We loved our entire experience at the Madison Ave Flagship. From the moment we entered the store, to the delivery and follow-up, the service was exceptional. We went in to purchase a coffee table and ended up also getting a unique matching lamp as well. Vinko was incredibly patient and spent a lot of time explaining the characteristics of each piece and was not pushy at all. I especially like the follow-up afterwards to ensure everything is okay and we are satisfied with the purchase. Overpriced, colorful furniture that will end up on your curb within six Months. And the warranty? Forget about it. Half of my stuff (furnished two apartments simultaneously) ended up on the curb/trash because I couldn't donate rickety, unbalanced tables, chairs, etc., to charity as it was a health hazard. Think about that for a second, customers are spending tens of thousands to well over hundreds of thousands of dollars, yet Roche Bobois furniture can't even be donated; it's that bad. Customer service? If you're no longer a potential customer, post-purchase subset need not apply. And don't get me started about the numerous scandals that involved them using lower-quality materials and passing them off to the customer as high-quality products. They really do manage to bridge quirky to stylish and create an iconic look, although you may need to put your bank manager on danger money! Above all of that though is the quality of the assistants. After paying a professional visit to my apartment, and seeing the space, and colors in my living room, Irina helped me chose the fabric, and sofa sizes that would best work with the space, the existing furniture in the room, and with my taste. After the sofas were delivered, Irina recommended cushions that would complement the new sofas, and the contents in the room. I found Irina's aesthetic perception and capability to be truly superior. Beautiful furniture, a fusion of classic and modern design, incredibly helpful staff, and shipping options on almost everything. Two stories of 'wow' that certainly bests Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn in terms of quality and customer service. In my opinion, this is one of the most decadent and beautiful stores for home decor today. Roche Bobois entered my lexicon when I saw a feature on them in a UK magazine a few weeks back. One piece in particular, the Jean Paul Gaultier couch, jumped out at me as being a really amazing piece of furniture. Wow, this is a beautiful store! The furniture looks identical to designs featured in luxury magazines. Instead of spending a lot of money hiring someone to decorate your apartment/home, shop here instead. True, the prices are for the luxury market but the products reflect it. I am totally disappointed at the installation and after sales service of Roche Bobois. We ordered an entertainment wall unit from them that was installed about 4 months ago. From the day one we noticed that the drawers and the doors of the unit did not close properly. We called the salesperson who had assisted us in the purchase, instead of taking it upon himself to look into and get them fixed he simply connected us with another gentleman who he said is responsible for after sales service. Well, after pursuing him for couple of weeks he sent an inspector or another installer who came saw and informed us that there are some magnets missing which he does not know and understand why they were not sent by the factory at the time of delivery and why the original installer did not tell us and report. Well it has been 4 months and after spending over $17K on a wall unit that we have a dysfunctional piece and headache of trying to call, follow up and just wait for things that a furniture company like themselves should have taken care of it in the first place. The irony is that they collect all monies before delivery and then leave the consumer haggling afterwards. Terrible products and terrible service! read more

Great design but really terrible customer service!!! After we made the purchase, nobody was taking care of us! We waited 7 months to get our furnitures delivered, and they came out be the wrong size!!! The manager was not answering my emails and nobody seemed to care!!! I was introduced by a friend and really liked the design and decided to make a big purchase here. But the whole experience was just so disappointing, they just wanted your money. Once you paid, be careful, nobody is going to take care of the rest any more!!! I really wish they could fix their customer service and make the procedure more friendly. Beautiful furniture but horrible service. It took 10 months to receive our furniture and when it came legs of couches were missing and the tables had cracks and nicks on them. Calling to report the damage required speaking with multiple teams of people. No one person seemed to take charge. It doesn't appear that there are any persons in management who are concerned about the poor service. We still have other rooms to furnish and we will not be coming back to this store. read more

This has to be the most beautiful furniture store I have ever been in to. They even made me like Orange on a sofa. The designs look like they belong in an art museum. The Mah Jong sofa is one of my favorite items, and the Jean Paul Gaultier limited edition version is unbelievably gorgeous. The quality of this furniture made in France and Italy is impeccable and It is well worth the high price-tag if you really want a "Keeper" piece of furniture that is functional and unique. They also have gorgeous lamps and rugs. The styles here runs the gamut from old world French to ultra modern. The salespeople are super friendly as well, which is refreshing given the couture atmosphere of the merchandise. read more

We had a problem with the finish on a table purchased from them. The local Rep. came and looked at the table, gave us totally inaccurate information and then said that it was our problem as there was nothing wrong with the table. We then had a professional wood product manufacturer/finisher look at the table. He immediately knew what was wrong and that the problem was caused by incorrect finishing methods. Roche-Bobois to date has refused to discuss the situation with our designer and has not offered to correct the problem in any way. Based on the customer service we have received from them to date, we would never buy another product from them. read more

I have been buying furniture there for several years. Generally I have been happy but I bought a console table 3 years ago which was defective. The wood surface started to buckle. Their service technician admitted that it was not my fault. They do NOT honor their warranty. They refused to let me return the table, I received a store credit for half of what I paid. Roche Bobois has been incredibly frustrating to work with. They offer no customer service for an issue stemming from a faulty finish on a table they sold to my client. The North American sales rep for Roche Bobois has never offered to call myself or my client to come to a resolution on this issue. After hiring a forensics expert in millwork and furniture it was determined that the finish was not allowed to dry in between coats, causing what is known in the industry as "blushing". Roche Bobois remains silent on this stating that it is the "customers problem" and will not return emails or phone calls. Truly one of the worst businesses in a global market. read more

Recently, we renovated a condo and needed to buy furniture for several rooms. Roche Bobois was one of several "high end" stores we explored. Because the price points are high, our expectations were high. We were so impressed with the design, the quality, the craftsmanship and the service that we bought the majority of our pieces from Roche Bobois. Our sales rep/senior interior designer, Camilo Muñoz, helped steer us, diplomatically, to choices that we may not have made without his guidance, but are so happy with the results. To assuage our fears of stepping out of our design comfort zone, he had a 3D rendering done showing our selected items in our renovated condo. I am familiar with renderings and this one of the best, most detailed I've seen. We live in St. Louis, so the merchandise was shipped from NY and a team of expert installers was flown in to make sure everything arrived in good condition and was installed correctly. The entire experience, from browsing, thru the lengthy selection process (which included delicious macarons to sustain us) to delivery and installation exceeded our expectations. read more

Our furniture was delivered recently and the delivery went off without a hitch. The Roche Bobois delivery men are the best! They are courteous, professional and helpful. Once the sofa was in the room, they made sure that it was positioned just the way we wanted it to be. Then they made sure that we knew how to work the mechanisms for reclining and told us other helpful information about the piece. Fantastic furniture, very poor customer service. The phone is not answered for long periods of time. There is no follow through on fabric samples. Do not know their own product line and which pieces can be done in fabric or not, if shown on the floor in leather. My husband and I just had a great experience at Roche Bobois. We were greeted by a very courteous salesperson and when we explained that we wanted to do a 'once around' the store before having our questions answered, no problem we were left alone. After about half an hour 'Brennan Bohman' checked in with us again and thus began the next 2 hours of choosing several pieces for our living room in a new home build. I can't say enough about Brennan...... We arrived with our architectural plans and explained to Brennan what we thought we were looking for. He gave us several suggestions for furniture layout and with explanation gently steered us away from choices that he felt wouldn't work. His background in architecture and interior design were invaluable choosing color, fabric/texture, and figuring out scale. The end result is that we have several pieces on order.....Lagune couch with square corner in Tenderesse Leather 763, 2 'Spirale' Armchairs in Jersey 17 and a couple more things!! The quality of the furniture is impressive and we expect 'years' of comfort from it. We are so excited about our furniture and can't wait for it's arrival in our new home. I am writing to express my disappointment in the Roche Bobois sales team. I knew exactly what I wanted as I did my research ahead of time. I went to the showroom solely to make contact with a salesperson, select the fabric, and place my order. After 45 minutes, with my selection settled I learned that it was literally twice as much as my research indicated. (And when I say research, I mean information provided to me by a salesperson on the Madison Avenue store). I thought I was purchasing three cushions and a pillow for $5k, turns out it was $10k. Nevertheless, I went ahead with the order. In the end, I was delivered my goods over a 4 month period in two separate shipments. Unbelievably, they charged me twice for shipping - even though I placed the order at ONE time. I've never heard of charging a customer per delivery, let alone when an order was placed at one time! My protests fell on deaf ears - probably because in the interim, we had to deal with 4 different salespeople - each one seemed to quit or get moved elsewhere - and knew less than the previous. Oh, and the outrageously expensive "lumbar" pillow is something that I could have sewn and stuffed myself - not worth the $750 price tag. Except for the pillow, I do like the purchases although I admit I still cringe at the thought of RB's lack of professionalism each time I sit on the piece. Nevertheless, I will NEVER shop with Roche Bobois again. Ever. read more

We had previously ordered furniture from Roche Bobois and are extremely happy with the exceptional quality of the design and fabrication of the pieces. This time we worked with Marco, who has an incredible eye for design and is a joy to work with. We needed to order another armchair with a color and texture that would 'pop' and make our living room come alive. After viewing pictures of our current setup he advised us on options we had never thought of. Marco not only recommended pieces from Roche, but also shared broader design considerations, which provided the finishing touches we needed and inspired new ideas for how we can enhance our home. Marco works internationally and if you happen to be able to work with him you are very lucky. Sandro, the store manager of their 34th street location, helped us with all our orders from start to finish and went above and beyond to make our Roche purchases a great experience. We will definitely work with Sandro and his team in the future. 5 stars. read more

Unfortunately, the efforts of the designers and manufacturers are undermined, at least in the case of the NYC store, by the horid customer service-rude, disengaged, glib. I guess the fact that the store management does not even give shoppers the courtesy of having product dimensions in feet/inches, only in centimeters should have been clue one of the poor attitude the store has, Roche USA has, in promoting a pleasant and easy retail experience. If you have six plus months to wait for your furniture and don't mind glib, inept, uncaring "help" scheduling furniture delivery or sorting out any minor snafus with the product once it finally arrives then the product itself is hard to beat. Sadly, Roche USA retail and customer service in NY is its own most difficult competition. read more
