In the past, like many humans, I had a big dentist phobia. It took walking laps around the office, and prescription medication in order for me to even get my teeth cleaned. Thus when I moved, I knew it was time for me to suck it up, be an adult, and get a new dentist; and that's how I found Dr S. The first redeeming factor was the location. Super close to my work, and just off the freeway on the Airport blvd, near the Airport Club Gym. They are located next to relaxing lake, in a beautifully appointed medical building that looks nothing like a dental facility, and more like a house. Ambiance is relaxing, calm, and friendly, and offset any of my beginning nerves from walking in. Second redeeming factor was Bodie. I LOVE dogs. The office has a sweet, incredibly adorable collie/sheltie owned by the doctor, and this dog is so snuggly and cute, he makes pet therapy take on a new meaning. Somehow just his presence in the office softened my stress, and relaxed me. Doctor S is professional, accommodating, and easy to talk to. He made my initial visit much more palatable than I had anticipated, and he really heard me about my teeth, my concerns, and my questions. The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth the following day was equally as positive. She was understanding about my dental hazards, tooth sensitivity, and was thorough in my cleaning. I ended up with the goodie bag of toothpaste, brushes and floss, but all tailored specifically to my dental needs. I don't think anything can ever truly make going to the dentist fun and easy, but Dr S and his team are well on the way for making it closer to a reality. I'm thrilled that Dr S exists, and is one more doctor that is bridging the gap between the world's negative opinion of dentists, and the possibility of being thankfully wrong. read more

Dr. Wong is absolutely amazing. We just recently switched to him from another local dentist. I would and have recommended him to anyone and everyone. He is gentle and explains everything he is doing. If you see any negative reviews about Dr. Wong, don't believe them. I saw Dr. Sellman for around ten years and now that Dr. Wong owns the practice, he is my dentist. I see Dr. Wong twice per year (now that I live in Vacaville I commute the 75 minutes, that's how much I like his care) for regular cleanings and X-rays, when needed, and every time its a great experience. The last few times I went I was complaining about sensitivity and pain in a few areas. Dr. W had an idea about using some kind of compound which he painted on my gum is those two areas and even after 5 months it is working well. At my next appointment im going to have him use it again for preventive maintenance since he said it's only designed to last a few months. I very highly recommend Dr. David Wong to anyone in Sonoma County or beyond who is looking for a great dentist. read more

I'm not going to describe my horrible experience with Dr. Wong. If you have a dental emergency don't expect a call back. For all the years he's been practicing I can't believe all his errors he had with me. I've had so much pain & he made so many errors & never fixed the problem. I went to another dentist because after giving him over 5 try's to fix the problem I was to afraid to go back. I had to file a grievance with my insurance & won because they admitted his treatment was done incorrectly. Now I've been waiting for him to pay my portion of the costs. Which he hasn't & I had to file another grievance! I would recommend you stay away & find another dentist who can do the job right. The only person who does their job right is Jenna the coordinator there. She's Awesome! read more

By far the best in the area! I have been to 4 other dental offices in the Santa Rosa area which had their + and - 's but this office, the staff and Dr. Wong are at the top. First very professional adhering to "standard precautions", staff kind, caring and courteous. The actual work: restorative filings to "well stained, coffee, tea, etc" front teeth; beautiful crown for a fractured tooth; night guard for grinding (really incredible) good fit, Dr. Wong took great care on exactly fitting the device,polishing etc. He is a real craftsman when it comes to this work, diligent, gentle, precise. Mary Kay the hygienist, when you leave, you know your teeth have been cleaned. Other experiences I didn't feel that way. This father -son-son dentistry practice is the epitome of family values. They are really the nicest bunch of humble, nice, down-to earth, funny, non-condescending dentists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting (they do not chastise me for not flossing enough, grinding my teeth, or the infrequency of my regular check-ups). In fact, they are more humble than my childhood and family dentist in my Minnesota home town. I find visiting their office very comforting as they are clearly not product pushers or more focused on marketing their practice then caring for the patient. Both Kenneth and David Wong (brothers) are stellar dentists and both teach at local dentist schools. David is a BIG talker, but he is so open and good at telling stories that I look forward to my visits (the choices his children make and SF crime being the focal point of our conversations). I've seen Kenneth Wong once and David now twice for general cleaning and x-rays but have had no major work so I cannot comment beyond generalities but highly recommend both! read more

Dave Wong is the nicest, least judgmental dentist ever. No hand-slapping or condescending talk about failing to floss 19 times a day. My friend also went to Dave and said he's the first dentist that didn't harp on him for smoking. Dave is a bit of a talker, making what would be a 15 minute appointment closer to 30 minutes... but he's so gentle and friendly, it doesn't even matter. At least he tells good stories, so you forget that you have your mouth gaping open in front of a stranger. Since finding Dave, never once have I dreaded my biannual dentist visit! read more

I choose Dr. Wong based on his yelp reviews and I couldn't have been happier. Dr. Wong is a very honest and nice guy. He doesn't judge you for how often you have gone in the dentist in the past - he's just happy you came to his office! I was nervous when I went to his office (the last time I had went was a few years before and I was ripped off by the dentist - said they took my insurance and then didn't take it in the end costing me a lot of $$). I have to say I was shocked that everything that was done he made sure was covered by my insurance so I didn't incurr any other charges. He's also very meticulous with cleanings - he does them all himself and teaches at the dental school (teaches dental hygenists how to clean teeth). Needless to say, my toes were curled around the edge of the chair but a few days later my teeth and gums were a lot happier. I also referred my boyfriend to him and he loved him as well. He had a few fillings that he was quickly able to fill without causing any pain. In short, I'm referring several other friends to him as well and would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist in San Francisco :-) read more

I would not normally leave a review about a dentist, but for those of you that are anxious dentist goers, I would really recommend this office. I just had the most relaxing teeth cleaning ever. Please don't let 1 sour review dissuade you from him. I've been a loyal patient of Dr. Wong's for 30 years. I followed him from SF, to Santa Rosa because he is everything you want in a dentist. He can do everything from cleanings, fillings to semi-cosmetic and basic-endo. He always has top notch staffing, his hygienist Andrea is so skilled, knowledgeable, attentive. The office manager/billing specialist Jenifer is so dedicated, organized and committed to the office & patients. Recently with the PG&E forced outages, the office had no choice but to close and cancel appointments for 2 days. Jenifer called me the night before the known outage in their office area, also when I was to have a timely appointment. To inform me of the outage the next day, the office closure since there'll be no power and to reschedule me for the immediate next week first availability. That's what I call responsibility, concern, sense of urgency and customer service! But I wasn't surprised, that's precisely what I've experienced from everyone in this office, especially Dr. Wong. If you need a cleaning, repair, root canal, crown, maintenance. This is the best dentist & staff, hands down, not just in Santa Rosa, but in Northern Ca. Dr. Wong is IN-Network Delta Dental PPO, but he also has competitive, going, fair rates for those who don't have dental insurance. He only does the work necessary & prudent, is very conservative in his treatment approach. He is intelligent, cautious and mindful of the best procedure for you. I've been going to this office for about a year now. I ended up switching dentists when I got dental insurance, after having the same dentist for my entire life. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was wonderfully surprised! Dr. Wong and his staff and very friendly and REALLY helpful! My previous dentist never explained to me what he was doing, and I just left with advice to brush better, so I just brushed harder thinking that was helping. I came here and they explained to me that I was brushing waaaay too hard and had lots of pockets in my gums, which explained why mine bled so frequently. They explained it all and gave me lots of solutions for the issue. Always friendly and always professional, and send you frequent reminders for upcoming appointments! read more
