Whoa! I have never seen such a cool candy store like this ever before! It seems as though you are traveling through different parts of the world or era when browsing around looking at all the candy, sweets, and soda pops. They have old old concert posters and posters of retro advertisements which you can buy for a decent price. They have soda pops from all over the world and it is a very big selection. I bought my wife 12 pack of random sodas as a gift. She loves trying new weird sodas. Some of the sodas were tasty while others were not so good. The big problem we had is that 7 of our 12 sodas were either 100% flat or almost flat. We assumed they were just very old. I made sure they were not juices or something and they were all listed as sodas. She was disappointed by the flat ones, but she still enjoyed getting to try new drinks. This candy store is so cute! You can find a lot of the old school candy you used to have as a kid. Prices aren't too bad either. They also have a variety of sodas, and wall art/signs for purchase. Being as that walking is difficult for me my only gripe is parking around here. However I was able to park right across the street and was very impressed. I was greeted upon entering. The selection of candies and sodas is impressive. I wandered all around the store looking at everything while seeing what hard candies they had and I asked about sugar free. They are a bit more limited in these particular categories but they had some good items to choose from. It probably would have helped if I was not as picky about my tastes. They have a very large selection of salt water Taffy's. An impressive selection of foreign candies, and did I mention the selection of sodas. If only I could drink them. Not the best place for a diabetic who loves chocolate. Who doesn't want bacon candy? I behaved and bought a small bag for only $5.99 and I packed it full. I got some sugar free to indulge my taste and I already want to go back. The two young people working were very friendly and helpful. I will not be back to this store! Watch the pricing when you check-out. I picked up two items that each had a price tag of $3.49 on them. When I got to the register, the cashier said they were each $3.99. I said they were marked $3.49. He said, "No, they are $3.99." I said, "There is a price tag right on the back that says $3.49." He said he would "give me a discount." I was charged $7.62. After leaving, I realized he only took off $.80, not the $1.00 he should have. I should have been charged $7.43 ($6.98 for the candy and $.45 for the 6.5% sales tax). I realize it is only 19 cents, but it is ridiculous that a store will not honor their marked price. If I had done the math more quickly, I would not have continued with the purchase. Unfortunately, I didn't figure it out till later. This place is fantastic! I had walked by it a million times and never really thought of stopping in, but I was looking to track down some unusual candy for a care package and I thought checking here would be more fun than just ordering from Amazon. It definitely was! The store is big and jam packed with product. It's overwhelming in a good way, I had to take a couple of laps around the store to figure out exactly what they had. You can find almost anything here. They have bins and bins of candy by the piece, a great way to try some new stuff and also pick up favorites. They also have plenty of bagged and packaged candy, though they seemed to have lots of varieties that you can't find everywhere (I remember seeing lots of different specialty mixes of Jelly Belly). There were also some fun options from other regions and countries -- I saw Hawaiian macadamia candy, Mexican chocolate, and Kit Kats from Japan. They have a huge selection of sodas, some interesting brands and unusual flavors, and then just all kinds of specialty candies and candy related products. I picked up a package of butterscotch cups (like Reese's PB cups, but butterscotch-y) and they were divine! Finally, the staff here was great and I loved the upbeat soundtrack that was playing (good pop-y 80s and 90s stuff, I felt I was getting a contact sugar high from just the music). This is a great stop on any visit to Park Ave, I can't wait to find an excuse to go back! read more

I have to be honest. I was really dreading this place because every time I find what should be an interesting candy store, it just ends up having all the same crap as the other "interesting" candy stores. While Rocket Fizz did have some of the things I expected - they had even more things that I did not! I was thoroughly pleased with the selection and amount of times I got to say "Oh man! Look at this!" to nostalgic treats and mostly ones I had never seen before. Licorice Altoids took me by surprise. You can also get the Harry Potter fan in your life some candy from Diagon Alley. You can make your own 6 pack of soda. Daring? There's ranch, booger, buffalo wing, gingerbread, and countless flavors including individual Jone's sodas which I can't seem to find anywhere else these days. Traditional? There is some delicious birch beer and cream soda. Fun visit. Cool setup. Five stars for being what was promised - different with large variety. read more

I love this little shop that's snuggled on park ave and right near Rollins College. I came in one night after having dinner at a nearby restaurant and they were closing soon so I popped in and browsed around. We found some really items we haven't seen since we were kids and yup, we're 80s babies. Lots of cool items and candies that brought me back from when I was a kid riding my bike with the neighborhood kids and getting candy from the local corner store or stopping in after school with my dad. Get memories associated so great place to see all the staff, which is the newer and younger generation, love the stuff we loved. The worker had told us you get one free taffy to try out and omg that was such a hard decision to make with so much to choose from. I ended up getting a pineapple mixture I cant remember and total nostalgia. We came close to closing so we didnt get to fully browse but I will be back to make some purchases! read more

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine took a picture of Rocket Fizz and posted it to Instagram. Ever since seeing that picture, I made it my mission to visit this store and, by visiting, become the happiest person ever. Last weekend, we finally made it. When we walked in, I gasped and stared in awe for a second and then immediately Instagramed a picture. Yeah, I may be kind of a hipster. Then I ran around like your proverbial kid in a candy store, paying no attention to the fact that I am a 35 year old woman. It was, without a doubt, the best candy store I have visited. This may not mean much to most people, but every city I visit, I make a point to check out the local candy stores. Who knew the best one ever was right in my backyard? Rocket Fizz has possibly the largest selection of bottled sodas I have ever seen. Their candy counters are filled with local specialties from across the county, and even some international treats. For what you're getting, the prices, I think, are reasonable. I would go back every day without hesitation, if it wouldn't cause me to gain 100 pounds by December. read more

Any place that sells real birch beer is ok in my book. This is a fun place. They have all sorts of candies from our childhoods that are difficult to find these days. They also have countless specialty soda's (or as we call it in Boston, tonic) Craving bubble gum soda? They have it. Watermelon soda? They have it. Guava soda? they have it. Now, I am not much of a soda drinker at all, but when I was a wee lad we drank birch beer, which is kind of like root beer but made from the root of a birch. Well, they had several brands here and that made me nostalgic and happy. I scanned the ingredients to find one that used real birch and off I was with several bottles of my favorite childhood drink. I wish I ate more candy, or I would be here all the time. I picked up some soft liquorice and hard anise candies on this visit. The hard candies are a good deal for $2.30 and will last me a few weeks or months. They have a bunch of vintage looking sodas. I always look for Root and Ginger beer with real root and ginger in them, and this place has a few to choose from. In addition to candy, they sell shirts, posters and life size cutout cardboards, plus gag gifts. The cashier was nice and helpful too. I look forward to visiting again. read more

It's FUN store but it is rather expensive! I happen to love Canadian Smarties and if I really want them I know I can buy them here but it will cost me an arm and a leg. This was one of my favorite stores during my recent vacation to Daytona Beach. The guy working (I believe to be the owner/manager) was extremely helpful and answered numerous questions I had, which included giving me his recommendations. We went int there on a whim and I'm glad we did. We had such a great experience! The store is filled to the brim with classic soda's and candies, some that you see everywhere (i.e. the Reese's brand) but then you had a whole bacon section of things i've never seen before. Bacon Mustache? What? I didn't know about the "make your own six pack" thing but I will definitely check that out next time. I LOVE TRYING INTERNATIONAL CANDIES and their selection did not disappoint. The only downfall for me was the two people running the store weren't really mingling with the crowd asking if anyone needed anything, they really just sat there talking to these two girls the whole time (the whole 30 minutes we were in there) and I hate that so I took off one star for customer service. I finally visited Rocket Fizz after I stumbled upon a post about it on FB. Today I had a major sweet tooth and stopped by. Upon entering no one greeted me although the guy behind the register clearly saw me come in. There were exactly 3 other patrons and they were together so it wasn't busy plus the door has a bell to alert you when some one enters. I walked around perusing the selections which were a complete disappointment! Most of the candy was not nostalgic but regular current popular candy you could buy from any local store. I was hoping to find candy buttons etc... They did have "Kitts" which I was looking for but they only had vanilla and chocolate flavors. I did purchase a few pieces (5) and was flabbergasted at the cost of the coconut bar I bought. I had no idea it was $4.59 until after I paid for it! But I didn't make a big deal out of it b/c it was purchased for a friend and it happens to be her favorite candy. My grand total for two peanut chews, a sugar daddy, a fun sized kit kat, and the coconut bar was $11.45! I feel the items in this store are way overpriced and besides the taffy and sodas there isn't really a great selection of candy. read more

Yes some of the candy can be s little pricey but you have to realize it is a really neat store and you are also paying for the experience, plus they have candy that many other stores fail to have.
