If you get the happy hour specials thats great, I didn't and ended up spending over $40 for vegetable fried rice, a sweet potato roll, happy hour edemame and a cocktail. HOWEVER, the food tastes me two days because that rice was a MASSIVE portion. The drinks are also very strong so as a lightweight I probably wouldn't get again because I couldnt finish it, but it sure was tasty. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and I would definitely come back, I would just budget better!

We'll have been kind of on a sushi trend lately and I'm wanting to try sushi in a lot of different places. We parked by the food court as I thought it was by the food court, ended up doing a big lap in the mall. It's where the old ruby tuesday reataurant used to be. We were sat down right away by a friendly staff member. We ordered the usual appetizers amd a sushi roll, which was by far the best sushi I've had being new to sushi. I ordered chicken teriyaki and the wife gotta combination teppenyaki we could not even finish all our food. There was so much of it. Definitely. Definitely. Recommend this restaurant if you love sushi and japanese food. There's a real modern vibe to it. Nice lighting, they have TV behind the bar. And on the wall. So you might get to catch a game or two.

Sushi & Shopping Sunday - Yes!!! First time at Edo Japanese Steakhouse at The Oaks Mall--the vibe. A full bar inside the mall? Genius. You can swing by for happy hour before or after shopping. Treat yourself either way. We came in on a Sunday, sushi craving and a laid-back lunchtime. The space-- Big upgrade-- is completely remodeled, brighter, and way fresher than what was there before. Contemporary clean lines, modern feel--easy to relax in. Let's talk food: We kept it classic with a variety of sushi rolls, our picks: * Shrimp Tempura Roll * Spicy Salmon Roll * Spicy Tuna Roll * Yellowtail Scallion Roll * Tuna Roll Fresh, bursting flavors, and paired with all the good sauces-- satisfying. I had a crafted gimlet from the bar--sour, sweet, and totally divine. Might come back just for the cocktails. (Did I mention they have a full bar?) The service was friendly and courteous, and we felt taken care of.

food was just okay. not a lot of flavor. our host was polite and he seated us right away. our waitress was forgetful, a little rude and never offered refills on our drinks or water.

Don't let the location fool you, even though it's attached to The Oaks Mall in Gainesville this sushi restaurant transcends into one of the best dining experiences of my life. They have a great menu and service is top tier. However the star of the show is the outstanding food. Having lived in Japan for over two years I absolutely love Sushi and often leave most restaurants disappointed. This is probably one of three restaurants I have ever been to in the states where I left with completely satisfied with the quality of the sushi. The Sushi and Sashimi combo I had was absolutely fantastic and the accompanying caviar complimented the fish perfectly. So if your looking for a great Japanese dining experience I highly recommend you try Edo. This is definitely a Gem of Gainesville and my new favorite restaurant

The food was so good I almost forgot to post my pictures. I had an app, miso soup, and the Ocala roll. Service was great and quick. The atmosphere was a like a cute date night spot. Looking forward to coming back.

Solid sushi option in Gainesville. I was a little skeptical of eating sushi at a place in the mall, but decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is nice, clean, and inviting. The sushi was impressive if not amazing. I would give it a try again if I was at the mall shopping with the family and wanted to grab some sushi on the way out. Service was also above average.

Some of the best sushi in Gainesville! Their hibachi is also great, and you get really big portions.

We stopped here last month twice for lunch and was truly impressed. The service was great and a beautiful restaurant to celebrate your birthday. Recommendations to try: Kani Salad Seaweed Salad Chicken and Steak Teppanyaki comes with soup, vegetables, fried rice Sushi- Wide variety and truly delicious. Portions are great for the price and definitely worth a try. This is now my new place to eat Japanese food. They even give you a discount on your actual birthday if you spend a minimum amount.

Traveling through ocala and found this wonderful gem. 5/5 for food, service and ambiance. Cute and stylish restaurant with very clean restroom. The menu had some great options it was hard to choose just what to get but everything we ordered was excellent. The server was so sweet and everything came out as ordered. We would be here all the time if it were close to us.

Came here last Saturday for some pre Mother's Day festivities. Was skeptical since it's in the mall- but don't let that keep you from trying this gem out. When we arrived it was a bit busy and it was early afternoon. We waited a few minutes to get seated and it seemed like maybe they were short staffed or breaks. Nevertheless once seated we were taken care of quickly. Ordered some drinks first and they were fantastic . Next was the meal and we were so happy with the presentation and overall quality and quantity of the sushi. We will be back for sure! Another Gainesville win for sushi!

Parking was free and plentiful, and we were seated without a long wait, though we highly recommend making reservations, especially on busy nights. The vibe is low-lit, romantic, and intimate which was perfect for a special occasion. Our waitress was fabulous and very attentive throughout the evening. To start, their "poppers" were absolutely delicious and a fun twist on traditional bread service, especially paired with the incredible blueberry butter. To celebrate, I ordered their Painkiller cocktail, which was smooth, delicious, and hit the spot. I also had the French onion soup, which arrived piping hot with perfectly melted cheese. For our entrées, we ordered the filet, the NY strip, and the rack of lamb, and every dish was excellent. We shared the corn and mashed potatoes, both of which were outstanding. I also loved the artistic touch on the menu check presentation. Overall, we're so happy we chose Prime & Pearl to celebrate our new marriage and will absolutely be returning in the future.

You're thinking dialed in, no shortcuts, done right every time. This one didn't get there. The hotel lounge pulls from Shula's kitchen, so I kept it simple with French onion soup and chicken wings. The soup came out lukewarm with cheese that never quite melted. Flavor was decent, but it felt unfinished, like it got called to the plate a few minutes too early. The wings followed the same pattern. Mediocre across the board. Not hot in temperature, not hot in spice, just kind of there. Nothing was bad enough to send back, but nothing came close to what the name sets you up to expect. And that's really the issue. When the bar is that high, "fine" ends up feeling like a miss. Three stars.

This year was very similar to last year, though it did seem a bit busier when I got there this time around, with them only having one space available at the bar (I know better than to bother with getting a seat... that line is out the door and down the pavement quite a ways!) It was the same deal this year as last, and I went with the same thing. The steak and everything else was excellent, and I really do appreciate what Texas Roadhouse does for Veterans on this day of Remembrance. Not only do they offer this deal to all veterans on November 11th, but if you are not feeling it on that day (I get it... the lines are a bit on the insane side and the place is busy... those with issues with large crowds might want a quieter time) you can get a voucher that is good for the next seven or eight months, which is very cool of them. I asked about the statistics for the deal, and while Texas Roadhouse does not state how many meals they issue out during this time, it is offered at every restaurant in the chain. Just by watching what was happening at the Gainesville location, I would say they are easily close to a million meals are dispatched (Texas Roadhouse has ~730 proper locations spread out across the country). I made sure to tip well... the servers and bartenders and everyone else there were being run ragged, and they should be compensated appropriately!
