My husband and I shared the dumplings and both loved them. The texture was perfect and the flavor was really good. The portions overall felt like a great size and everything tasted freshly made. I ordered the pork fried rice and really enjoyed dipping it into the house made dumpling sauce, which honestly made the meal even better. Our waitress was very pleasant, and made sure we had what we needed. The vibe inside was very quiet, cozy, and romantic, making it a really nice spot for a relaxed date night. The restaurant was also extremely clean, which we always appreciate, and there was plenty of easy parking. We'll definitely be back once they add the ramen noodles to the menu!

That said, the vegetable fried rice and dumplings were both a 5 out of 5. The dumpling dipping sauce was honestly one of the best I have ever had and really stood out. The staff was very nice and pleasant. The space is on the smaller side, which was fine since we went during a slower time. We were not able to choose our table, which would have been nice, and while you are not right on top of other people, the tables are close enough that it can be hard to have a private conversation. There were a couple things that held it back. I was served a drink that was close to eight months expired. I did not make a big deal about it and still drank it, but that is something they definitely need to stay on top of. Also, the menu said Pepsi products but only Coke was available. With better inventory checks and a more updated menu, this place could easily be a five star spot. It is just not quite there yet.

While in town visiting family and friends over the Fourth of July holiday, we met a few friends at…read moreTortillas for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We have been to this area before on previous trips, but Tortillas was a newly opened restaurant since our last visit. We were definitely excited to give it a try! The restaurant is located in a modern development, combining housing and retail. It appears that there is a lot of development and growth to this area, and it makes sense that restaurants and other businesses are moving in. There are several other businesses and shops in the complex, and Tortillas is near the front on the left. At the time we went, it was not very crowded. We had no trouble finding a parking spot close to the entrance. The complex has private parking all around the buildings. There are several tables located outside of the restaurant, so you could dine outdoors and bring your dog. However, we sat indoors for this visit. Indoors, there are both traditional tables, booths, high tops, and bar seating. I can see this being a great place to go by yourself or with a larger group. Our group was 7 total people - four adults, and three smaller children, and we were accommodated with no issues. The people we were meeting beat us to the restaurant, so our table was ready to go upon arrival. It was not too busy at the time, so seating would have been no issue if you walked right in. The menu here is not extensive, but they do still have a variety of dishes and unique items to the restaurant. They also have a full bar, so there are many drink options to indulge in. There were appetizers, entrees, and even desserts. I also saw a sign for weekday lunch specials. Chips and salsa were complimentary, so our table enjoyed a few baskets of those before our main entrees came. We ordered the Grilled Mexican Street Corn as an appetizer also, which I really enjoyed! Anytime this is on the menu at a Mexican-type restaurant, I usually will order it. It was still on the cob, and it came with four halves. The kids at the table enjoyed an order of the Queso Blanco to accompany their chips! I personally ordered the Quesadilla Burger, as it seemed like a unique offering. It truly was sooo good! The Quesadilla "bun" was loaded with cheese and veggies, which paired so nicely with the burger. It was a great size too, and I only at half at the restaurant. It came with a side, for which I opted for the Mexican Corn. This was served off the cob, and was similar to the appetizer in taste and dress. As you might figure, I love Mexican Corn in any form, so this was great for me! The kids we were with enjoyed their entrees, so if you are looking for a good place to take kids this would be a nice spot. They also had milk for them to drink. The staff was accommodating to them as well, which is always a plus. Our service this day was wonderful! All of the food came out accurately and quickly. The waitress we had was top-notch! Her name is escaping me, but despite being pregnant she was stellar and a joy to talk to. I hope all of the staff here are as wonderful as she was to us! The prices here are fair. Some of the items I would say are a little more on the pricier side for what they are. Others, such as the Fajitas, I feel are rather cheap (comparably speaking to other places similar I have been). However, I would say the value is there. As stated, they also have lunch specials if you are looking to try it out for a few dollars less. I was extremely satisfied with my first experience trying Tortillas in Newberry! We visit the North Central Florida area at least once a year, and I would definitely dine here again on a future trip. I would recommend giving this spot a try if you are in the area, or have been thinking about stopping.

It was basically a rice and bean burrito. There were scant amounts of meat and tons of rice. There was literally an ounce of chicken and less than a gram of chorizo. I went with a large group and didn't want to be the guy that complained. I will never go back. Especially when there are so many authentic Mexican places with great food and reasonable prices. The chicken wings were super dry. The queso dip was runny and bland. The service was unattentive. My friend got the fajitas and complained they were small portions and dry.

Like crescent roll dough, the seams didn't always stay together, and mine seemed like it could have used an extra minute in the oven. It came with potato chips (Ruffles?) and I chose the fruit salad (mostly grapes, some pineapple and honeydew.) We started with the Hungarian Mushroom Soup (special of the day), which was excellent, very dark and with a lot of earthy flavor. It came with a piece of the same bread for dipping.

We went on the later side, and it wasn't busy at all. We placed a mobile order from the car, went inside, sat down, and within about five minutes our food was ready. We ordered the Mix & Match for $4.99, and with Flatiron, I think that's a pretty sweet deal. About $10 for a soup and sandwich? I'll take it! I got the Turkey Bravo with French onion soup, and everything was great. The sandwich was made fresh with nice, soft, fluffy bread. I also loved the French onion soup because Panera just makes the perfect version of it! My daughter got the "You Pick Three," which included a delicious Chicken Caesar salad sub, and she really enjoyed everything too. The staff was super nice, and I love that they offer little cups for free ice water. When I'm eating bread, water just hydrates you better. Maybe I'm just weird. Also, I always bring my soup bread home and toast it later with butter. Trust me on this one and thank me later! This would have been a five-star visit if the bathroom hadn't been out of soap and the tables had been wiped down just a little more. I know it was toward the end of the night, though, and I get it, the world is tired. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves, got a great meal for the price, and will definitely be back!

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can tell the kitchen puts a lot of care into every dish. The inside (and outside) of the café is so cute and well-done -- bright, welcoming, and full of charm. We sat at the back table by the glass wall and loved the view. BUT... the service was a letdown. It's a seat-yourself place, which is fine, but we only saw our waitress three times: 1 When she brought our drinks 2 When she took our order 3 When she delivered our food That was it. No refills, no check, no follow-up -- while other tables (mostly locals) were getting consistent attention. We watched others getting drink refills, to-go boxes, and their checks brought to them... while we sat waiting and eventually had to go find someone ourselves. It definitely gave off a "locals only" vibe, and sadly, we felt overlooked. It was especially disappointing because we really wanted to love this place -- and we almost did. The food is , the atmosphere is beautiful, but the service just didn't match the quality of everything else. Would I recommend it? Yes -- for the food. Just be prepared that if you're not a regular, the experience might feel a bit cold. Hopefully, they work on that, because the place has serious potential!
