    Gyoza

We were in town for few days and decided to hit up this restaurant nearby. Cool ambiance in this Rock n Roll haven sushi joint. Nice service, fast and friendly. The gyoza was delicious. My hubs had the volcano roll which he enjoyed and I tried the Velcro Pygmy roll. I thought it was good for what it is, filet and smoked salmon on top. Wasn't too crazy about the blue mayo on top but it def gives a neat and unique presentation. Recommend trying it and hopefully I'll be back to try some other unique items on the menu.

    Kids Hibachi Chicken

This place was just ok to me. Maybe because it was fairly brand new but it was just very overwhelming. The amount of people here on a Sunday night was insane. I got the kids hibachi and it was just ok, very bland and not much flavor even with the sauce on the side. The miso soup also lacked flavor too. The star of the show was the hall of fame brownie-me and my sisters definitely enjoyed it! I don't think I would just go back for that but I mean if someone asks me to go, I wouldn't say No, lol. Try it out if you're looking to try something new around town.

Supposed to be 2 egg rolls

I would have to say that hands-down, this is the worst sushi/rolls I have ever had. We ordered rainbow rolls- which were 98% rice, a tiny little piece of fake crab in the middle and on the outside was a sliver of primarily avocado and the tiniest little thin, (and I mean like a millimeter sliver piece of fish.) I bet you there was not one sashimi sized piece of fish used inthat entire roll. I don't know how they can stay in business serving food like this. I will never go back. I also ordered two egg rolls for $8 and they gave us one roll cut in half.

We popped in for lunch on a Sunday and tried the Unplugged and Sweet Home Alabama rolls with a miso soup side. All of the food was delicious and our server was very attentive. We loved watching the videos too!

    Cucumber salad from Jonesville location

I'm genuinely disappointed I love Rock N Roll sushi and frequent the location in Jonesville for lunch I even had them this past Saturday and it was amazing. The Clark Butler location left a lot to be desired. Portions are inconsistent compared to other locations and boy was everything far too salty. Head banger shrimp appetizer was salty and over cooked, the third stage nachos were also soooo salty we didn't eat more than a few bites. One of my favorites is the cucumber salad but it also was very underwhelming. The VIP roll was the only thing in my order that actually tasted good. Will stick to the Jonesville location in the future. I also included a picture to compare quality as well as quantity between the two locations.

With all the mixed reviews of the Newberry location I read about this place , I was worried I would be wasting my time and money here. We went to this new one on Archer Road next to Tijuana Flats I had a pleasant experience and would come back. We had crab wontons to start off and then I ordered the thriller sushi & my bf had the sunset strip sushi. Both rolls were $13.95 each and we had a coupon for free wontons . Everything was really good. Only downside of the night was that it took forever to get our food and there weren't that many people in the restaurant. The inside gives very warm throwback vibes. Great date night place or just meeting friends to catch up. Shoutout to our server Amaya , she was so kind and welcoming. We were missing Sus Hi Eat station and this is nothing like it but good sushi place around the area when we don't want to go to Bento. I will admit if the crab wontons weren't free because we had a coupon then the total would've been $39 so I don't know if I'll frequent here because for almost $40 we could get more food elsewhere.

This place has some delicious sushi! The atmosphere is fantastic and the service is amazing. We came in late almost before they closed and our amazing server was so attentive and super nice. I opted for a more basic dish - the California roll - and it was delicious and the portion was filling. My partner was feeling more adventurous and opted for their nicer sushi and he loved it! Reasonable priced and their lunch menu is a good bargain! He also said that there were TVs in the men's bathroom which he loved! 10/10 recommend this place.

We arrived later on a Saturday night craving hibachi and sushi, and it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the steak hibachi with fried rice, and my husband went with the lobster roll. My meal started with a cup of miso soup and if you follow our adventures you know I love miso. They did not disappoint. It was hot, flavorful, and tasted freshly made with good ingredients. For a drink I ordered a Long Drink. We first tried these at a local festival and fell in love, so when we saw a citrus flavor we had never tried before we were excited to order it. My hibachi came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce mixed into the rice was really good. I do wish they gave just a little extra sauce for the rice. The rice itself was a bit stiff, but the sauce helped a lot. We also came about an hour before closing, so we were not too bothered by that. Our waitress was good, and her coworker stepped in to help when she was busy, which we appreciated. I also liked that you can see the sushi chefs working right there, and my husband really enjoyed his roll. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms, which always matters. I also have to mention the water because it actually tasted good. If you know, you know how rare that can be. They also have plenty of parking, which makes things easy. Overall we had a great experience and it was the perfect spot for a much needed date night.

The first night it was CRAZY busy. It's a smaller restaurant, and even though I was sitting at the bar, I had to wait a little because the kitchen was backed up. I honestly didn't mind because I figured that was probably a good sign that I picked the right place! I sat at the bar and was taken care of by Will. I overheard that he had literally just come from working his first job and was starting his second shift, and you never would've known it. He was on top of everything, taking care of his tables and everyone at the bar while still being friendly and attentive. He recommended the Lonely Angel roll, and it was a 10/10. I had it with miso soup and a glass of wine and left very happy with my choice. Well, I worked all day the next day and hadn't eaten, and I'm a creature of habit. If somewhere is good, I'm going back! I went back a little earlier this time, so it was much quieter, and to my surprise Will was behind the bar again. I got to talk with him a little more and he was super personable and genuinely enjoyable to chat with. He recommended a tuna tobachi and a Hokkaido roll, and somehow they were BOTH even better than what I had the night before. Seriously, 100/10. Great food, great service, and clearly consistent enough to get me there two days in a row. If I'm ever back in Gainesville, I will absolutely be back. You could tell it was fresh. O fishy taste. It just melted. I think they take care with their fish--even served on lacquered square plates. Fish styled Oyako don. Not the chicken and egg mother son combo, but a salmon sashimi and tobiko arrangement. Colorful and delish. Combo rolls from the sushi bar were gimmicky but fresh and filling. Why not... The soft shell crab was two small crabs cut and drop fried. We were surprised to see it here. Tasted fresh and good. If you've never had it check out videos of molting crabs. They take them right after the molt, before the soft skins hardens to new shell. Matcha cheesecake was very good flavor. Not your ordinary New York cheesecake but softer, allowing the slight bitterness of the green stuff to come through. Oh yeah, the tea was $4 per person. Usually my pet peeve.
