I took my van to this place for a recall many years ago. When I finally got my car back, it looked like a junk car. They ended up replacing the whole harness and kept my vehicle for over a month. The carpets were left dirty, and even though my van was only two years old at the time, it looked like it was over 20 years old. When I asked why they ruined my car, they just said, "We replaced the harness, but we didn't charge you anything." The company may have paid them, but that doesn't matter -- what matters is they left my car in terrible condition. After that, the wireless headphones didn't work, the doors didn't work properly, and several cover pieces were missing. Stay away from this dealer. Never bring your car here. read more

This review is about the service department. I have been dealing with a service rep named Justin. I have had an issue with my CRV since I purchased it. I travelled to the West coast for work and the computer screen would periodically go black. The issue was never resolved at two different dealer. No one could solve the problem. I returned to Janesville Honda and have had several appointments with no resolution and conversations with Justin with no follow up. Many times he never got back to me after promising to do so. Justin said he'd call Honda corporate for a solution he never called back. Nonetheless the issue was never resolved. I purchased a new CRV in 2019. Finally the screen went completely dead in December of '23. I called to expand an oil change appointment time to fix my vehicle. Surely they would figure this out now. I would need a loaner car. Justin stated he had no cars available the day of my call. Not what I needed nor what I was asking for-He told me to call back in a couple of days to see if they would have a loaner available. That didn't make much sense to me. I reminded him Of the multiple appointments I'd made and with no resolution and thought he'd be more accommodating and offer to call me back. He made reference to a Carmax review which I had recorded about the situation which displeased Justin. So the run around was Justin's attempt to be passive aggressive. Justin claimed he referenced my review to make me happy. I cancelled my oil change appointment and went to a dealership in Madison. They diagnosed the problem immediately , ordered the part and problem solved. Fortunately I have an extended warranty for a repair which should have been fixed years ago. I'll never return to Janesville Honda for service. Can't decide if they are incompetent or dishonest. No longer my concern. read more

We called ahead to Rock County Honda in hopes they would have the kind of battery we need - and they did. Moreover we could get there just before they closed and they could replace it in half an hour. We rolled in, and they were good to their word. Don't go here. Went here when looking for a new Honda Civic, they weren't very helpful and gave me an overpriced offer, according to MSRP. Got a car elsewhere and wanted to get the first oil change at a dealership and this was the closest one to me, I got the oil change, and every thing seemed fine until a couple days later when the catch pan under my car came off. Turns out they did not put the bolts back on after taking it off for the oil change. This led to damage happening to the catch pan. Fixed it myself, but reached out to the dealership to see if they could do anything such as reimbursement for the oil change, or a discount. I have tried to talk to multiple people there, but have yet to receive a call back, seems like they're always unavailable when there's a problem. read more

I bought a brand new 2018 accord sport from this dealership and had it serviced there over the past five years and everytime I viewed my receipt everything was always checked off as good but today I decided to visit an oil change facility in Janesville and watched the kid inspecting my vehicle and when he showed me the air filter and cabin air filter I almost vomited both filters looked like birds nests covered in mold , I even had 8500 dollars worth of bodywork done there on my car after my accident in 2021 and this past October I had my winter service done and they didn't even rotate my tires because one of my rims is scuffed and it was still in the same position , I blame poor management at this facility because they rush their workers to get the cars in and out as fast as possible !! I will never go back to their facility ever again and I will spread the word around Janesville for sure read more

Went in to order a Honda Pilot to lease. Had them do a trade in value on our Dodge Journey which I had proof from Carmax and many other sites of the value that it was worth in this market. They came back with a low ball offer that was insulting. Said they could not compete with Carmax pricing that we got offered. Went to Madison and ordered a Honda from another dealer that gave us a trade in much more closer to what Carmax offered. Pretty sad they could not negotiate better. Sale lost for them. read more

Everybody was wonderful-- made sure we were ok, played down the damage to their property, and even drove us over 20 miles home in a torrential rainstorm. Ok, just bought a car from this dealership. We first went one Saturday to test drive. No pressure whatsoever. Tim, the salesman, was helpful without being majorly annoying. We then went home and I scoured the internet to find out what other customers paid for the vehicle we wanted. I then emailed several dealerships and got a great quote. I then called Tim back and asked if they would honor the quote from another dealership. He said bring it in and we'll write it up. We were not going to pay more than another dealership so we were ready to walk if Rock County Honda didn't agree to our price. Took the quote in and were able to purchase the car at the quote we received from the other dealership.. No pressure at all. At closing, warranty man wasn't even pushy. Tim spent a bunch of time going over all the features when we picked up the car. I can honestly say I would recommend Tim. This dealership definitely needs to upgrade their overall inside environment as it is stuck in the 70's. Really needs a woman's touch inside. But I suppose I can overlook that if I get a good deal but not for long. Get that remodeling done soon. read more

I went to Rock County Honda last weekend for my 150,000 intermediate service for my Honda Civic which was $190. I live in Madison and Zimbrick wanted $350 for the same service. (They may have had some 'extras' attached to it) I wanted to have what the Honda manufacturers recommended, not the extras. Leif at Rock Auto was very straight forward, professional and no surprises. He even caught a headlight recall that I forgot about. He gave me recommendations for future services, but no pressure. It was well worth the drive. read more

We bought a new Honda Fit LX from Burnie Bailey and it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. We got a great price through the dealer's "Get E-price" web feature (which Burnie set up for the dealership). He is very laid back and friendly, definitely not a high-pressure sales person. He's also very knowledgeable about the Fit, and spent a good bit of time explaining the car's features to me and my wife. Our experience with the Finance department was generally good, though I overpaid for the Honda Care extended warranty by about $200. On the other hand, we saved $180 or so with the better interest rate we were offered compared to our credit union's rate, so in the end it was a wash. read more

Usually I only post good experiences on Yelp. This time is different. I'm new in town, I don't know any auto repair places, but had my Accord into Rock County Honda because my clutch system completely failed, and thought I would be treated fairly. I had an early morning appointment on a Friday, and the vehicle had been towed there the day before so they could get to work on it right away. I checked in once around noon when I didn't hear back, but was told they were busy and had other customers' cars to finish up. They didn't get back to me till right before the close of business on Friday and didn't have a definitive answer as to what was wrong with my car, because they "wouldn't know until it was taken apart." But I was given a quote for a full clutch assembly. Since my car hadn't been looked at till end of business, no parts had been ordered, so the very earliest I could get my car back would be end of business Tuesday. I called around the next morning when I could talk to other shops and got a much lower quote at other places, with a shorter timeline, and decided that with the poor customer service I received (yes, I need my car back asap!) I would have it towed elsewhere. When I got to Honda to retrieve my car, Lief told me I couldn't have it back till Monday because it had been taken apart (I thought it hadn't been taken apart?) I asked to see it, and he hesitated, then let me look at my car, which was in one piece. After about half hour, I was allowed to have my car back, after paying 62.50 for "diagnostics." I love my Honda, but not this dealer. read more

I was only in for an oil/filter change, but I was out 35 minutes after I arrived. The waiting area is amazing . . . plenty of comfortable seating, work table area, free WiFi with courtesy chargers, immaculate rest rooms and vending machines. Rock County Honda has thought of everything for someone waiting for their vehicle. Leif in the Service Department explained everything clearly when my vehicle was ready and what can sometimes be a stressful experience, was very pleasant. I will pay a little more to have my Honda serviced at the dealer, but feel it is worth it for the peace of mind that the job is always done right. read more

The only good thing I can say positive is that I love our new (to us) Toyota Highlander and the buying process was pretty easy. However, we had it looked over before we bought it by a Master Diagnostic Toyota Technician and the rear brakes were seized I was reassured they would be fixed before delivery 2 days later. Well, after waiting 2 weeks for an appointment because they hadn't been fixed and having 2 techs as well as both the sales and service manager, they put the tires back on it and called it good. Not the case at all. I will spend the $250 on brakes and have a real tech fix them and give me the peace of mind that they have been done right. read more

Watch out on their certified used cars, bought one and the first time I tried to use it I was heading out a long car trip on I turned on the AC it didn't work. Did get it fixed at no cost in WA, but it was 10 days without AC and 4 hours of it getting it fixed. I stopped by at the dealership and they wouldn't even give me a car wash for my troubles. The car only had 5,000 miles on it. This is my second car I bought them them also. They will not get my business anymore. read more

I took my van in for a recall and decide to have it inspected for any other issues or problems that may be wrong. I have been to this dealer several times and have had them inspect and repair my van with out issues but this time was different. I called and made and appointment for the recall and told them i like to have my van inspected too. They told me it would be $59 which I was fine with. I also asked if there were issues with the car that they found and i got them repaired thru them, if the $59 inspection fee would be waived and they said yes just like I've had in the past. When the tech call me, Leif Sykora, he told me that there were a few things wrong with my van but, at the time i decide only to have them repair only one item which was $49. When Leif called me again to tell me the car was ready i asked what the total would be and he said $120. I explained to him when i called and in the past that they weren't gonna charge me the inspection fee long as i got some repairs done with them. He was telling me that i didn't spend enough for them to not charge for the inspection but, he would drop the inspection fee to $39. I explained to him I didn't understand why the person on the phone when I called to make my appointment would tell me otherwise. I told him I'd be there shortly to pick up my car and would talk about the issue,then he got rude and said if your not happy with $39 then you will have to talk to his manager Marty Brubaken and he was going to keep it at $59. When i got in to pick up my car both Marty and Leif were there and i explain to them what they told me on when i made my appointment. Marty said he was the one that made my appointment and i was putting words in his mouth. I didn't argue over $59 cause i knew they weren't in business of making sure the customer was happy so i paid my $120 and left. I feel they lied to me and tricked me into having my service done there. read more

Steer clear of these guys for service. They absolutely took advantage of my daughter (out of state college student) who was having problems with her Honda CRV. I suggested she take it to these guys as I've had nothing but stellar service from our local Honda dealership. These guys recommended repairs that made no sense and were in no way helpful in fixing the real problems. After 3 attempts and $800, we've given up with these guys and took the car to a local mom and pop shop. Issue solved quickly. Quote from the mom and pop shop "Can't believe the Honda dealership couldn't find the issue in 10 minutes"....Add a frustrating call to the Service Manager who only covered for his guys and this is a place to just skip. read more

I took my car to Rock County Honda besause the oil light came on. They changed the oil, did an oil pressure test then changed the oil pressure switch. The light was still on and I asked them three times if the car was safe to drive or if I should tow it elsewhere for further diagnosis. They said it was safe to drive and 1.5 miles from their door the motor blew up. They told me they did nothing wrong and I replaced the motor somewhere else. read more

I recently bought a Toyota from RCH. At the test drive I mentioned I thought it had a brake issue. I was told it could just be from the new rear brakes and my observation ignored and not looked at. After a few days and having 2 experienced auto people drive it, it was obvious it had a brake issue. I contacted them and was told to bring it in. Long story short the vehicle had to be dropped off and left with them for 3 days. No offer was made of a loaner and when I suggested they fill the gas tank for my trouble (half full already) I was told the "boss" didn't do that type of thing. Even though I was inconvenienced for 3 days, time wasted and gas to pick it up and drop it off it wasn't his problem. And if it had been actually looked at when first brought up it would have been fixed then as it was detected visually that the front brakes were indeed bad. I cannot fault Tim the saleperson but if you are looking for a dealership that goes the extra mile and offers something a little above and beyond to their customers than this isn't the place.
