The assistant allowed me to book as a natural pixie but the actual stylist was unaware and wasn't excited to style natural hair. I'm a new client never met these folks so not sure their communication style to each other. I arrived 10-12 mins before my appt to be professional. She put a cape on me 30 mins in but didn't START me until 57 mins after my start time! 4 women left out the suite before I was even consulted for the wash, and it was still a lady in front of me. Its very clear she overbooks her schedule and has not much consideration for others time. This was on a Saturday and I'm aware shops are busiest on Saturdays but again 5 people,in front me, I'm a new client so I have no loyalty or understanding, lack of communication to the assistant, and her disposition of me having natural hair made this experience not so good for me.

Got a little lost but found my way. They opened 5 minutes after 10, which I was okay with being that I was in no rush. The lady got me started by removing the old shellac. I asked if she had time to do a pedicure since the groupon was only for a manicure with shellac. She said yes, woo hoo!! While the foil was on my fingers she started on my toes. She was great and the color came out great! After she finished with my toes she did my shellac. I was amazed by all the colors they had!! I chose the color "Molly" which I fell in love with the minute I saw it!! I was going to do something more fall like but this color got my attention. She pushes back the cuticles and cuts any hang nails. She was amazing! I'm willing to drive 30 minutes away for her services!! I even tipped her extra because I enjoyed my experience!!

The stylist, Tatiana was extremely nice and professional and I am sad to post this but the balayage to me was basically just bleach slathered all over most of my head and the parts where it was hand painted there's clearly banding/blotchiness. I also mentioned i wanted to gradually go to a blonde color, which i guess there was a misunderstanding because my hair is now a very dark brassy blonde color, i believe she misunderstood what i was wanting. My hair was too dark of orange for the toner to really do much. She should have known that and colored over it atleast if it was going to be that color. I told the hairstylist i was a bit disappointed about the banding and she didn't really say much, she did ask if i wanted her to bleach it again;which i declined because it was already processed alot more than i wanted. Some parts of my hair did have old dye in it so it's normal for some darker parts but had bleach not been so strong and a dye used over it i think the color issue would have been fixed. Updating to add: I contacted the owner and she suggested I ask Groupon for a refund or I receive 40% of the groupon price back if i'm not willing to have another stylist at the salon fix my hair. I suggested the owner contact groupon to refund me the full amount; of course she declined. Before accepting the offer of having the other stylist do my hair (since I was extremely weary) I dug a little deeper into reviews on Groupon and found other's complaining of a bad cut or color by the stylist she raved about having good reviews. Also, alot of the good reviews were for the nail appointments! That seems like she was intentionally trying to mislead me into believing all these reviews were for hair. Besides that point color correction is not something any stylist can do it takes expertise and a master colorist. I really didn't trust walking into that salon again. It's reasonable to request my money back when my hair is going to need an expert to correct the color and i'll be out ATLEAST 300$. I'm not even sure why I paid in the first place, I guess I was just in shock and didn't feel like disputing being charged. I drove 1 1/2 hours each way only to walk out with hair I could've done better myself and not even good customer service. Moral of the story: Look into the reviews on all sites beforehand and maybe question why there are so few reviews for that salon.

She absolutely loved the extensions and so do I. The consultation was short and sweet. She agreed to install my sew-in a few days later... The day of the appointment we started behind schedule, because I was late due to work. I called LaShunta twenty minutes beforehand to let her know and she was very understanding. I arrived at the salon around 2:20PM and didn't leave until 8:46PM. LaShunta washed, blow dried, trimmed, and braided my hair, before installing the extensions. Even though I was tired from the work day, I enjoyed our conversation and the overall look of my hairstyle.

I found Maggie on Instagram and after seeing her work decided to take the risk. I went in for a silk press and LOVED IT! She is a bit heavy handed burning me a few places but honey I tell you I sat through it because the silk press lasted so long and my hair reverted right back without damage. I referred a ton of clients to her along with my mother. My mom went in and by the time she came out to the car to call me on FaceTime it poof right back up. I screen shot it and sent the photo to Maggie. She never responded to the photo. I went in once again for a silk press and was surprised she brought up the photo that I sent of my mom EVEN THOUGH she never responded. Fast forward ... I trust her, im ready for my keratin treatment. I go into the shop and she's extremely over booked. The keratin was placed on my head as she did other clients. Her lovely assistant then blow dries my hair then sits me to the side while I wait for the press. I should've noticed something wasn't right because normally my hair is bone straight after the blow dry. She finishes me up and I'm in love as usual. The next day I go out in the town for my birthday and my hair was extremely poofy, more than normal. The next day it's as hard as hay! I messaged her and she said I could add oil to put moisturize back into it and wrap it. I did, it was soft but when I woke up in the am to wear it out it's hard as hay again and literally falling out when I run my fingers through it. I sent pictures and she asked me to come in for a deep conditioner. After the treatment my hair was soft BUT as it dries before your eyes I tell her (as I run my fingers though my hair) how it isn't normal. She becomes defensive which makes me make a confused face (I'm guessing) because she says, " I'm sorry I'm not being defensive but I don't know what to tell you". I'm literally holding my breath to hold in my tears. I realized a few things at that moment. 1. I should've noticed the signs 2. Not all stylist care about natural healthy hair 3. Not everyone accepts feedback 4. Never get a keratin again I sent her more photos of the handfuls of hair that I had and asked for a refund. She never responded as usual then blocks me on her social media profile. My bank was kind enough to refund me so I'm partially feeling better. My hair was my crown now I'm waiting to see if my hair will even manage to become what it was before the keratin treatment. Update: my hair was put in a protective style for three weeks to give it a break. Hair was falling out as i took my braids out. I'll attach a picture Update 8/20: my hair is continuing to fall out. I had to cut it completely off for the shedding to stop.

Her personality is one of a kind and her blow outs are unmatched, period! Visiting her salon is always a relaxing experience and I always look forward to attending my appointments. Between the empowering girl talks and laughs, she makes it pretty hard for anyone else to top her salon experience. I used to travel over a hour to my appointments until she moved to her current location which is a lot closer to me. In that time, I tried ONE other stylist because she was conveniently closer and my hair was puffy in 3 days. Talk about pissed! I vowed from that time to never go anywhere else. You get what you pay for plus more with Marg. I have thick natural hair and my hair stays flawlessly straight until it gets product build up (my fault) and loses body. I don't like flat hair so I wash it, however, it lasts about 2 weeks...IN HOUSTON HEAT! She uses a steaming method that hydrates your hair and prevents damage. I'm not sure if it's my straightening technique or if her blow outs have lasting affects cause my hair always comes out flawlessly even after a couple of washes. That's what you call quality!
