Excellent experience with Robison having been a customer for over 20 years. Service technician arrived today, a freezing cold Sunday and was able to diagnose problem and restore heat. He was extremely knowledgeable about the heating system. I would highly recommend Robison Oil. read more

I tried to make an appointment for my air conditioner to be cleaned after I received the reminder call from the company. The woman on the phone told me that there was only one appointment during the month of April with a 4 hour window. My husband and I both work full time and need a late afternoon appointment (3pm). I was told that there are no appointments ever like this. I asked for any Saturday appointment. Again, I was not allowed to schedule. I tried to get any appointment at any time the 3rd week in April to no avail. I asked the woman on the phone what do people do who cannot be home during the hour window (or month!) She told me that people leave keys under the mat and the service person comes in without the homeowner at home. I have been a Robison customer for 20 years with both heat and ac, and I am going to look for another company that can accommodate my schedule . I am one of their gold members. I always thought they were a pretty good company. Very dependable. Until today. Our furnance breaks down during the night. We call them at 7:30 in the monring. We're told a repairman would be here in 3 to 6 hours. Fair enough. I call after 4 hours to get an ETA. I'm told there are two jobs ahead of ours. 4 hours later I call again. I'm told were the next job and the repairman is in our town finishing up. Another hour goes by. I call again. Now I'm told I must have misunderstood, the repairman had just arrived at the last site and they had no idea how long that job would take. So, I am now 9 hours into this with no idea when someone will come to even take a look at the boiler, let alone repair it. The house is down to 50 degrees and I have to wait until they have a better idea of when the repairman will arrive. If you need oil, they're great. If you have an emergency, not so much. read more

I have been a customer for many years and have been on an automatic oil delivery. This system works well and I have never been without oil. When I noticed that my Water Tank had broken and my basement was full of water, I immediately called their Service Department and within two hours they had someone at my home. The tank was disconnected and a new tank was ordered and installed the next day on a Saturday. Both Mike in the sales department and Frank in installation worked to get my hot water working again with lightning speed. Courteous and professional they were just great. read more

Hi, I switched to Robison about 2 years ago. I have been very satisfied with their delivery and their service. The service department has been great in helping to figure out problems and has been very available when needed. The office staff is always helpful and friendly when I call there. Had our annual air-conditioning tune-up - very professional, clean (wore booties in the house) punctual and friendly. Highly recommend.

Have had this company for over 2 years, we were looking to renew our plan. Apparently according to them our service contract was up this Oct 2016. After looking at our paperwork we have a contract from them that started Oct 2015 and expires Oct 2017. Called them back to confirm this and they are now saying this is a typo mistake, our contract ends Oct 2016. Would not stand behind their mistake, horrible to deal with over the phone. Tammy was the only person that understood the situation but their supervisor just kept saying it was a mistake and they will not honor their mistake. What a piece of sh%$t company. Mistakes happen, we understand that, but in the end the company should bite the bullet and honor the mistake. read more

I find it very unfortunate that I am finally to the point that I feel I must write this review. I have had Robinson for 3 years, with one year of service. After running out of oil for the second time last year I was told that they installed an alarm that would alert them to fill my tank when low. Again today I ran out of oil. After calling and explaining I have a baby in the house they did in fact send a truck to fill my tank, however, my heat would still not go on. After calling again they finally sent a tech 7 hours later and advised that my system was clogged because of running out of oil (which at the time was supposed to be on auto fill) and on top of that the charge was $300/hour for the tech to fix it. They also mentioned that my system was never cleaned which is untrue and it was cleaned by their company 4 months ago. They are unorganized and unreliable. Heat in the winter is imperative and I can not count on Robinson. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Beware of this company. You will run out of fuel more times than they will ever fill your tank even with a contract because in the end you will find another company to show up before they do. They will never deliver your oil on time because they want you to run out of fuel so they can send a service tech and charge you more money. This is the 3rd year in a row that I have ran out of fuel. They were suppose to deliver my fuel at 10:30 this morning however the woman on the phone told me that they have so many customers and so many people waiting for fuel that there are now 40 people in front of my "scheduled delivery" that I in fact called them last week to remind them about. Here I sit with a sick 4 year old and no fuel and the woman basically told me no one is coming to help me tonight. It's a shame that they are so money hungry and take on more customers than they can actually handle. If you can't handle your current customer base then why are you advertising for more customers? I think I answered my own question in the 3rd sentence. They can't keep customers because they don't do good business. Do yourself a favor and find another company or you will regret your decision! read more

I am a small business owner and try to patronize other small business owners whenever possible and practical. However, when it comes to the safety and comfort of my family, the highest quality service is most important. As an Inn owner and home owner, heat and hot water are not luxuries. They are necessities. When selecting a heating and oil company for both properties, the service is of paramount importance to me. I do not want to pay the highest price for oil. However, I would rather pay a little more than the lowest price as long as I get the service needed. My loyalty has been repaid in spades. A few years ago, our boiler was destroyed in one of the hurricanes. We are educated people but the documentation process to get the much needed help through NYSERDA, FEMA, and our insurance company was expedited by Robison. It was a very complicated process during a time of much stress. Fortunately, they were there to help us every step of the way including the installation of our new boiler. Robison makes it look like like you are receiving great professional service and support initially, then they end up overcharging, blaming the customer, and bailing when you have questions after repeated phone calls and inquiries. They initially give you the impression they are there for the customer with there repeated texts on tech guys coming out and asking feedback on how they are doing, however, they are just out for the money and ultimately felt completely abandoned and abused after dealing with this company with the total lack of professionalism, verbal abuse and intimidation from the salesperson, and absent support and lack of customer service. No one in management of this franchise focused on training these employees about "the customer is always right." THEY TEAM UP TO BLAME TO CUSTOMER when problems arise. WARNING. STAY AWAY. IF something goes wrong with your contractor or service work, you are f%^^d with this company. They sent a ridiculous amount of workers to perform a job, had no idea about which way was up or finding the correct information about our property in their computer system, and then we, the customer were blamed and verbally abused from Robison's salesperson for their own mistake. Completely disorganized in their computer system, and overcharged our credit card and bailed when we questioned the charge. WATCH for hidden fees! If you ever get contractor work done, they quote you a price over $4000, changed the estimate and proposal about 4 times during the job, the changed and upped the price AGAIN after they were done and BEWARE ON YOUR PROPOSAL ESTIMATE WHERE THEY SAY "PLUS THE COST OF PERMIT FEES. AFTER CHECKING WITH THE BUILDING DEPT, the cost of permit fees were only $165 and they charged over $410 for permit fee expenses with no explanation of why it cost an additional almost $300 and now am dealing with a dispute from the credit card company over this BS. No calls back from company. Salesperson and people in management was/were completely verbally abusive, threatening, attempting to intimidate me over the phone -Is this actually a real company? I've worked in customer service my whole life and never encountered an experience of this nature - hence the ONLY reason why this experience motivated me to write this review. They don't know which way is up, and ultimately then blame you, the customer for their complete disorganization. read more

1st year customer with this company,my account manager was excellent and I got my oil deliveries for the contracted amount on time,but now I received an oil delivery in MAY that was NOT asked for and not under the contracted amount when the weather has already warm and now it is my responsibility to pay for oil I did not ask for,beware of this company because they will deliver excess oil without your notification and tell you it was under automatic delivery when I have told them on numerous occasions I will call for oil when it is needed,I will let all my customers and all my friends know about this game that this company plays to get rid of excess oil and the customer ends up with excess bills and Robison does nothing to correct it but tells you there is a miscommunication but you still have to pay for our screw up.Very disappointed in this company and will let everyone know unless corrected read more

Our condo complex has been working with this crappy oil company for several years. I say crappy b/c that's exactly what they are. ON several occasions we actually ran out of oil (most recently this past Sunday) b/c they have a ridiculous service called auto-refill where they "guess" when you need a refill based on last year's oil usage. Well their "guess" has been off several times resulting in cold showers and freezing homes. As the new mom, this past winter I had to pack up my 3 month old and head to a restaurant for warmth. This morning (a Monday), my husband had to take a cold shower while coming down with a cold. The owner could not get us any oil until later in the morning which resulted in several owners being late to work..ok, so you can shower cold but after a hot weekend in NY especially when you pay your bills should NEVER be an option. Would I recommend these idiots to anyone? HELL NO. Needless to say Robinson has no lost our account. Save yourself the drama and pick any other company..unless you enjoy cold homes and cold showers. read more
