My wife and I went here for a date night. We hadn't had sushi since moving to Florida and figured we would try someplace local. The atmosphere of this place is awesome. They have music videos playing rock from the classics through the 90s with decoration to match. We ordered several of the rolls and were more than satisfied with our decision on sushi. The most interesting one was the VIP roll, which had Cajun-seasoned crawfish in it for a unique twist. I also ordered the hibachi chicken, which was decent, but I would have rather had another sushi roll in hindsight. Definitely give this place a try. I will start by saying- this place has great aesthetics and great ambiance. Service was great, the food not so much. The menu was fun but the items didn't deliver. If your expectations are low and you enjoy a lot of fried sushi- this might be the place for you. We ordered drinks & an appetizer while waiting for the rest of our food to go. Drink selection is very minimal. Only beer & wine. They have champagne, no mimosas (even though my receipt said mimosa). We got the crispy wontons & although they had a nice crunch and crispness to them, hardly any krabmeat inside (mostly cream cheese). Skip the wontons in my opinion. We ordered 4 different rolls and they crammed them all into 1 box, no wasabi or ginger- a let down. The rolls we had weren't very fresh, and the eel roll consisted of mostly rice (could barely taste any rice). All in all just skip the sushi unless your thing is the fried stuff. There aren't many dining options in this area so I would give them another shot IF I was in this area again. read more

I will give this place 2 stars because quite frankly, I love rock and roll, but not this location. you can taste a difference in the food, i know it sounds cheesy, but this place is not made with love. With a lack of poor management, this place was not attentive and understaffed, and you can tell with the atmosphere and the quality of the food. I went in (9/20) and there was one very sweet curly black headed girl behind the counter and she seemed to be doing everything. She was the only one in sight and she was running around like crazy but you could tell she was trying to keep up with her job. I waited for about 30 minutes for my michael jackson roll (which is usually VERY good at the 1531 E Nine Mile Rd location) but it was soggy and took very long to come out. The girl apologized for my wait and told me that she was dealing with phone calls and basically the whole restaurant by herself -- and for that i tipped her very well because of the way she was composing herself. I've noticed from the past few reviews that the Manager is commenting on all the nasty reviews exclaiming that this girl was not doing her job, but as of 9/20 she exceed expectations for being the only employee staffed at dinner rush. Management needs to stop pointing blame at their employees and instead fix the problem by staffing more people during busier hours. I do not know Vivian, but if you're reading this i'm sorry you got so publicly shamed for doing your job diligently! You are AWESOME!!! Do better management. read more

We door dashed dinner tonight from here. We love hibachi and wanted to try a new place since we just moved here. We got 2 kids meals one with chicken, one with steak, both with rice. Meat was decent, the rice was awful, and the white sauce, maybe called "Yum Yum" sauce? tasted like they just added some milk to mayonnaise to make it runny, very bitter. We were disappointed that we didn't enjoy our food considering we ordered an extra side of rice and also an order of vegetables. The vegetables had zero flavor even though there was some kind of juice in the bottom of the to-go box, unfortunately the white sauce that's given with the meals we couldn't dip our vegetables in since it was so horrible. I don't think we will ever order from here again. Some say eating inside a restaurant instead of to-go is better, but with the taste of our meal I don't think going in to eat would be any better! read more

Bad first experience, made an already horrible day so much worse. My best friend my dog passed away today. Having spent all day at dealing with that all day I did not have any chance to eat anything today. We decided to try R&R sushi as it next to our apartment. Placed order inside at 6:07PM and I sat there sat waiting and waiting watching other new tables fill up and get served first. Then when I saw take out food placed on counter I asked as it must be mine but I was completely forgotten. After waiting for near 1 hr and my order was not started yet I just asked for refund as shown on the receipt voided at 6:57PM. They did apologize and said it won't happen next time but obviously I'm not going to try my luck a second time. We ended up walking next door and bought sushi from Publix. read more

I ordered 5 rolls, 2 ginger salads and an appetizer sampler. When I initially made the call, the woman that answered kept putting me on hold and after 10min, finally took my order. She kept complaining that she was all by herself and repeatedly told me she didn't know the menu. When I went to go pick up my order, she said it was $84.50 so I swiped my card and she gave me the food. While in my car, she ran out after me saying, "I made a big mistake! I rang up your order as $27.69. I rang up someone else's order and charged you for it" . Being the honest person I am, I did the right thing by going inside and paying for my meal. She had to call someone to help her void the initial mischarge. When I got home, we sat down to eat our food, only to discover how disgusting it was. We each had a bite or two and were completely turned off. The food tasted absolutely horrible! Threw out $85 worth of good. This was the first and last time I will be going to Rock n Roll Sushi in Beulah, or any location for that matter. In order to better improve the quality and service at this location, I suggest making sure all employees are properly trained and that you have adequate staffing on all shifts, regardless if it's a Tuesday evening where things are expected to be slower. read more

There should be no reason I sat at the table for more than 5 mins without anyone asking me for my drink order and then no one coming to ensure our food came out alright, given the entree came out before the appetizer smh. I found Rock n Roll Sushi atmosphere fun, music good, decorated nicely. The waiter was helpful, nice, and enlisted information from the sushi maker. The sushi chef designed a sushi roll for my taste. As I like things spicy particularly the spice of Jalapeños. He spiced up the Cajun crawfish sushi roll for me, it was delicious. I will say I was eating lunch/dinner at 2:40 pm and was the only one in the restaurant at the time. I have eaten at this restaurant several times and every time at off hours and have found them very accommodating. This place is an absolute let down. I was stoked to have a sushi place open near my home. Now, I wish it was something else. Service is slow and severely lacking. You can tell there is no training of staff. Speaking of training, it is guaranteed the sushi chefs aren't trained much either. The sushi is overpriced and mediocre. The hibachi is decent tasting but priced through the roof for what you get. The ambiance is also horrible. They have the same generic songs on a loop, so if you stay a tad too long your ears may bleed from exposure to cliche rock music. Rock n Roll sushi is the definition of great idea horrible execution. Save your money, go elsewhere for better sushi. Oh, and before you think about coming in to place a to-go order, do note that they automatically charge you 18% gratuity. For handing you your food. I love this place. First what I have to say is atmosphere in restaurant fantastic. I came 9:20 pm after hard crazy day in dirty clothes and waitresses treated me as a King. They speak very nicely and smile, Planning to leave good tip for that. Miso soup I got immediately which is perfect after hard work and while I was waiting for my food I enjoyed great music. Bathroom are clean and all over I found pretty clean and I would say everything is NEW. Ate with friends Sunday night and could barely hear each other above the music. Friends ordered edamame and it came still very cold, out of freezer, so after they ate 3 or 4 and it was unpleasant he asked waitress to take them away. She offered to microwave but friends declined. We'll, waitress had added them to our bill, not our friends bill so we ended up paying for them and did not see this until next day, looking over our bill! Our friends meanwhile believed waitress had taken them off their bill. No one is happy now. Except maybe me as my Volcano roll was excellent and indeed all our rolls were.
