Asahi is my go-to when it comes to both sushi and hibachi. The hibachi chefs are always good and the food from hibachi is always good. As far as the sushi goes I think it's the best in Jackson. The drinks are good and the service is okay as well. This is a good place for a date night or if you want to bring your family. read more

The service was absolutely stupendous the chef even though I was there all by myself made me feel welcome and comfortable he also performed several fire shows while preparing my food. The food was beyond excellent I suggest a group of people going to really get the full effect of the show but the food was beyond excellent price was it was not very expensive I spent $17 for my food but the chef was so good I gave him a $10 tip well worth the money good place to have a party or just go watch the game and have some sushi and a drink I will definitely be back again read more

This is a bustling place and looks to be a favorite among the college students considering the huge individual plates of fried rice at their tables. We stopped by for lunch and I ordered a bento box of Yakiniku beef, tempura vegetables, half California roll, and steamed rice. It was DELICIOUS and the tempura was light and crispy! Also ordered salmon sashimi which was perfect! Husband ordered an assortment of nigiri and maki rolls which were absolutely mouthwatering deliciousness! The staff is friendly and attentive. Decor is nice with an Asian flair of course and the place is clean. This will be our go to place when we're in town for sure! read more

This place is right next to my hotel so I gave it a try. The bar area is a little odd, with a few couches for people to dine on? I don't know. The staff is friendly, and I was quickly seated and waited on. The food was above average but not anything special. The portion sizes were reasonable. Went here expecting some semi-decent Japanese food, and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Yakiniku because I usually enjoy it, and it was very good! They could've sliced it better cause I would not call that "thinly sliced" like it normally is, but either way it tasted great. One thing you need to remember about these kind of places is that everything will be more expensive then normal because you're also paying for the experience of them cooking it in front of you, which the cooks were very skilled at. Though the tricks and skills they used are normal ones you'd see at any other place like this. Another thing to note is that basically everything is 18% more expensive if you have a party of 8 or more. With all this extra cost tagged on though, was it worth it? Well, I would say yes, the price was fair. A tiny bit expensive but I would say it still falls under the realm of fair. I recommend eating here if you're passing through or want to have a nice dinner with friends. Though definitely look at the menu prices before deciding on here. read more

This was our first time here. We moved here in August of 19. We are from Chicago, and our to go to Japanese steakhouse was called Domo 77 which was always delicious. Here I ordered the tempura shrimp and calamari and vegetables. The shrimp and vegetables were done correctly, but the calamari was a little rubbery. I then ordered the filet and scallops, the filet medium rare. The scallops were perfect, the steak was overdone and chewy. I am wondering if it really was a filet mignon or a filet of sirloin. My husband ordered the New York strip and shrimp and lobster tail. His steak was not medium rare but almost raw, the shrimp were perfect, the lobster was rubbery. For the amount of money that is spent at a Japanese steakhouse, I am disappointed. Will not be spending any more money here. Not when it is apparently hit or miss. read more

So disappointed . Went to get food pick up at the bar - Staying at the hotel across the street. While I was ordering a young group of 20's came in and were seated. I sat and listened to their waiter complain that only 3 of the 8 ordered from the hibachi - he wasn't going to take care of them. I asked him a few minutes later what he meant and he elaborated on what crap they were .... the young manager was there and listened - said nothing. I paid for this young table - I said something like God is good and be kind .... he went off That I should not "cuss" at him (what???) and quote God. I'm in town for business and decide to splurge on sushi. The restaurant itself seems to be a very nice and had several different opinions (Bar,Hibachi and sushi). I choose to sit at the bar and watch the world series game. The bar sits directly through the front entrance and had both walls lined with massive leather seats, probably a nice place to relax and socialize during a busier night. The menu seemed to have a vast amount of options, I chose sushi as I mentioned before. I ordered the Lobster roll, I usually order 2 or 3 rolls at a time when eating sushi....Thankfully I didn't! The Lobster roll was massive! It was a good 12-15 slices on the plate with a beautiful presentation. Would definitely return if I was a local. read more

HORRIBLE. Overpriced, long wait for an empty restaurant and the sushi was so poorly rolled that it just falls apart all over your plate. The spicy tuna roll tasted like I licked the bottom of a sewage filled ocean floor. We are traveling through and thought it'd be nice to stretch our legs and get something decent but wasn't worth the stop. I couldn't even finish my food. My kids really enjoy the hibachi and the great jobs the chefs do at entertaining while preparing the meal. They will even cut the kids meat into smaller bites, upon request. Food is really good, I only wish the steak was more tender. The Sushi rolls we have tried have all been pretty good. Walked in the door and there was no one there to greet me. After several minutes a man greeted me and I stated I needed a table for one. He needed to go back and check as a party of 10 was behind me and had a reservation so he needed to seat them first. He went back and checked and there was a 40 minute wait for a seat. There were at least 5 open tables and plenty of room for one but I guess I wasn't important enough. So here I am at the Texas Road house. Walked in around 8 on a Friday night. There were 3 people at the hostess station and it took over a min for anyone to even acknowledge me. I was handed a menu and sent to the bar since I was alone. After sitting there for several minutes with no one taking time to come over, the manager saw me and stopped by to clean a spot. He also got a water for me. After another 10 min or so with no one stopping to get my order, I got up and went to find my own table. It was only then that a waitress came over and took my order. After that, I ate and left and The food wasn't worth the wait. Maybe everyone was ready to get off, maybe one person wasn't worth their time, I don't know, but I won't be back to find out. read more
