This is such a fun hole-in-the-wall place. It's my friend's go-to in Hudson Bend and I'm sure I'd be there more often if I lived there.

Smells like smoke and shady service. I wouldn't recommend you go to this bar. Plenty of other places to go.

All good, great place for sports or casual drink in the hood. It's still writing bs now to meet the minimal character count requirement.

The TVs…read moreare pretty subpar, yet it feels like plenty of money has been spent on everything except improving the customer experience. The bartenders weren't very friendly or welcoming, which didn't help the atmosphere. The place was uncomfortably hot. They keep the garage doors open, but it doesn't seem like the air conditioning is doing much, if anything. On top of that, the crowd was pretty trashy and not the type of environment I'd want to spend an evening in. The bathrooms were another major issue. They looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time and smelled strongly of urine. My wife said the women's restroom was especially disgusting and in need of serious attention. There's also no food served, which makes it hard to justify staying for any length of time. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

There's always something going on, so you're never bored. Now let's talk drinks because WOW. The drinks are delicious, and my absolute favorite was the Cherry Limeade--so refreshing, perfectly balanced, and dangerously easy to sip.

The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

There is fun art pieces as you are on your way there from the large parking garage. Once you are inside the brewery it does get pretty cool. The seating area is fairly large and you get an absolutely fantastic view of the Colorado River in Hill Country while sipping your beer or having a meal. We ate fairly light here as we were grazing and snacking all day long as we were out and about in the Austin area. We got chips with salsa and queso and salad to split which was just right for a light snack. I got a really, really good beer which with this and the view earns Oasis a five star score. I got the Coffee Scotch Ale. When I get a Scotch Ale I want it to be boozy and strong and this one definitely hit all of the marks there. Flavor features in this beer are earthiness, sour, coffee, bitter and boozy. That last feature I am really looking for for what I consider to be a good Scotch Ale and indeed this one did. Before we left we got on a barrel with horns and took a picture. *Update* The big body of water in my pictures and mentioned in my review is Lake Travis.
