    Anime soda cans

What a fun shop filled with gourmet and vintage/hard to find sodas, candies, and gifts! They have my favorite childhood seltzer - New York Seltzer (which I had to get because nostalgia and memories as a child with my Dad)! I loved getting to look at all the brands they had and the variety of candies they have too. The vintage metal signs are fun to look at too. There is just a lot for my senses though, probably due to a high volume of people being there for All Star weekend, but a fun shop to go check out.

Get ready to throw back to your childhood. This place has all the sodas and candy that you grew up with-regardless of your age. Don't worry, they also have a respectable variety of current treats as well. You can fill a bag from candy bins and pay a flat rate depending on the size of the bag. I wish they had penny candies. (Bulk candy like sour gummies) But the majority of the bulk candy is taffy. Fun place to go walk down memory lane and satisfy your sweetest tooth!

Very good selection of vintage candy. They have a good variety if you are looking or multiple gifts for others this is a good stop. Would've given it 5 stars, but the guy helping was not friendly or helpful whatsoever. Other than that, I definitely plan to return to bring back others when visiting.

Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth! Lots of variety and things I haven't seen before, great place to take the kids if you don't mind them eating lots of sugar. They had a big selection on salt water taffy!!! Yummmmm! Also had cute little knickknacks, and many types of soda pop. One thing is for sure, I am definitely going for some more salt water taffy!

Great experience. Large selection of different sodas and candies. I found some candy that I had been looking for.

    a sign in the window

We showed up when they claimed to be open in the early afternoon. Sign on door said "back in 30" we waited and waited with no success. What a joke! We are extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. This honestly ruined my entire trip to Salt Lake City. The fact that this business remains open is a mystery. Take your business elsewhere!

Unique, knowledgeable, and massive variety. If you enjoy soda or candy you cannot miss this place. I don't think I've ever seen a store with more variety of sodas or candy in my life. The employee who helped me has worked here for several years and knew every single item in their store. It made the experience much more enjoyable. Sodas: if you're looking for a root beer with licorice essence or a root beer sweetened by honey or wanting to try something similar to Harry Potter's butter beer, or if you're crazy enough to try the bacon soda, you came to the right place! Chocolate: these guys have an incredible selection of European chocolate. Everything from Kinder in Germany to the Australian violet crumble and so forth. They even have some designer chocolates made here in the US that are pretty unique. Candy: I've never seen a wider assortment of salt water taffy in my life. They had flavors I never would've suspected like mango, watermelon, etc. They also have some rare, older brands of candy that they used to make in the 1950s that are hard to find now.

I honestly can't remember a visit when we weren't personally greeted by the owner or one of the managers. The service is always warm and welcoming, and the whole place has such a fun atmosphere. They often have live music, and we've even visited when they had magicians entertaining the kids! Of course, the chocolate is absolutely fantastic. The hot chocolate is to die for, the frozen hot chocolate is amazing, and the Karamel Malone Krispies are so good that we send them to family every Christmas. Whenever anyone comes to visit us from out of town, this is one of the first places we take them. Wonderful chocolate, great service, and a true local gem. Absolutely a 10/10 recommendation!

There's a craft counter, a chocolate counter, and an ice cream counter, and no clear lines or what not. At first glance, it's not immediately obvious where to focus your attention, so I went with the ice cream for here and took the chocolates walking. The owner was out on the floor chatting with customers, which gave the place a welcoming and local feel. It was nice. A few times I hovered close to him and tried to find an opening to ask him some questions about the products, but he was busy with other guests. As for the history of the business, there are enough newspaper clippings and articles on the walls to keep anyone occupied while waiting. Most of the staff appeared to be high school- or younger college-aged employees handling the day-to-day operations. The ice cream isn't made in-house (it's Farr's brand), so this review is more about the experience than the product itself. The serving size was fair, and I opted for the spumoni. Yes, really, spumoni. Three other people in our group between their twenties and forties had never even heard of the flavor before. The ice cream is scooped from a mixed single barrel rather than barrel with separated sections, so the chocolate, pistachio, and cherry had blended together. It was kind of like putting different sodas into the same cup. While I enjoy ice cream and these flavors, others might not think the same. The standout items for me were the chocolates. The bourbon chocolate came with a huge flavor punch. It was rich, bold, and intense enough that I needed a break and a glass of water afterward. It's not for the faint of heart and you need to be serious about chocolates to have an appreciation for this one. The marzipan, on the other hand, was a perfect follow-up. Not to sweet, balanced, and a very nice almond flavor. It was delicious and served as a nice palate refresher after the bourbon's performance. Between the chocolates and the owner's visible presence this was an enjoyable stop. The chocolates were easily the stars of the visit and worth it if you're in the area.

Whether…read moreyou are into candy, fudge, soda, caramel apples, cotton candy or ice cream-this place has it. The selection is rather impressive. Candy takes most of us back to our childhood, so it's appropriate that the theme here is "retro." Along with candy from yesteryear, there are cool vintage looking signs and knick knacks for collectors. There are also tons of glass bottles of soda-the kind that you probably grew up drinking, or wish you had. Leatherby's ice cream (arguably the best out there) is served here as well. Want chocolate? Yup, plenty of decadent chocolates as well as a mouth-watering assortment of caramel apples. Really, there's something for everyone. If you don't find something here that you like, I would really question your level of contentment in life. I docked a star for a couple things. First, the location is tricky to get to. There's no direct access from the road, you have to maneuver around the building and enter from the side opposite the main road. It appears that another entrance is planned, but a temporary concrete barrier prevents it from being used until it's fully developed. So that's a challenge-one that will be resolved as the area grows and fills in. The other challenge was the customer service. There were two young ladies working there and neither of them greeting us when we entered. (It's a small enough space, and we were the only customers. It just felt awkward to walk in and start browsing while she just watched us.) When we checked out, I attempted friendly small talk and it fell flat. She wasn't rude, just not the friendly personality I'd hope to find in a local, small business. Otherwise, it's a great place and I'm sure my sweet tooth will guide me back again!

Great chocolate! Nice tour…read more We took the tour, then bought a bunch of chocolate! The tour really isn't much, don't get your expectations up, but it was interesting and informative. Definitely worth the $5.07/person inexpensive fee. Then you get a $4 voucher to use on your purchases that day. Plus you can combine two of them together for $8! So there were three stops, the first two were windows into the factory itself. There were video presentations at each of these two stops. Very interesting. You get a sample at each of these stops. Yum. The third stop was at the ice cream where you also got a sample. Everyone is cheery and friendly. The chocolate is absolutely delicious. I usually don't go for peanut clusters but I am going to go back and buy a box full of just peanut clusters because these were exceptional. The peanuts were not old and stale but freshly roasted just right. So good! I also really like their salted caramels with just the right amount of salt. The creams were all excellent as well, not overly sweet. The ice cream is really good, I wouldn't put it at the top as some of the iconic brands here in Utah, but a solid 4 stars. When you make a purchase, you get a little mint chocolate square whose wrapper is a coupon for BOGO free ice cream or 30% off chocolates, both of which are unlimited uses so keep the coupon. Mine expires on 10/17. This coupon is good at any of their stores. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
