place never improves. I decided to give them one more chance because it was New Year's, so I came in to grab some rolled tacos. Honestly, it's not hard to improve simple things, like using wax paper on trays or even just getting new trays. The fact that they still serve food on foam is beyond disappointing it literally melts on to your roll tacos --do you guys even care about your customers' health? This is ridiculous . This will be my last review of Roberto's close this place down no way people should eat here .

I ordered the carne asada chips, and honestly, I was disappointed... especially for the price. The portion looked okay at first, but once I started eating, I realized there was barely any meat on them. Most of it was just chips with a little cheese, and guacamole, here and there. For how much they cost, I expected more carne asada. The chips themselves were fine, but the toppings were uneven and sparse. Definitely not worth the price -- I won't be back! Oh and the sour cream you see on it was from my own home!

I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)
