We went on a Friday to hear a great band, unfortunately we did not eat there. I saw customers eating some appealing food and by the look on their faces, they were enjoying their meals. Our focus was the bar and the band that night. The bartenders at the bar (facing the parking lot and up a few stairs) were fabulous! My friend ordered a sweet mixed drink telling the bartender "surprise me" hoping for the best. And it was the best cocktail she has had in recent memory! She complimented the bartender and he was very pleased that she liked it. I'm an easy drinker...I drink Chardonnay! The bartenders were quick and calm serving multiple guests at a time. Seamless! The menu is versatile and friendly for those with dietary restrictions. As a pescatarian, I enjoyed the lobster taco and hulk (fried avocado) taco as a fun change to the standard bean and cheese options at many other Mexican restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful, and even brought a water bowl for my dog (yes, their outdoor seating is dog friendly!). This is a pretty casual restaurant located in downtown Roswell. My friends and I came here on Saturday night for dinner around 7:30. When we walked in, the hostess took down our name to put on a waiting list. Their computer system had not been set up yet, so they came to get us once our table was ready. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to be seated. While we waited to be seated we ordered drinks from the bar. I just got their house margarita, and I have to say it was pretty underwhelming. It was pretty watered down and not a lot of taste. I'll stick with beer if I come back. There was a ton of seating inside and it's a very open layout which I like. What I didn't like was that there was a random room off to the side that seemed to be a little more upscale than the rest of the restaurant. We were seated in that room, and it felt like we had to be much more quiet and reserved. I wish the entire restaurant had the same vibe. Once we were seated it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to take our orders. I know it was opening weekend and they were super busy, but I feel that 15 minutes is too long to wait to be served. Once our waitress showed up she was super friendly and provided good service. There was one mix up with the food - my friend ended up getting someone else's meal from another table that she thought was hers. For my food I ordered the El Gringo and Cali taco. The El Gringo is a fajita style taco and the Cali is a fish taco. Both were good, but not great. It was about $8 total for both tacos. The food was alright and I really liked the atmosphere of the larger part of the restaurant, but their drinks weren't great and I got an overwhelming sense that they were pretty unprepared. I know it was opening weekend, so I will give it another shot once they've worked out the kinks. read more

Generally, I hate writing negative reviews but when I'm pushed to the limit, something MUST be said. It was Super Bowl LVIII and the SECOND they gave us the menu our waiter (blond young fella-the main one there I think) asked us what we wanted to eat! We just got the menu dude...maybe ask for drinks first? Then he got us watery fountain coke that tasted like sugar water. And when my mom brought it up after the 2nd round, he got all pissed and scoffed "why didn't you say something before" and rolled his eyes. He came back and gave me another (watery) soda and didn't give my mom!! The table directly in front of us was the "owners" table and they were undisciplined and rudely encroaching on our space to the point where the waiter bumps into us several times (without apologizing) to get to them, and he starts socializing/laughing with them while blocking our view with no care in the world. Then the wings came super cold like they were left out for a while with barely any sauce on them. The nachos and tacos were also cold and the meat in them tasted horrible! Just DISGUSTING! We decide to leave during halftime because we would rather watch at home, and when we paid we left a 6% tip because the service was trash/rude. We would leave a 0% tip but we wanted to leave something for the busboys (it's not their fault the waiter is completely rude/incompetent). Then the waiter aggressively approached our table with a super entitled attitude and was literally breathing down my mother's neck scolding us for leaving a small tip. He kept arguing that his service couldn't possibly be bad. Dude is seriously MESSED UP in the head. I am within my rights not to leave any tips for bad service, but we left another 10 dollars on the table to shut him up and prevent him from making a major scene. What a despicable person he is, I'm sure he kept the cash tip all to himself without reporting it, greedy wacko. This is a really fun place we frequent for the music! We love all the bands! We went last night only to discover a totally new menu. Very disappointed. Our young server claimed they were trying to be more authentic Mexican. Whoever came up with this menu has never been to Mexico. Real Mexican food does not contain quesadillas, nachos, chicken fingers, deep fried tacos etc. But we gave it a try. The chicken nachos were not bad, the deep fried tacos (the only way you can get them now) - no thanks. Way too greasy and couldn't even detect what kind they were. All you could hear were the drums. I still enjoyed the music, but idk what happened. I had food this time and it is not good. Seemed like fake cheese...Velveeta or something. It's hard to mess up nachos, but they figured out how. Service was ok, nothing wrong. The big Ipads are a little weird but that's not the waiter's fault. Blah. I don't get the reviews here. I've been to the one in Sandy Springs, and was happy to see them downtown Roswell after a long hike. We were hungry, and decided to come in here. First of all, the music is way way too loud. It's cool to have live music, but I don't like having to struggle to hear my boyfriend and child next to me. Our server was really nice, but the food service was slow. They have lots and lots of TVs which would have been great if there was something interesting to watch. Football season would be a good time to come here. So my boyfriend got fajitas, I got the chicken plate, and my daughter got the cheese quesadillas and fries. None of us really liked the meals. The quesadillas were super bland with barely any cheese, my chicken was way overcooked and dry, and the veggies could have used better reasoning. Every time we go Mexican my boyfriend always says it's not as good as such and such place in Duluth, so I swear we have to get over there soon. I was really disappointed in the food, and would not come back here anytime soon. I'm glad to see they are following COVID protocol, as we were seated far from others and everyone wore masks, however I can't say these reasons are enough to come back here. read more

Had lunch here with a friend and we loved everything!! The tres amigos happy hour dip trio (only $6) was so good and the guacamole was super fresh tasting. We also split a taco salad and agreed it was the best taco salad we have has. For tacos we shared the Gringo, Eye of the Tiger, the Hulk, and the Lobster taco. They were all delicious but our favorite was by far The Hulk, it was such an interesting flavor combination! Our bartender was Sam and he was so attentive and friendly. The food was very good this time. The service was better than the first time and that's saying a lot because the first time it was pretty solid. I didn't tell the staff I had been there before and previously had a disappointing food experience. So, now they put it all together for a real Rockin Taco! Love this place, went there almost every week, very good food! But, there has been a recent change that we noticed- we have been ordering the same fajitas for a while and they are fantastic, but now no longer come with rice and beans like they used to. I was a little disappointed when it came out without any type of carb (rice or beans) . The waiter kindly explained to us that management no longer included that as part of the fajitas meal. I think instead of removing that as part of the order, perhaps, there maybe a dollar or two price hike. I think paying 1-2$ more for an excellent, complete meal would give a customer more satisfaction than having a cheaper, partial meal. read more

Rock N Taco is, as the name suggests, a new Tex-Mx restaurant in downtown Roswell. The restaurant is located in Pesties (spelling? It was an Italian place). It has a modern look, with exposed brick and plenty of tvs. The drink menu looks pretty solid, although I didn't have any when I was there. The chips, queso and salsa were all very good. And with tacos ranging from lobster to brisket to chicken there is sure to be one you'll Lloyd. Oh, and the music is pretty cool too. read more

My wife and I went to Rock N Taco the weekend it opened so everything that I am about to say should be kept in the context of the complications and chaos that can come with a restaurant opening weekend! I will start on a positive note and say that the atmosphere is awesome in the main dining space. There were tons of people and plenty of space to join one of the bars for a drink as you wait for a table. Unfortunately, our experience at Rock N Taco was pretty poor. It started as we were told our wait time would be around 40 minutes and we waited for almost twice that before we were seated. We expected to be sat in the main dining space but were placed in a side room which I still do not quite understand. While the main area has a ton of TVs and two bars which create a great atmosphere, there is a side room that feels like you are sitting in a fancy restaurant. These rooms are about two feet from one another and it just feels...well strange. These two things combined did not set a positive tone for the entire experience. Once we sat down our waitress was extremely kind and observant. She took care of us and made sure that everything was great, but the food took almost another hour and was average at best. I wasn't expecting the food to be incredible as most sports bars offer a place to grab a drink, watch a game and then eat some food as needed, but out of the tacos and fajitas that we ordered I would give them 3/5 stars at best. It lacked flavor and was honestly something I could have made better at home. If I can make the food better at home, I am rarely going to think my time out was well spent. Will we be back? Probably. I hope to come back and have a better experience because it adds a cool atmosphere at the end of Canton Street. Do I think the food will be any better after my first experience? So, typical corner Tex Mex Bar. Let's talk about location. Downtown Roswell walkable strip...according to my significant other who is born and raised Roswell kid...the place used to be a Ford dealership back in the day. The parking lot was very crowded, thank goodness I have a small car to get around all them trucks!! Parking is a challenge, pay $5 to park in any parking lot in the area. I am in the wrong business. Parking lots seems to be the money maker...lol Let's talk about ambience...the place is fairly spacious but there are so many tables squished into each little nook and cranny...it feels like you are sitting in each other's laps. I could hear the family behind me talking about their most recent family vacation...I'm a little jealous...they went to Disney!! Ok, so definitely not a too of a fancy place...Menu was on a clipboard...cute! Not very sanitary, I think I found a dried booger on one of my sheets of un-laminated paper. It's ok, I have seen worse. Bathrooms they were clean but of course when you have a brewing company next door..things can get rank in the bathroom. As long as you read the sign leaving the bathroom you will understand that it wasn't the lady that just left the didn't blow it up...phew. I was a little worried. Aaahh last but not least the food. Typical, nothing to write home about but digestible. My Taco's were a little cold when they arrived but I ate them anyway. Hunger was taking the wheel. The guac was pretty tasty. My daughter ordered the wings, extra crispy and tore them up. (look at the pics) I think my favorite thing was the cool glass bottles of cold tap water they brought to the table when the waiter introduced himself. (Maybe the water was filtered, it tasted like really clean water) The finale...the cool way they enter your order...each waiter carries an iPad and takes your order at the table, like normal, but the moment your done the order has been placed...sweet deal! The cost was a typical Tex Mex $60 for 3 people, with no beer or spirits. Worth the experience, sure...decent place all around, yes. Will I go back? This has been a place for us regulars in East Cobb however after this evening we will NEVER be back. Not sure where they're recruiting their bartenders but I find it hard to believe what they have is the best they can do. We finally received drinks initially after 20 minutes and then after 30 minutes for the 2nd I asked why I wasn't being served only to have security called. Mind you I was not rude or drunk ( only 3 drinks in 4 hours) Everyone at the bar was commenting on the poor service and rudeness of the bartender. None of us regulars and there are a lot of us found this acceptable and we will find a new place to spend our money! As a manager I completely appreciate defending your employees however I assure you there is a problem when the entire bar is discussing the poor service and rudeness of your bartender.
