It's been years since we've been here to see the changes: all for the better! We had a hike along the Chattahoochee which wrapped up in time for lunch. There were four in our party and we scored a curved booth just inside the door for seating. Our server Gaarvan greeted us right away and brought our waters while we perused the adult beverage options. We go for the PBR or Genesee Cream Ale for old times sakes. When Gaarvan returned he also took our food order as we settled in. Quick return with beverages and rapid delivery of our burgers after that. My wife selected the Chihuahua and my choice was the Retriever (both subbing the black Bean burger). Together these two meals were $47 including tax, CC fee, and tip Our goal for today was half here and the other half during halftime during the NFL halftime later today. This place always hits whenever we visit! We split some veggie nachos with a house salad. The house salads are HUGE for the price! I wish the cheese on the nachos could be poured evenly instead of always at the bottom of the plate but it's still pretty delicious. Stopped in for lunch with my husband as kind of a we don't know where to go and all our usual places are not appealing at all. I've been to Lucky's burger and brew in Roswell before and we've eaten at Lucky's Burger and brew on the Marietta Square. I think it's the food hall. Anyway, he got a Philly because he really wanted a Philly cheesesteak and I got a Caesar salad and sweet potato fries. Service was super friendly and even though it was not that busy everyone's seemed to be attentive to their tables and not just hanging out waiting around. That Caesar salad was delicious, but the brie croutons were the best idea in the whole wide world. Only to be topped by the blue cheese dip with a sweet potato fries. I don't know why I never thought of putting that together, but it was absolutely wonderful. My husband's Philly looked delicious, but I couldn't eat a single bite more after my salad and fries so didn't get to try it. Went went on a Saturday for lunch and it was packed, even the patio with outdoor seating was so loud you couldn't hear each other at the table. Once it calmed down, it was much more enjoyable, so just keep in mind if you go at busy times the noise carries. Our server was kind, but rushed us from the moment we sat down. Two people in our party had to go orders they requested to be put in later. She put them in the second our food hit the table so their togos came out before we were even halfway done eating. I've always liked Lucky's but today they went above and beyond and it made such a difference! I was dealing a toddler having a meltdown and I was so embarrassed. I asked for the check and a box so I could high-tail it out of there. As I was about to leave, a lovely woman walked up to me and said "do you want to stay? I'm Lucky's mom. Let me get you some ice cream." So she went to the back and our server brought out some ice cream. After that, my daughter calmed down and ate her food. Our server asked how old she was and related to me by saying he has a 4-year-old. Everyone was so kind and made me feel so welcome. Great Friday night experience! Never tried this place before but will definitely be back. We were easily able to get a table for 8 around 5:30 on a Friday night. Service was super quick which was great as we were trying to make a 7pm show. We had 5 kids who were all able to find something they liked on the menu. I tried the chihuahua burger with onion rings. Burger was great and cooked perfectly. But the best part for me was the thin, crispy onion rings and the dipping sauce! Definitely will go back just for those o'rings! I found this place in the middle of the pandemic when I was starving and didn't want to sit inside a restaurant. Since then, I have been back multiple times, brought friends, framily, and family, and even ordered via door dash. Why? I like "burgers" but don't eat beef. Their turkey burgers are terrific and the burger combinations are funky, fun, and quite tasty. I also appreciate that every single burger has an option as to what type of meat you would like for you "burger". And the non-beef option isn't just a beef tasting soy concoction. Thank you Lucky's!! My family and I rarely take a new restaurant risk mid week, especially during the hangry witching hour. Mom wanted a salad and glass of wine, the husband and kid wanted good burgers. Quick yelp search reminded me of Lucky's and we went on a whim. The hostess and crew couldn't have been more welcoming, RARE in this day and age and a great first sign. Then our waitress, Rachel, gave more care and consideration to our table than most servers put in to their entire work week. She was kind, fun, engaging and on point. When she realized at the very end that it was our first time, and how next time we wanted to dive into their epic desserts- she surprised us with the dessert burger, to go! Back in my hospitality days, this was the kind of server that I'd pay good money for and I hope the owners realize what great people they have on their team. I have always loved Lucky's. The staff is exceptional and the food always good, but it has changed. Yesterday we had; 1 chicken Caesar, 2 burgers, 2 waters, and 1 Bud. The bill was $60 after my 20% tip. The portions are definitely smaller and this price is a heck of a lot more than in the past. Also, what is the 2.8% "special fee" now added to my bill (I hadn't decided yet to pay cash or cc). Sorry, but the impact of Covid is over and inflation does not justify this hefty price increase. Loved our visit to Lucky's. The restaurant is adorably decorated with dog items and photos of the owners' dog Lucky. They have great outdoor seating options that includes space to bring your dog. The food was delicious. We got lemon pepper wings as an appetizer and they were honestly the best wings I've been able to find in Georgia since moving to Alpharetta 5 years ago. Quality meat and a great size for each of the wings, they were cooked with a slight crisp on the outside which is my preference compared to the soggy way many others serve them. Cannot wait to go back and try their Buffalo wings as I expect they're just as good. For my entree I tried their new Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was good overall; however, the honey portion was all piled on in one spot in a thick glob, resulting in an overwhelming amount of honey in that portion of the sandwich. I'm terms of Nashville hot sandwiches, not the best I've had, but it was still a decent sandwich with high quality meat. We've had many different menu items! I like to start with a basket of sweet potato fries ($4). They are delicious!! My favorite sandwich is the French Poodle Chicken Sandwich.
