He not only removed my wisdom teeth with minimal pain, but also helped properly address my root canal issues and got everything back on track. He explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. For the first time, I genuinely don't feel afraid of going to the dentist anymore. The referral was written in 2019 when I wanted to get braces but I chickened out. Unfortunately, cavities started developing on all the wisdom teeth over the last two years to the point where I noticed my breath did not feel clean even after brushing, flossing and mouth rinse. I decided to come in for a consult to get my questions answered. Dr. Jiries Mogannam provided my consult. He answered all my questions and gave me my options. He explained to me that the wisdom tooth can give me more issues down the line even if I can patch up all the cavities now. His main concern was the oral hygiene of my mouth and to protect the nearby molars from decay that could be spread from the wisdom teeth. He was not pushy, I left informed and empowered to take the next step. Plus, I still wanted braces so it makes sense to get the surgery. The surgery was quick and painless because I was out! I was filled with anxieties the day before and even while sitting in the chair but I knew it needed to be done. I was in and out in a hour. The recovery was painful and that was expected. I followed all the instructions given in terms of oral care and food choices. At check out the office assistant told me I needed to book a 4 appointment round of scaling and root planing--which was not discussed during my visit other than the doctor saying "you could develop gum disease" not that there were any signs of it at the time. I booked the appointments but it didn't feel right. Why do invasive procedures on healthy gums? I canceled the appointments and didn't go back. 10 years later I'm extremely happy because I have no gum disease and haven't had as much as a cavity since that appointment. Sometimes invasive dental work can cause much more harm than good if not needed. And why be so condescending about a perfectly healthy mouth? None of it makes sense. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this practice unless they have made major changes.
