The table was filled with breakfast favorites. We ordered hotcakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and huevos rancheros. A couple of morning cocktails also made an appearance, including Cottonwood's version of a Bloody Mary and a rum-infused mocha. The huevos rancheros had a bit more kick than expected, but it worked. Our server was fun and easy to chat with, which added to the relaxed feel of the morning. Nobody rushed us, and breakfast with friends is one of those things that shouldn't be rushed. Will we be back? Probably. Cottonwood Cafe feels like a place where locals and visitors can both feel at home, and it was a nice way to wrap up another great trip to Sisters. After we sat down and started looking over the menu, our very friendly server came to take our order. Before she did, she apologized and told us she had some bad news--they were out of a few items. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a few things; it was almost the entire menu. They were out of bread, buns, and lettuce, along with several sandwiches, including the Reuben. She even asked if we wanted to stay given how many items were unavailable. I had been looking forward to their amazing smash burger, but since they were out of buns, that wasn't an option. Instead, I ordered a parfait bowl with a side of potatoes, and my mother ordered the buttermilk pancakes. This situation is unfortunate not only for the customers, but also for the servers, who are left trying to provide good service despite having so many menu items unavailable. Sadly, this experience was disappointing enough that we won't be returning.

We did not know and still don't know if this was private property, if it was labeled as such, etc. we thought it was a food truck pod situation with open seating. We sat down, opened our food and both the female and male owners came out. The female had an attitude as she told us that we could not sit at their tables. The male followed quickly with "how dare you guys bring our competitors food and sit at our tables. We pay a lot of money for this spot!" My sister responded with "oh sorry! We had no idea this wasn't a public place." We started packing up our food and kids as the two others stood nearby and watched us. I said "we are not from here, I feel like you guys could have gone about that a lot nicer." The female laughed and the male immediately started yelling and cussing at us. He told us to "get the fuck out and go back to your own state." My husband and brother-in-law both told them we were leaving and to have a great day. We were cussed and yelled at more as we all walked away, until we were out of eyesight. This was a terrible interaction that left all of us anxious, angry, and honestly really disturbed. Someone in the group said "there are kids, no need to cuss, we are leaving" and the male said "I don't give a fuck." There is no world where a business owner, let alone a small business owner should treat people this way. Even if the food is good, I would never go back after witnessing this happen to a family or seeing this type of review, so here I am to warn others. The disrespect and disgusting demeanor from these two managers, owners, employees, whoever they were, is not worth any food. Tacos & Mas was DELICIOUS! Don't let the gas station vibe scare you away. (:

I chose an unfrosted cinnamon roll, and my husband chose a chocolate glazed donut. The cinnamon roll was soft and with just the right amount of sweetness. I would have liked a small amount of frosting drizzle but they only had the other option of a heavily frosted cream cheese frosting. It still was so good! My husband's donut was very good, he said. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The pastrami was house-smoked, and it was so tender. For $15, we received your choice of chips and a cookie as well. Very good deal. Susan, who took our order, was very patient with us and explained the menu and seating next door in the mercantile that was purchased in July of 2025. We will definitely be back to try other offerings as I expect they are as great.

I took my wife there for lunch May 5 ,2022. This was my wifes birthday lunch. We asked for a menu and was told we had to download it to our phone. The young man who was our waiter downloaded it for me. My wife and I tried to share the menu back and forth and when he came to ask us what we wanted, my wife politely asked for a menu. He said they did not have any. My wife pointed to surrounding tables with other diners who came in after us who had menus. He told us in a not nice tone that technology was to use the menus. My wife asked again to silence. Then I asked for the check for our sodas and we would pay and then go. He replied Just Leave.......... NASTY Attitude and Customer Service!!!!! We walked down to Sisters Saloon and were warmly greeted and handed menus. What a nice birthday lunch. Excellent food and our waitress Chelley was a pure joy! We tipped thirty dollars on a forty dollar meal. Don't eat a Ski Inn Taphouse and Hotel unless you want to be disrespected. read more

Ski Inn Tap House - Incredible Food and Flavors! We had an amazing meal at Ski Inn Tap House. The brisket was out of this world--tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. Truly some of the best brisket I've ever had. We also tried the Chicken Thai Soup, and it was phenomenal. Fresh, vibrant, perfectly seasoned, and honestly one of the best in the region. The flavors were so balanced and comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and quick. Ski Inn Tap House is definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to. The fish had some full pieces and others not so much. The burgers were good and again fries were great. We don't know what it was but we all had upset and unsettled stomachs and this restaurant is the one place we all ate at in common. Probably wouldn't return and only family friendly before 9:00pm. If you're there for a tournament just keep this in mind! Service was rushed considering we had a minor with us at 8:45pm even if we were ordering takeout.

The house made chips were crispy. On the downside, the Loaded Nachos did not live up to expectations because they were far from loaded and the cheese was cold. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. We passed on dessert and left feeling a little underwhelmed given the prices and the setting. Would we come back? Probably not.
