Robotos was always a go-to while I was a student at FSU and still a go-to whenever I am in town. This was my first time at this location, it looks nice inside. I ordered my food ahead of time online and took it home. I appreciated that it was ready when I showed up. I also LOVE the self serve sauce station. You can never have enough yum yum sauce!! I love hibachi, but it's always so pricey. I call Mr Roboto's "fast food hibachi" & recommend this place 100%. I always get the hibachi chicken with fried rice and vegetables & it's consistently been fantastic. My husband gets the panko chicken with double fried rice and he's never had any complaints. I always steal a few pieces of his chicken, it's got a perfect golden brown crust and I can't resist. The panko chicken itself doesn't have any sauce so it's a little bland, but if it came with sauce it would be soggy so neither of us mind since they have a self serve sauce bar & you can dip it in some yum yum or teriyaki sauce (our favorites) and it adds the perfect amount of flavor. Even my two year old loves their food, he will alternate stealing mine and my husbands chicken, and he loves stealing some of my veggies as well. Sometimes we add mini spring rolls or krab puffs to our order, and they're fantastic every time. The portion you get for under $10 is huge, I usually have enough to make another small meal out of it. You really can't beat the prices here, especially for how much food you get! My aunt and my grandma both took me out to a birthday lunch recently (separately) and I took both of them to Mr. Roboto's. Neither of them knew about this place before I took them and both of them said they would definitely be back! My only complaint is that they don't have sushi at this location, I used to live in college town and both the Pensacola and Tennessee locations had sushi that I got regularly, but I don't mind too much when the regular meal options they have here are so great! read more

Mom and I stopped here for dinner on our way north from Florida. Mom ordered General Tso's chicken. The cashier said, "with...?" We told the cashier we had never been to Mr. Roboto Tokyo Grill before and we didn't know how to order. He explained to us that we should order our main meal and rice or noodles or vegetables as our sides. But nothing else. Mom ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice. I ordered the chicken hibachi with a salad and vegetables and two Diet Cokes... that had a "best by" date of January 13, 2025! We were there on April 8, 2025. They were NASTY. The food was good and filled us up. When our food arrived, about 10 minutes later, I asked if there was silverware and dressing in the bag. The cashier pointed to the back of the restaurant and said, "there's dressings and silverware back there." This is not how I was expecting to be treated after I told him we had never been here before. We could have picked up our sauces and utensils while we were waiting. Maybe some retraining needs to be done with the cashier who encounters people say, " we've never been here before." read more

Mr Roboto is one of our favourite places to eat in Tallahassee. We're eat there often and have never had a bad meal. The staff is always friendly. Food is always cooked quick. The seating area is usually fairly empty, helping us to feel comfortable eating inside even when Covid-19 numbers were pretty high. Don't get me wrong- they seem to do a lot of business. It seems like a lot of it is takeout. Speaking of takeout- the food holds up good for takeout. We live 45 minutes away and it is every bit as good when we eat it at home. The seats are all wooden, so not the most comfortable. And the bathrooms could be nicer. But those are not factors that would deter me from a quick, reasonably priced yummy dinner! read more

This was my first visit to a Mr. Roboto. I have been wanting to try it out as I pass this location regularly. Upon entering, the staff member was on the phone and the other staff member was checking tickets. When the man hung up the phone, I was greeted. I ordered the General Tso Chicken with fried rice and a fountain drink. I was handed a number for them to bring my food. I tried the corner and saw a nasty seating area and condiment counter. If I saw this earlier, I would have never eaten here. I kept questioning my choice as I looked area more. It looks like no one has cleaned since it opened. Old dried out food and sauce on the walls, booths, and floor. Everything was sticky or crusty. No telling how long the sauces in pump containers have been out and not chilled. I would not touch them. After a very long wait, food arrived at the table I cleaned off. The chicken and rice were of a good portion size and smelled delicious. Everything looked okay to eat. So I proceeded to try it. Food tasted good. The two broccoli spears was so small I would not count that as a vegetable side. About 15 minutes after eating, I had a rumbly in my tumbly. Then, volcanic explosion. If you are needing doctor assistance or prepping for an colonoscopy, this is your place. It will take care of you quickly. So I will not be back until I schedule a colonoscopy. read more

Roboto's doesn't mess around. The Mahan location suggests a condensed menu, with the addition of Korean BBQ and the lack of sushi. Not much has changed since I managed the joint. The food is consistently flavorful, while never putting a dent in your finances. The sauce bar remains the cool place to hang out. The Korean BBQ has become a fan favorite here. All of these dishes are prepared on the hibachi grill. The reason why it's good is because of its simplistic approach. Meats are marinated over night, cooked appropriately and piled high. Bulgogi beef w/ fried rice and kimchi will cure all of your taste buds. Business pops from 11am-2pm and 6pm-8pm. But my main man Javoris pumps out delicious meals with ease. Worst covid response I've seen. I just moved closer to this location and we were exhausted from moving everything we own in the heat while wearing masks. Mr. Roboto sounds good, we thought, let's order that. But no. - To order online you have to download their proprietary app, install it on your phone, and set up an account. Nope. So we called to place an order, but they won't accept payment over the phone. Whatever, we're hungry. - We were buying food for a friend who helped us move, so we asked that one dish be bagged separately so she could just take it and head home. - I get there and walk in to pay. None of the employees were wearing masks over both mouth and nose. The woman at the register had hers pulled down under her chin. I stopped six feet back and asked her to pull it up. She looked annoyed and said, "It's hot." I said yeah, pull your mask up. She pulled it up under her nose. I said it again and she sort of pulled it loosely over the nose. I leaned in and paid and they handed me one bag of food - the one I asked to be separated out was buried under the other two in the same bag. - For sauces they directed me to the self serve area. A sign above the area said "sanitize before use" but no sanitizing supplies were provided. There were little cups spread everywhere, most of them containing small amounts of sauce, and nothing was wiped down. I checked and both Yum Yum sauce containers were empty, so it didn't matter anyway. - One of the dishes had the wrong rice option. Since your food is made to be doused in various (self serve) sauces, I wound up with two plates of bland food that definitely weren't worth the risk of covid. Oh, and soggy krab wantons. Be better. It's been a few years since I've been to a Mr. Roboto's location in Tallahassee. I had yet to visit the Mahan one, and some friends and I decided to try it out. This location is nustled right next to Jersey Mike's in the Publix shopping plaza right off Mahan. It's a decent location near a ton of stuff. The place itself is modest in size, but it seems a lot of people order out from here too, so I doubt it's ever too packed in there. I love Japanese themed artwork, so the mural on the wall was really neat, and it added nice flair to the ambiance. The only thing I would say about the inside is that the seats aren't the most comfortable, but hey, you can always order to-go! There aren't terribly many choices of food to get, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. I think they offer a good cornerstone of each type they cater to, i.e. Hibachi, Chinese, and Korean. I've had one from each of them. Hibachi chicken, orange chicken, and bulgolgi beef have all been great. My favorite would be the bulgolgi beef though. It's seasoned well, and with an extra serving of rice you have plenty of food. Top it off with some yum yum sauce and you're in for a treat. The prices are great honestly. It's cheap, fast, and tasteful. Most of the meals are below $10 I believe, so it's easy on the wallet. The staff was fine. I have no complaints there, as they did their jobs how they were supposed to. My friends and I visited 3 times within a week, and I got a good feel of what it's about. For the price and amount of food, it's hard to beat this deal in Tallahassee. read more

I'm not a huge hibachi lover, but this place was really good! My roommates and I stopped by to grab food on our way through Tally. We didn't initially want to sit down to eat, but the service was insanely quick! And importantly still fresh. I went the safe route and got the chicken hibachi with white rice and veggies. My boyfriend got steak hibachi with friend rice & ginger salad. The steak was actually really great & I would recommend it over the chicken if you're having trouble deciding. The only thing all of us weren't crazy about was the ginger salad. Usually I could drink ginger dressing by itself, but this one in particular didn't make me love the salad. I'm not gonna lie, the sauce bar won me over. I like a variety of flavor and usually get every sauce I can when it's an option. Try the miso!!! I don't really blame them because it was busy, but I'm used to getting my food here a bit faster. Expect custom hibachi with your choice of meat and noodles or rice. I love the fried rice and chicken here- you can't go wrong! It's not the most *authentic* Japanese food- more Amer-Asian- but still so good and worth it if you're craving hibachi. Also, I feel like at some larger, "nicer" hibachi places, you pay for the theatrics. No only is the galley free of clutter, each of the three guys behind the line seem focused on their respective areas. Presentation is good and portions are just right. Front of the house service is ample and cordial. There was an expediter and two greeters/cashiers at the front who were all smiles and attentive. Cleanliness is striking. I'm here at 2:45 today, 8 tables are sitting, three customers in line - and there are no unclean tables in sight. Music at the right volume (Katy Perry - Dark Horse was one, Omi - Cheerleader remix was another tune I remember). The menu is consistent across this Mr. Robots and the other two in town (Pensacola & Tennessee). I normally order either the bulgogi or the red curry. All the way hot. My husband pcked this up on the way home last night for dinner around 630PM. It took about 25 minutes from the time he ordered it to walking out the door. I saw online the menu had sushi but they told him their location doesn't serve sushi as the Publix next door does (???). We ordered spring rolls. I had chicken hibachi with fried rice and veggies. He had the same with extra rice. It did not come with the tractional soup and salad--for the price I'd gladly skip those 2. I really enjoyed my meal! The portion was definitely enough for lunch the next day. I am not sure if they making their shrimp sauce in house or not but it was awesome! My husband brought home regular and a spicy version. Tables were dirty. There was NO ONE there. Should have been my first red flag. The girl at the register definitely wished she was somewhere else. Not even a smile. I got the bulgogj, my wife got the spicy shrimp. My son got the chx hibachi. My "vegetables" were so over steamed they were like mush except for the multiple pieces of inedible cabbage core they thought i would eat. The shrimp tasted really REALLY weird and soft. A-OK is exactly how I would describe Mr. Roboto Tokyo Grill. It was totally tasty, but I'm not going to tattoo their name on my body or anything. I like the fast and casual bug that has bit Tallahassee. It suits my wallet and my waistline because so many places cater to my need to diet after I eat ice cream for dinner too many nights in a row. The menu at Mr. Roboto is super simple and laid out in a way that makes it easy to decide. The Mahan location doesn't have as many items as the online website describes; only Hibachi. I got the veggies and tofu and it was surprisingly good (not over or under cooked which was a nice change from most fast-chain spots; tofu was seared nicely and soft on the inside) but pretty bland. They serve a lot of rice (your choice of white or brown) and you best believe we hit up that sauce bar. I don't like the mayo-based sauces so my choices were limited but the ginger and teriyaki didn't disappoint and they complimented the simply prepared veggies and tofu. My only beef (bad pun alert) was that there were pieces of beef sprinkled amongst my veggies. It was just a little tasteless (the idea of beef desecrating my innocent veggies, not the beef itself). If I'm not craving anything in particular and want something simple and quick I will definitely return. read more

We especially like that we can substitute more veggies for rice since we are attempting a Keto diet. Have had most menu items and like them all. Love the bulgogi beef and a little side of kimchi.
