Wasted 45 minutes driving to try their sushi. I really don't know why we stayed. Should've turned around as soon as walked in. Maybe they are trying, but you either are a sushi restaurant or not. The rice on sushi and hibachi dish was poorly cooked, if you could say it was cooked. Poorest excuse for sushi as I've ever seen. Markedly disappointed. Liquor license lapsed, also. The food and the atmosphere where great! The service was fairly good. It was a little cold in the building and the music could be a little quieter, you might have to talk a bit loud in order to get your voice to reach a cross the tables. read more

I stopped here for lunch when visiting Jackson. The service was awesome! And, even though the cook was a little inexperienced when preparing the Tobiko Sushimi (really was Masago), they more than made up for it by bringing me another serving! First-time guests get free Crab Rangoon! The Scorpion Roll is great if you want a no-rice, cucumber-wrapped roll of four different fish (raw, of course . . . Yum!). read more

Have you ever waited OVER an hour for your food to be served? It took well over an hour to get our food. Excuses, excuses. "We are short staffed," "We had a huge delivery order come in," "Your food will be out shortly." People who came in after us were getting their food! What's up with that concept? When the server brought out an order for a table that came in after us, I said somewhat under my breath that you have to be kidding me! She heard me say that and apologized and said that there were other tables who had been there an hour as well. Um, when other tables are getting their food, you are making half of your customers wait over an hour, something isn't right. Now, about the quality of the food. The 2 rolls I got were not good at all. How can you manage to mess up a California roll? Come on, now. I can't put my finger on a direct taste because it was just not really edible. The other roll I had was way too big, I had a hard time even eating it. I wasn't impressed with it, either. Needless to say, I will never step foot into that establishment again. read more

I've been here 2x in the first week of them opening and while everything I've had was very good...the "portions " of sushi that you get with their "higher priced" "headliner sushi rolls" allude to the false presumption that you will get plenty of sushi but once the order arrives at your table ..I was a little taken off guard by just a few sushi rolls when at another local sushi restaurant, I would get maybe 12-15 pcs of sushi but its only a FRACTION of that at Rock and Roll sushi. So...several sushi snob locals like myself who have eaten here are quietly musing over the pitiful sushi portions...but I will still eat here from time to time as the restaurant itself is a cool vibe. read more

The sushi exceeded our expectations! It was fresh and tasted great. for starters we had the Egg Rolls and Wontons (best Wontons I've ever had) as an entree we had the Michael Jackson, Beatles and Jimi Hendrix Rolls. Plus, our server Hayley was very attentive! The Rock-N-Roll themed decor offered a fun atmosphere and restaurant/restrooms were very clean. So if your looking for good sushi, it's a must! read more

Honestly agreeing reading some of the other reviews, the few that there are, I couldn't disagree more from their negative reviews. I have eaten here multiple times and have always had an enjoyable experience with atmosphere and service. For the food, I think it is wonderful. The sushi rolls are delicious as is the hibachi, some of the best. The sushi rolls might be slightly smaller than other places, but the quality and size seems to completely match the pricing. We started eating here at this franchise before it ever came to Jackson, and were extremely excited by its arrival. read more

I put in an order at 11am and was told my order would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. I waited over an hour for my order. I witnessed an employee take the rice out of my to go bag and give it to someone else causing me to wait longer. The food is always good but I am very disappointed in the service. read more

Starting off with a positive, the staff was friendly and helpful on the menu. Most rolls were focused on shrimp tempura and cream cheese, which is not in my preferred list of sushi. The rolls I did order (Green Day & Johnny cash) were bland & no flavor. Even the sauces on top didn't bring much to the meal. If you are looking for a decent sized meal, this is an ok place. Well we waited over an hour for our food order. The guy making sushi had his masked under his chin. Saw him carrying his sushi rolls to the kitchen with no gloves. Waitress even called him an asshole. We were sitting at the bar and heard her. Food wasn't good at all. I have eaten several times at the Memphis location and it's wonderful. Jackson could use some lessons from Memphis. My food came 20 minutes before my companion sushi roll. Just a bad experience overall. read more

My first visit to any of the multiple locations...1st impression walking in the door-- this place has a great Vibe with all the decor...Gorgeous Bar... 8 Beers on Tap! Not just the local usual suspects...but a nice mix of Micro Brews sure to compliment your menu choice...And a really generous "Happy Hour" offering deep discounts on Beer Mixed Drinks & Food...Enuf said-- I ordered the Sammy Hagar & The Van Halen...because you always have to make a comparison right? The Rolls were both Excellent...and since I'm not one that thinks more is always better...I was more than satisfied...Yes other places serve larger rolls...But Quality outweighs Quantity every time...Seriously... 3lbs of Crap is still Crap right? Very disappointed. We came for my daughters birthday. We got there just a bit after opening. The waitress first came over and announced that they were out of ice. She said that someone was on the phone and they wouldn't have any until they got off the phone. So, our drinks wouldn't have ice. We said that we preferred to have ice but it was okay. Then, she returned with menus and announced that if we wanted an appetizer, we were limited to a choice of 2 items because the others had not been prepped yet. We did order one of the two available. Between receiving our drinks and appetizers, someone walked through the front door carrying several bags of ice. We did not get any ice brought to us. When ordering our meals, I ordered from the hibachi. The menu clearly states that it comes with a soup and a salad. According to our server it only comes with one or the other. I showed her on the menu where it says "and". She then explained that we were given the old menus. And no one knows where the new ones are so they are using the old ones until they can find the new ones. The soup/salad issue wouldn't really be a big deal except I'm paying $20 for a lunch. Both of my daughters ordered sushi. One of the plates looked exactly how you would expect a sushi roll to look. The other one had 4 pieces of sushi laid flat on the plate so that it looked like it was more than it actually was. 4 pieces of sushi should not cost $15. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. I sincerely hope that this was just an isolated bad day. I edited this because I realized that I forgot to mention my trip to the restroom. We got there just after opening. We were probably the first customers of the day. When I went to the restroom, it appeared that it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The trash cans were overflowing with garbage. This should absolutely be addressed at the end of every day and several times throughout each day. Clearly someone failed to clean the restrooms. I went to the fair last night. The restroom at the fairgrounds was cleaner than the restroom at this restaurant. read more

This place was AWFUL! We came in on Valentine's Day. The decor was nothing to write home about, especially for a new restaurant, and there was lots of empty space and nail holes in the walls. They weren't that crowded, but the waitresses got our orders and everyone else's orders wrong. They forgot to put food in, food came out at the wrong times, and they seemed to forget who had which table. There were 4 different servers who came to take our drink order, take our food order, bring our (incorrect) food, take our correct order again, bring dessert, etc. It was almost never the same person twice and we couldn't figure out which one was actually our server. Both my boyfriend and I have worked as servers and we couldn't believe how crazily disorganized everything was. The food: not good. The Bang Bang Shrimp were weird, the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Roll--which had an ingredient list that should have made it terrific--was bland and dry. They give you a microdose of unbloomed wasabi, and when you ask for more, you get another tiny dot. The hibachi chicken was passable, but the fried rice tasted like margarine. The worst part was the "fried brownie" they served us for dessert. We were given a cold, hard Little Debbie-cake style brownie. It was not fried, and when the waitress asked the kitchen about it, they said it could be served "either way." So why does it say it's fried and have a picture of a fried brownie on the menu? It was so awful, and we were laughing so much by this point, that they noticed our faces when we tried the brownie. We were done. We told them nicely that it was awful and they took $3.50 off our check. Thanks guys. This was the worst Valentine's meal ever. I'll start off with saying the ambience of the place is great and the food is good. That said, I placed an order for take out and waited over an hour for my food to come out. For how much we paid I would expect to receive our food in a reasonable time frame as it was not a busy night. After it was all said and done I looked on Yelp and saw plenty of other people with the same problems so it clear they haven't fixed their restaurant.
