Rocky's Piano Bar is a fun spot if you're looking for something a little different. They have a stage with a piano and small tables surrounding it, which creates a really cool, intimate vibe. Just a heads up, those tables were all reserved when we got there, so definitely call ahead if you want a seat, otherwise you'll likely be standing in the back. Cannot say enough good things about this place. We are out here visiting from CA, and we were looking to have a fun night out. We came on the perfect day (Thursday) because Russell Boyd and his accompanying drummer were the life of the party. Not only did he play some piano classics, but he took requests which made the night so much fun. They also managed to make the crowd laugh quite a bit (Russell is also an author/ really funny person). The service was impeccable, for some reason the bar was getting pretty crowded as the night went on and the bartender (Sara) managed to happily serve everyone. The drinks were good! Overall, it was a 11/10 night out. Our initial plan was to bar hop, but we stayed because of every component that went into this bar. I came here the other night with a friend for the umpteenth time. Why I have never written a review for this place until now, beats both you and me. The last time I came in was last weekend and the establishment wasn't packed which was nice (especially during a pandemic). We were able to come in and walk directly to the bar. The bartender although extremely busy made eye contact with my guest and I to indicate that she would be with us as soon as possible. We ordered several beverages (not at the same time) but like normal people: one at a time. The first round of beverages we ordered were shots of Tequila. The Tequila was served in plastic cups. I do understand we are in a pandemic and therefore can understand why this shot was served this way as opposed to in a shot glass. The next drank I ordered was a Gin and tonic. As everyone knows, this is a simple beverage to make, so this shouldn't be able to be ruined. While the drink wasn't a complete disaster, it did have a taste of lime. I know this may not be big deal for some, but I specifically asked for no lime or lemon. It tasted as if the bartender placed the lime on the drink and then remembered after the fact that I didn't ask for lime and then removed it from the rim of the beverage and served it to me. Aside from the drinks, the atmosphere last week didn't have the live pianists/artist like I am accustomed to. Instead, there was dance music playing which made for an evening of fun with my companion. A bar like this is highly subjective as depending upon what night a consumer visits, the establishment may have live music, recorded music or who knows. read more

To the Manager or Owner, We have been residents of Round Rock for over 25 years and we have seen the evolution of the different businesses that have come and gone from your building. We were very disappointed at the younger Musician and how he made people feel bad about not paying $20 per song. Yes, he would partially joke and say it doesn't take $20, but YOUR song request would probably not be considered if not. This was not the issue about 6 months ago. We don't know what changed. This type of condescending speech by the Musician was a huge turn off and we will not return. Maybe the bar should start paying the musicians so they don't have to beg for money. Interesting setup and venue. Piano player and drummer. I was invited by a great friend and was not expecting this setup but it was very interesting. A nice bar with a piano player and drummer willing to play any selections chosen by the customers. Great drinks and limited seating area. I would truly recommend this place with a nice group of friends or happy hour after the happy hour. Overall, I think you will have a good time here and if you willing to enjoy good music of your choice, I think you will enjoy this place. So much fun!! The drummer and pianist were hilarious and played well! It is pretty small inside so get in early and claim your table! Drinks were weak when we first got there, as the night went on they got stronger. The atmosphere is loads of fun and they keep the restrooms really clean which is rare in a bar. They have a small dance floor open to anyone and the vibe of the place makes you feel like a group of friends hanging out and having a blast. I've been to this establishment several times and never had an experience like this before I have acid reflux. I took my very first shot of the whole night still had other drinks on the table that I was going to drink, and some guy told me that I had to leave and said that I was drunk, which I was completely dead sober and so they kicked me out of the bar, so beware of throwing up if you have acid reflux I will never visit this establishment again. read more

The past several times I've gone to this bar- every table is reserved before 8 o'clock. This facility is small as it is- a smattering of 18 small tables with no chairs or seating at the bar. Allowed by patrons to reserve all tables essentially turns the rest away. My husband and I typically spend 12$ a drink each and we will easily consume 5 drinks each when we can comfortably sit and enjoy the entertainment. Last night - to ensure we had a place to sit, we arrived at 745. All but one table was marked reserved. At 8 - this mousy woman bathed in musk asked us why we took their reserved table. I irritatingly told her it was the only table that wasn't marked. She and her masked friend were quick to call me a liar. My husband and I went to the bar to ask if every table was reserved. The bar tender said yes but after 830 we may be able to take one if no one shows. I told her that was a bad business model for such a small establishment- we were there now and willing to buy drinks. She shrugged- we closed our tab and went next doors. I feel this is poorly run. We will go to Darwin's before coming back here. At Darwin's we are guaranteed seating . Found this little gem of a spot while visiting a friend. We stumbled into here and couldn't have had a better evening without having to leave Round Rock! Truth be told it got packed quickly however word on the street is that you can call ahead and get a table reserved. However we lucked up and was able to sit with some folks who extended a seat. This was a fun little find on the main drag in dwntwn RR. The piano playing began after 9pm and they have surprisingly affordable "you-calls" here, though the cocktail menu was good, mine was not nearly as strong as it should have been for the price. The whiskey "you-call" was great and half the price. We hugged the bar the entire time we were here as the tables were RSVP'd and the place packs 'em in, so we figured it was better to be closer to the "source" than have to navigate the crowd each time we wanted to "whet our whistles". The song selection was a bit all over the place, but that was half of the fun. This place is A-OK, luckily I saw that you can message them on FB to reserve a table which I did for 4 of us. Think I got the last one since it was close to the door but we didn't care, the people standing up along the wall looked angry...and we were happily seated with waitress service. Once we left there was almost a brawl to get our table. We had to show up at 8pm, no hostess which was a little weird but my name was on the table. They do karaoke from 8-pm and then the piano guy comes in at 9:30pm. I am not sure why they don't have more stools to sit around the bar but it got pretty packed towards the end of the night. I am glad we had waitresses taking our drink orders because I heard it was a free for all at the bar and really disorganized. There were only two waitresses so they are definitely short staffed and they worked their bunz off. I liked the karaoke guy, he was pretty engaging and sang a few songs if there was dead space. The piano guy was pretty good, he was definitely only playing typical piano bar song requests and if you gave him $20 then he moved your request to the top - I don't get spending that much money on a cheesy song but hey it was a pretty fun night all in all but definitely reserve a table if you go there. read more

I had a really terrible experience here for a few reasons: 1. They put another person in my party's drinks on my tab without asking me about it and without asking the person that ordered the drinks to start a tab. It was a busy night and I understand that mistakes can be made in a busy atmosphere, so I was very gracious as they rang up the transaction several times trying to fix the tab. I confirmed with them at the bar that night that only one transaction would be charged and they assured me yes. However, the next day I saw the 3-4 pending charges on my card, so I called back to confirm that only one would be charged and they assured me yes again. A few days later, there are 2 transactions that were officially charged to my credit card and another one still pending (none of them the correct amount), and now I'm having to dispute the charges with my credit card company. 2. The drinks were shockingly watered down and consequently way overpriced. For your reference, I am a 120 pound, tiny girl that has very low tolerance for alcohol. I had 3 shots and 3 cocktails in the span of about 2.5 hours, and left the bar very confused because I felt more sober than when I arrived. When I left the bar, I took a breathalyzer test which showed only 0.02. According to several different BAC trackers, a woman my size should have a BAC of ~0.2 after 6 drinks, ten times more impaired than I actually was. My friend with me felt the exact same way and had a breathalyzer which showed a BAC of 0.03. To claim to serve alcohol and charge the price of alcohol, while only serving people juice is frankly unacceptable. read more

I've been here a couple times now with different groups of friends and it's always a good time. There were different lead singers each time, but they've all been good and entertaining. If you want to reserve a table, do so in advance and make sure to arrive before the cutoff time to claim your table. If you want the guys to sing a song to your birthday girl or bachelorette, make sure to tip them well if you want to skip ahead in the lineup. If you only tip a couple bucks, you'll have to wait. We were there last night on a packed Saturday night. Warmup band was a super talented country singer, Tyler something, that dude could play and sing. Impressed. The piano and drummer guys were lots of fun. Great crowd interaction, talented, funny. I didn't expect us to spend 4 hrs here but we did. My only gripe is that it's difficult to have any kind of conversation there due to music volume. The piano guys went straight (no breaks) for 3+ hours. So maybe not ideal for a first date or getting to know someone. Drinks were fine. No food whatsoever but they have no problem with you bringing your own, I'll do that next time. read more

One of our friends out their jacket on the back of an empty chair. Thus guy with a cap on backwards, threw her jacket off of the chair. We were like dude!(?)... The bouncers walked up and a guy that claimed to be the owner! They did nothing about it... All seemed to be over and then the "owner" is laughing at the corner of the bar with the guy that threw the jacket on the floor!! WTF Then the guy that threw the jacket in the floor threw a wet napkin at a friend from NJ face! The bouncers still did nothing and offered to buy shots for everyone!!!! Really... The best music, food, and drinks. The place is huge, perfect for socially distant outings. I love that the drummer and the pianist take songs requests from the audience - and they are hilarious btw. The staff in general is so attentive and welcoming. This place is such a much needed retreat from all the chaos going on around us lately. I visited this little piano bar while on a date and also on a night where there was no piano playing. There was, however, a great little country duo on guitar called Treble Soul. The place was next to empty with only three other patrons and an equal number of staff, but from what I hear, this place gets packed on the weekends. We enjoyed the live music and warm hospitality on a cold, rainy night and I'd definitely go back to experience the piano bar side of things. read more
