Now it hosts musical acts, podcasters, movies and more! We recently attended THE HIDDEN BRAIN's podcast live taping, hosted by WUSF 89.7FM. It was a fabulous experience. We parked down the street, and it was free. The ushers and security personnel were friendly & efficient. The seats were comfortable, it was easy to see the stage from the back of the house, & the temperature was perfect inside (blazing hot outside). The ladies room had 6 or 7 stalls, and it seemed as if all of us women were able to use the facilities and return to our seats in the time allotted for the intermission. We did not purchase food or drinks, but a wide selection of each was available in the lobby areas, and adequately staffed. Prices seemed reasonable. This theatre is affiliated with Ruth Eckerd Hall. When purchasing tickets, you can save money on fees by buying tickets at their box office instead of online or by phone.

We were so into the appetizers that we almost skipped entrees, but decided to share a shrimp po'boy. The shrimp was perfectly crispy, exactly what we were looking for. Overall, great location, great food, friendly staff, fast service, and happy hour makes it all that much better. Will happily return and recommend!

When we arrived, the hostess initially tried to seat us in direct sunlight even though there were several shaded tables available. I asked if we could sit in the shade instead, and she happily accommodated us. Our waitress appeared to be the only server working, yet she did an excellent job keeping up with all of her tables. She was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the coconut shrimp, which were perfectly crispy and delicious. The only odd thing was that they were served on a bed of rice, which didn't really make sense with the dish. We also ordered the grouper po' boy, and it was huge with well-seasoned, flavorful fish. The crab cakes, however, were a disappointment. They were heavily seasoned with Old Bay to the point that it overpowered the crab. I actually had to scrape off the top layer of seasoning just to enjoy them. For drinks, I ordered an IPA, and we also tried the Strawberry Smash that our waitress recommended. Unfortunately, the cocktail was the weakest part of the meal. It tasted more like club soda with muddled strawberries and mint than an actual mixed drink, and it was surprisingly difficult to drink through the straw. Overall, Salty's is a solid spot if you're looking for a casual meal that's convenient and satisfying. The service was excellent, and a couple of the food items really stood out, but nothing we ordered was memorable enough that I'd go out of my way to come back.
