I remember it before the remodel but I love how they have really opened the place up and added more space to enjoy the outdoors! Nope! I've given this spot too many trys. SHORT: Visit the wonderful food trucks; avoid the bar/restaurant PERIOD. Absolutely abysmal service. Honestly, some of the worst I've ever received at any establishment. Common to sit at a table for thirty minutes+ before anyone even greets you, or wow...serve you. Be prepared to sit and watch the waitresses hangout with other tables and chit chat away. Catch their eye and wave them over, perhaps? Sure, but you're still going to have to wait until they're ready. The outdoor tabletops are always filthy. Yay for me for being so tolerant and prepared based on previous visits, I always make sure to carry wet wipes. Once again, when finished, the cloth was covered with brown dirt and food remains. The food is right on par with public high school cafeteria fare. No. Actually, maybe middle school quality. Funky tasting burgers. Meh. Anything and everything fried tastes exactly the same. I don't think they've changed the oil in since they opened many years ago. No joke. I can't help to feel a little bit sad as this is probably the most scathing review I've ever written. I LOVE to support local and small, BUT RHB&T frankly needs to be better and do better. I'm OWTA. Don't recommend. :( read more

This place rules. Great staff, and good music. BUT.... They charge an automatic 20% on a $100+ tab.... And they don't tell you. So when I closed out, I gave an addition 20% and ended up paying 44% tip in the end. The staff probably deserved that much because they were great but you can't sneak that extra tip in there. Hidden gem of 4 points. The four points area is growing at an alarming rate, but sadly, its mostly just your typical fast food and sit down restaurants. There are not many live music spots with well priced drinks and food. Luckily, there is at least one and its just down the street from me. If you like live music, classic rock and food options, I have the spot for you. Rock House a great location right at four points with plenty of parking, 3+ food trailers and a volleyball court. We have come by on multiple Friday nights and were able to get a seat before the music started. It is typically an older crowd with the music starting around 9 but its the type of vibe I imagined Austin had for the last 20 years. You aren't bumping elbows with people and get to hear quality local music with a nice full bar right behind you. This is definitely our go to spot for a weekend night. My only hope/recommendation is they figure out the volleyball league situation. They have such a great set up and keep talking about it but I have yet to see it move forward. read more

Wish it was better. In-house food was great when it opened, then it changed late 2019, ordered BLT & Turkey sandwichs that both came out, not only late (30 minutes) but tasted like meat from Walmart or school food. Stick with the food trucks on the menu if hungry. Cons: Parking is a serious issue, with capacity issues as it shares parking with people that come to eat at the food trucks directly. Purpendicular parkers can back into your car, parallel parkers in big trucks can ding your bumper, etc. In terms of service, that also changed with the new management. They seem to like heavy drinkers, were not welcoming, actually said, "are you a regular", and drinks are not on par with other bars. In the 3 times, I've been, have seen many close fights, and insults to customers, from one of the owners. Pros: Food trucks provide many options and allow you to sit on the open tables (COVID distancing) under trees. Buy a beer and enjoy the volleyball at Rockhouse. Summary: If the management can focus on quality vs volume, think this place could be much better. They also need to address the parking and safety of cars. read more

Awesome place for happy hour. This place is like a hidden gem. Bjt it is getting popular quickly, for good reason. The patio is dog friendly. There is a sand volleyball court. There are food trucks in the parking lot plus a fee items on their own menu. The chips and queso are better than the average. Other things on the menu were not exceptional but not bad at all. You can always get the steak tacos from the Mexican food truck, which are delicious and authentic. There is a full bar, good beer, and great service. I love love LOVE this spot. As a born and raised Austinite, I crave places that still embody the original feel of Austin, and this place does exactly that for me. The inside has a really cool dive, yet modern feel, but the outside is really my favorite area. Perfect for a little unwinding on a sunny day, and the food trucks right there on the property are a huge hit. The new owners really know how to run a business like this and it definitely shows. This business was having a costume party on October 28,2023. First of all, we are charged $10.00 to get in to hear a live band and the singer wasn't present. We were hearing his voice prerecorded. The main complaint I have is when they stated they were having a costume contest on this day and decided not having the contest. This is FALSE advertisement!! I asked the staff what time the costume contest was, he stated not enough people here for the contest. That was a LIE because many people were dressed in their costumes. The employee stated they would have the contest on October 29,2023 in which two bands were scheduled to play. When I went up there in my costume the bands had cancelled because of the weather. Again, I didn't find this out until I went there. The best part is when I forgot my costume and had to drive back home from a friend's house to get my costume to wear for the contest. This is very WRONG from this business stating a costume contest and not providing the contest!!! The business stated there were cash prizes for the contest. read more

I absolutely love this place and come here often. But a group of us came in to get some food after a long day at work. Our service was so poor, our server didn't even tell us her name. She hardly came to the table so we were unable to let her know our queso was cold. She was standing at the bar on a phone and made eye contact with us a few times and continued on with what she was doing. We actually ended up closing our tab to go get dinner elsewhere. It sucks because I would love for us to be able to come here after work. But after today I doubt our group will make this a stop, which is very unfortunate. read more

My Wife and I stumbled upon this gem after leaving another restaurant in the area. We wanted to hear some live music and sit outside and we saw a large amount of parking for Rock house and decided to go in. Right away we noticed this was our scene. Live music, a good mix of young and older.. and a volleyball court. My wife and I ordered a few cold drinks and joined a family visiting from France in a solid game. The music was a cover band so it was nice to sing along. We didn't eat-- but the service was great and prompt. We have gone back twice since June and plan to go again. They double charged my account. Tried to over charge 4 of my friends. Tried to charge one of my friends someone else's tab multiple times just because they were sitting at the same table. The bartenders couldn't get a simple 2 step shot right. These managers think they can just charge whoever whatever and as many times as they want. They're a bunch of thieves and are eventually going to steal from the wrong person. And their drink prices are 40% higher than anyone else in town.
