I'm a Florida gal born and raised. By far the best fried shrimp I have ever had in my entire life. A MUST TRY on the way to Cedar Key. Steven was an incredibly patient, attentive and kind server.

Small, nothing fancy family owned restaurant. Great service and food. We had seafood platter with. grouper chowder and 2way grouper and crab cake. The food was really good and did not take long to get once ordered. Our waiter was friendly and very attentive. Our go to place when in the area.

We went here for lunch. It's about 15 minutes from the middle of town, so depending on your schedule, it might make a better stop on the way into Cedar Key. That being said, the best things about the lunch were the wonderful fried shrimp and the homemade coleslaw. That is what I should have ordered. My soft shell crab sandwich was a board special that included soup. Since they are in season and I asked if they were fresh (not frozen), I chose that for my lunch. Soup of the day was lentil so I went with the other option which was (red) grouper chowder. The chowder was tomato based and mainly chunks of potatoes with the tiniest flakes of fish and no fish taste and no pizzazz at all. It definitely needed something and no addition of salt nor hot sauce really helped. My soft shell crab was just okay -- small and again no real flavor. The cole slaw that came with it was very good, however. My husband went with another board special -- choosing an AYCE fried sea bass and fried shrimp. He had the same soup. It came with hush puppies that were over cooked and greasy. I stole a piece of his shrimp -- they were lightly battered and very good. Skip the sea bass -- another thing without taste. So I guess it depends on what you order for how you'll view this place. At least now I won't feel I've missed something.

Great surprise fir an out of the way spot. We got the buffet. Well worth the 13.95. Lima bean soup was good but was cold. Fried shrimp delicious. Crab cakes were ehhh just like the other reviews stated. Nice casual place. Wish they would add another restroom. There was a wait to use the only one they had. Hush puppies were the way they should be. Also their salad is a nice size and fresh. Worth the small detour. Small fish market attached too.

Halfway through the all you can eat shrimp!

I ate here again last night, for the third time, and introduced a friend from New York to the wonders of Robinson's. He loved it, too. By far, they have the best fried shrimp in Florida or Georgia that I've had yet--and I lived in Savannah, Georgia, too. What's more, they often have all you can eat fried shrimp, which comes with cole slaw and hush puppies plus either lima beans and rice or a grouper chowder. I always get the chowder and it's great, plus the fried shrimp and hush puppies are so fresh they're too hot to eat when they first come out--you have to wait a minute for them to cool. The shrimp are local and sourced from Robinson's own shrimping boats, as they run a wholesale and retail fish market, too, plus a fishing charter business. The restaurant is small, but perfect at what they do and the service is always friendly. Considering that all you can eat shrimp is only $11.95, it's a whale of a deal, too. In addition, they have other specials and some regular menu items. One of the places I simply cannot recommend enough in Florida, honestly, it doesn't get any better than this!

Stopped in for a quick bite on our way out of Cedar Key. Small place with a small town vibe. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. We ordered fried crab claws. Those were amazing. My husband also had clam chowder which he enjoyed. We both ordered cheeseburgers. Absolutely No Flavor. Even the coleslaw had no flavor.

Ask the Community - Robinson's Seafood

Do they still charge for each individual soda even refills?

No just first drink is charged and the rest are free

Did they have all-you-can-eat buffet style some years ago? We are trying to locate the restaurant where we had some incredible seafood in that area, I remember they had a self-service buffet

It was not Robinsons. I believe there is a Seafood Restaurant at the Doc in town, that does have a buffet. Check yelp for it.

The chicken was disturbingly small Chicken- butchered thin( less than 1/2 breast portion) The chicken not breaded, breast filet sliced served on an oversized bun, which belittles the poor chicken. When complained another breast sandwich was sent right away, but was not cooked. How can you send out RAW chicken! Chef ramsey would be infuriated! also portioned smaller than bread and full of gristle. Un- edible. Made due with over-cooked first order to appease my appetite, and not to complain a thirtd time. but both a sad looking chicken choice for the $10.99 price tag. However, our Waitress tried to compensate for the cooks poor or lack of skill: by only charging the price of the french fries. For a day of just taking a drive and finding this restaurant on the water, he view was gorgeous on the suwanee. Lovely day, nice weather and many airboats and finshing along the banks, the food I would skip. (At least the chicken) however my friend who ordered the blackened fish sandwich also a small portion of fish, but was pleased with the flavor and cook. So it may be a hit or miss type of place. The one star review is on the chicken sandwich. I guess the saying goes don't order something land when at a seafood restaurant.

Had some light rain on the way to Suwannee only to discover their "covered" outdoor seating is no longer safe due to structure issues. The staff was kind enough to allow is to sit inside. Had a choice of eating in the bar , the dining room or outside. We chose the dining room and glad we did. Overall all our service was very good. The server was friendly ( and very busy handling a lot of tables). I had an 8oz filet which was very good. I ordered it medium ( light pink center) and it cane out true Pittsburgh rare ( charred outside but rare inside- see pics) I was actually ok with it .... I order medium for my wife to have a couple bites even though I prefer more med rare. So this was def rare inside but I loved it ( I cut her a small end piece that was cooked a little more ) The steak comes with a salad, a vegetable and potato ( a lot of restaurants everything is alacarte - so for $40 for a prime 8oz filet with those sides included .... Not bad. Wife had shrimp and grit cake which is a large appetizer ( she had as her meal). Also had stuffed mushrooms to start that were very good. I think the town of Cedar Key will prob be one and done for us. Wanted to see it , it's quaint , old Florida ... but prob wouldn't come back. ( but only because we just wanted to check it off of a long list of Florida towns to visit) Pro tip: they don't take American Express , odd for a linen table cloth type of place .... So , it's ok to leave home without it

The outside was pretty full and we thought about sitting out there, but the idea of the bugs getting me later pushed us back inside. by the time we left at 6:40, there were only 3 other tables occupied in the dining room. We had a good dinner, although in reading some of the other reviews, we might have had the same server who seemed to be very slow and big gaps in between visiting our table - she seemed to disappear. I had the Calypso pasta with scallops, which was great. We had the stuffed mushrooms to start, which were yummy, but only 3. and my husband had a snapper fish of the day dish. He also enjoyed the pecan pie. And I enjoyed his ice cream. I was not a fan of any of the cocktails, so just had a glass of wine. My husband had the almond joy/mounds martini, whatever it was called, and he liked it a lot.

I'm thinking management must have changed because wow the staff has been better. We both ordered the same thing which we loved from our last trip 2 years ago, the Royal Red Alfredo. We get our dish and it is clearly not what we ordered last time but figure we haven't seen our waitress for 10 minutes and she never even checked on us. We had been out all day so we're starving. Oh, worth mentioning...it was my Birthday. Didnt even get a "Happy Birthday" after mentioning it to our waitress. My mother had to get a refill from the bar. The more we eat the more we realize this wasn't what we ordered, but rather the Shrimp Scampi variant. We call for the manager who argues with us over what an Alfredo sauce is which clearly it is not...he swears it is and that it has separated into God knows what as all we see is a soppy mess of butter and garlic. I show him a picture from Yelp of another customer's Alfredo from the restaurant we are CURRENTLY sitting in and told this is an old picture...We both realize we're getting gaslit as we know what an alfredo sauce is and had the exact dish so we know what it looks like. We agreed that we ate the food and will pay the price for the scampi dish they served us which is $2 cheaper than what we actually ordered. They refused to lower the bill so we left and paid without tipping. I've never had an experience quite like this where the manager will not even work with you. Not even an apology...we will never be back here again. You can judge for yourself if that looks like Alfredo to you. If you want straight seafood, this place might be alright, but the service we received was absolutely terrible.

For Desert we decided to share the Brownie Sunday. In many restaurants desserts are served up in skimpy portions, not at Treasure Camp. The portion was so large that we both ate plenty of it and brought home enough to finish off another meal. If you enjoy a rich decadent gooey brownie with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream, this will be the dessert for you. They also had Key Lime Pie, sizzling Apple Pie and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Treasure Camp Restaurant is well off the beaten path, but the food makes the drive worthwhile. If you have a boat you can also arrive that way. There are some cabins, but we did not look at them . A boat ramp is adjacent to the Restaurant and Store. After your meal you can stroll along their dock. This Restaurant has a Chiefland address, but is well outside the town. We drive from Dunnellon about an hour away, we were told that they have frequent diners who come from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs which is even further.
