I had a very disappointing experience at this optometry office and feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision. I scheduled and paid for a contact lens exam, expecting the exam to be performed before being fitted for contact lenses. Instead, I was immediately taken into a room and given trial contact lenses based solely on my eyeglasses prescription. When I asked whether an exam would be performed first, I was told it was not necessary because my glasses prescription would be used. After trying approximately five different pairs of contacts, I repeatedly explained that I still could not see clearly. I was eventually sent home with a pair and told that my eyes would "adjust" throughout the day. While speaking with the front desk, I politely asked questions about the contact lens process because my previous experiences at other offices had always included an exam before fitting contacts. The owner overheard the conversation and came out appearing visibly upset. She then offered to perform the exam, saying, "We have time now," but only after hearing me question the process. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and no longer confident in the care I was receiving. As a paying customer, I believe I have every right to ask questions and understand the services I am receiving. No patient should feel intimidated for seeking clarification about their care. After leaving, my eyes became extremely itchy and very red. When I checked one of the contact lens samples I had been given, I discovered it had expired in January 2025--approximately 17 months ago. I contacted the office to request a refund and asked that my vision insurance not be billed. Unfortunately, I later learned that the person involved was the owner, so there was no higher management to address my concerns. The entire experience left me upset and in tears. I cannot recommend this office based on my experience and would encourage others to ask questions and carefully review any contact lenses they are given before wearing them. read more

Robertson Optometry's awesome! I went to Dr. Kummer for 37 years before he retired, but Dr. Yang's a great optometrist as well! She always makes sure my prescription for contact lenses and glasses is 100% correct through a very thorough eye exam, and everyone in the office is very nice, and very professional, and always makes me feel very comfortable, and at ease when I'm there. I actually drive all the way from Burbank to have my exams, and get my contacts glasses here. It's well worth it! I highly recommend this place! read more

I needed an eye exam fairly quickly and found a Groupon for Robertson Optometry. They have a website where you can make the appointment yourself, which was great. There are metered parking spots in front of the business, but they also have free parking in the back. I was able to come in on a Saturday, which is usually helpful for SO many people. Dr. Yang was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a simple visit that felt slightlyy rushed, but overall, I got the Rx I needed and was able to check on my overall eye health, which was great. There are plenty of standard sized frames to choose from, but nothing much in the sense of wide frames or large array of more funky frame designs. That's fine! They don't push you to buy anything at all and that's a great feeling. You can get your Rx and shop for the right frames elsewhere, if needed. They might just have what YOU'RE looking for. read more

This place is a nightmare. I got the craziest prescription I've ever seen. I said this can't be right. Woman says yes, it is. I get 2 pairs of glasses. They remade one pair 3 times. The other 2. I went to an ophthalmologist. Yes, prescription is crazy. Gave me an accurate one. Took it into Robertson. Went back and picked up the glasses. Told them they were fine and left. They are not fine. They are horribly made progressives. I pretty much see double close up and can't read much of anything in distance. If I bend my head down very far and push my glasses halfway down my nose, I have about 1/10 of an inch range for distance at the very top of my glasses. Horrible. I'd rather lose my money than have them make them again. It took a month to get poorly made glasses. Never again. read more

I wouldn't be shopping at my appointment, I finally had enough, they did not realize I was at my appointment & kept me waiting, they started the eye exam late & was not doing a real eye check & said the Dr would be with me & suddenly went home ill... brisk, efficient. i was in and out in less than 30 minutes with a full eye exam (although I forewent dilation) and having selected a new pair of glasses. I paid a total of ten bucks exactly: they accepted vsp for exam, lenses, frame, and my ten bucks were because i wanted a particular, green frame. If I'd wanted, i could have taken any old frame and paid nothing myself. The Doctor and staff know exactly what they are doing and they get it done FAST. you will be done, you will be GONE before you can even start daydreaming about the Sushi101 next door. I would like to have had a drink of water but there is no water cooler here. I rode a bike here and locked it to a parking meter by Sushi101. I don't recommend trying to park a car on Robertson. Try the nearest side street, Chalmers, north of Olympic on this block. It's a res hood with no parking restrictions after 10am. before 10, there are mon and tues restrictions only. read more

I would avoid. I went in to get a new eyeglasses prescription. Most of the work was done by the receptionist using one of the machines -- she didn't seem that experienced. The optometrist (Dr. Yang) checked the prescription after -- she rushed through the entire exam, taking little time to properly disinfect items and rushing me through the final check of the prescription. I got the distinct impression that Dr. Yang doesn't like her job and would rather spend as little time as possible doing it. I checked the eyeglass frames on the way out and they seem fairly overpriced -- I wouldn't waste your time on that either. This is Los Angeles -- spend a few minutes looking around and you can find much better. read more

I am writing this review based on the experience my mom had at Robertson Optometry. My moms suffered from MGD for over 10 years and never had relief until she went to Dr. yangs for a treatment. After Dr. yang provided treatment for her dry eyes, she felt an immediate relief! After the treatment, my mom also noticed decrease in the wrinkles around her eye too.
