Went in with low expectations. Thought it'd be just like Doc's (previous restaurant) but it was better. Service was a little slow but friendly. Menu was an upgrade - several good sounding choices. First visit to the Rock House to try the fare from their menu. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Fish tacos and they were fair. They lacked seasoning. The tacos were served without rice or black beans which I thought they should have served as a side. Big plate with 3 tacos and a lot of white space on the plate. It felt like something was missing. Mediocre...the food seems like a Apple Bees wanna be. The service is deplorable with a slight hint of really are you kidding me?? Manager walks around like he's just got done working at a car wash. Hair messed up, shirt not tucked and walking around carrying a soda with no lid. The level of service by the wait staff is equally a joke. Why do I make the mistake of walking in here? This place royally sucks!! You walk in, don't get a hi or anything.. they seat you walk away, and the waitress comes within 5-15 min. Unless it's busy, and they will be longer. Got our food, no drink refills, food isn't seasoned properly, in fact it sucks, you hardly get anything for the price. Waitresses hang out around the hostess station. This place won't last long. They should have kept Docs, it was 100% better. Don't get a Caesar salad... yuck.. fish tacos... yuck.. service is yuck too. To each their own with this place. Good luck. read more

My regret is not getting the burger. I saw other customers eating their burgers, I really wish I did. I had the Italian grinder panini. It was FLATTENED. I've seen better panini. It should be grilled but not FLATTENED. I didn't care for mine but ate anyway. I also ordered side of sweet potato waffle fries served with brown sugar-butter-cinnamon dipping sauce. So, when I saw that the restaurant only had 2.5 stars I was out; however, we found out they were one of the only places in town that serves alcohol, we decided to give it a chance. The food is reasonably priced. $4.49 for a hamburger and then .79 cents for fries. We had no problems with anything being dirty and our server, Kirby, was great! Very attentive! My boyfriend met the owner, Amanda, and she said everything is made in house. We had the chips and salsa and the salsa was definitely not made in house (more like pace) but that could be easily fixed. I had the shrimp tacos and they were very good. I had the big steak and loved it. Flavor so good I did not need steak sauce. My beautiful wife loves catfish and we wondered if it would compare to our favorite catfish at Mack's in Heber Springs. 7 of us headed out to celebrate with a meal, after a baseball win. We got in at 7:30 and within a few minutes the table we were waiting on just paid their check. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting for the table to leave. The whole time starring at an empty table in the closed section. So 8 o'clock rolled around and we asked the hostess to ask the manager if they would allow us to sit at the empty table in the other section. The hostess comes back and says the manager doesn't want to have the waiter take extra steps so we will need to continue to wait. The did offer to bust up our group and sit us at two separate tables close to each other. Now I realize that times are hard and that COVID-19 is a pain for everyone, AND mind you we do tend to support our small and local businesses! To know we sat there for 30 minutes waiting to enjoy a good meal then to feel they didn't care about our wait and that we were a burden for them to open a big table. By no means were they accommodating! That is very disheartening! We left #RockHouseEats and headed over to #SlimChickens and had our meal! The single patty burger was a good price. Expect it to be around $11 with fries and a drink. It was greasy like momma's grilled cheese and the but was very soft on top and crispy on bottom. I really liked the bread. The patty had a great grilled taste and the meat was solid. It tasted like something from the backyard grill, but with more polish. The mildly seasoned fries were fantastic and had a great crispy texture and good flavor. Definitely solid. 8/10, would dine again. read more

I will start by saying the service was horrible. From the moment we walked in the hostess did not even smile or welcome us. We were seated and the server came up and seemed rushed and bothered. The restaurant was only half full. We ordered the spinach app and it was amazing! The lag time between the app and our main courses showing up was entirely too long. Close to 20 minutes. The steak tacos were great. The Mahi Mahi tacos were marginal at best. No flavor and bland filler. I'm not sure if they even have desserts because the server slammed the check down without asking us if we would like anything else. After we paid, we walked to the front door and four employees were gathered at the hostess station talking about their boyfriends and not one of them said thank you or even acknowledged us. Me and my family walked into the Rock House on a Sunday, when we walked in, a waitress sat us down, not smiling or greeting us in any way. All she said was, "It'll be a second." There was hardly anybody sitting inside; the menu didn't have any description of their items. I ordered the Parmesan Chicken, and assumed it would be a baked, grilled, or just a 'ala cart' chicken breast, with Parmesan on top, sprinkled with herbs/spices. No. This thing came out, and it looked disgusting. My food looked like a giant chicken nugget. The Parmesan looked fried in oil with the chicken. It tasted terrible, and I hardly took a bite.
